I keep hearing this rumour and I'm just curious to know where it comes from? Where is the evidence?

Haven't read whole thread but did anyone pick up on the son of the woman William supposedly cheated with was one of the pages alongside Prince George at the coronation?

It would take quite a leap for Kate to swallow that wouldn't it if it was true?

Yes it was mentioned before. He was the younger of the twins.
His father was the Lord Great Chamberlain of England during the late Queen Elizabeth the 2nd's reign.

queentim · 27/05/2023 19:56

William.. Like grandfather, like father like son.

Not really if you've invested 20 years in a relationship and want to be a Queen Consort. Don't forget for example that Charles wanted Camilla's son to be in his wedding to Diana.

Also, these aristos seem to have weird incestuous relationships, being godmothers and fathers to the children 9f old lovers and whatnot.

It's been noted.

Also the fact that there has never been anything other than Internet gossip. If it was true then it would have been properly reported on. No journalist worth the name would sit on a story like that. The Royal Family don't have anywhere near that kind of control over the press. And no "superinjunction" would work - its only valid in England & Wales - press in Scotland/NI/Europe/US/everywhere in the entire world could freely report on it.

Righttttt...much like how news of Pedrews relationship with Epstein and the other sex trafficker was widely reported? Including Buckingham Palace lawyers threatening a major US news network?

Super injunction or not, the royals abuse the laws to suit their interests, and people bend for the access.

It was widely reported on. There was photos and everything. National and international news. Maybe you missed the weeks of coverage. 🙄

When it was ORIGINALLY supposed to be reported on, it was not. Because Palace lawyers.

Not the more recent reporting with Lizzy paying to protect Pedrew.

Try again.

Why the need for the silly name use?

We all agree about Andrew.

But if one person uses silly names then the others start and there is a clamour for certain ones to stop.

Unless of course it is open season for the play on royal names?

SoTedious · 28/05/2023 17:05

What is Pedrew @queentim

It's a bore, isn't it?
"Pedrew" isn't even witty. Or spelled properly. Or accurate.
I'd have gone for "Andry" myself, if I felt like being childish. Due to the lack of sweating, geddit?! Boom-tish!

But if one person uses silly names then the others start and there is a clamour for certain ones to stop.

Very much this.

LaMarschallin · 28/05/2023 17:19

Oops!
Sorry - missed of the "We" when I quoted you.

SoTedious · 28/05/2023 17:23

Is it really a sort of pun made by replacing the beginning of the name of a man who is not a paedophile with pe- instead of pae-?

SoTedious · 28/05/2023 17:24

Do we say it ped-drew or pee-drew?

LaMarschallin · 28/05/2023 17:27

Do we say it ped-drew or pee-drew?

Presumably, whichever one sounds most like "An-drew".
So, err...

Maireas · 28/05/2023 17:27

Do you know, I've just come on the thread and couldn't work out who Pedrew was. Thanks, @ArcaneWireless and also @LaMarschallin - I genuinely can't stand all that silly name calling. I have no idea, @SoTedious , I'm assuming it's a pae - prefix sort of thing. 🙄

Maireas · 28/05/2023 17:28

Anyway, to repeat - I've not seen anyone on any of these threads defending or justifying Andrew.

ArcaneWireless · 28/05/2023 17:43

Andry is inspired @LaMarschallin 🫣

And if we are going to go with silly names at least that one means something.

Pedrew looks more like something that would do the business on hard skin on your trotter.

Maireas · 28/05/2023 17:46

Or someone from the North East pronouncing Pedro.

ArcaneWireless · 28/05/2023 17:48

Shut it Twinny 😁

I kid ye not - the same thing went through ma heid 🤣

Maireas · 28/05/2023 17:50

😂"he's a canny lad that Pedrew, and he looves his tapas"

ArcaneWireless · 28/05/2023 17:51

Stop 😆

LaMarschallin · 28/05/2023 17:55

That's such a relief!
I knew it it reminded me of "Pedro" in a particular accent but couldn't pin-point which one.

tigger2022 · 28/05/2023 17:57

Also there was a real victim, I wish people wouldn’t make light of it

Maireas · 28/05/2023 17:58

Yeah, Andrew doesn't need a jokey nickname. He needs justice served.

Oh, are "silly names" banned in the royal family threads now, or is that just limited to Pedrew? Because from what I've seen many royals have had nicknames used, but it's interesting the defence against Pedrew's. Hmm..

queentim · 28/05/2023 21:30

SoTedious · 28/05/2023 17:05

What is Pedrew @queentim

It seems you've figured it out - good! Pronounce it how you want, depending on wjere you're from. It's Ped-rew/Paed-rew for me. I for one won't make fun of a person's accent or pronunciation
