I keep hearing this rumour and I'm just curious to know where it comes from? Where is the evidence?

He's not a normal child as he will be king one day.

rattymol · 09/04/2023 10:39

Ancient gran it is not true that royals can leave the job but not the family. Royals who have left the job have always been cut off.

That will explain Harry and Meghan not being invited to the coronation then, oh hang on they have been invited haven't they.

Coxspurplepippin · 09/04/2023 11:57

What about Zara Tindall? Has she been cut off? I don't remember that.

Cokefans · 09/04/2023 12:07

They have been invited out of politeness and to head off more tantrums/victimhood. No senior royal will see them alone. They are not trusted. There’s nowhere left for them to go.

I don't think you can claim to have been cut off if you get invited to one of the biggest shindigs of the year if not the biggest.

Cokefans · 09/04/2023 12:48

I didn’t say they had been cut off. They left the job and THEY torched their relationship with the family

Yes, I think we are agreeing they haven't been cut off and any awkwardness isn't because they've left. It's obviously because people can't trust them to keep any conversations to themselves.

beatrice14 · 09/04/2023 20:54

I think far more concerning than possible cheating -which after all is bad but not criminal- is the allegations about Harry's treatment of prostituted women while he was in the army. Is what was said upthread about it being discussed on military forums true? Obviously if it was just discussed on Blind Gossip then it is much more likely to be made up. If it was true then it makes them all look worse for covering up, just as possibly Mountbatten, Andrew and maybe others were covered up. It's needs to be much more transparent on official stuff too - we ought to know what the PM says to the monarch, at least if it can be safely released.
On the French system, there was some discussion that Macron had an affair with his bodyguard and that Brigitte was born male , and quite a lot during the election on how his affair with Brigitte began when he was her 15-year-old school student. But obviously his situation was quite unusual and disturbing.

@notanotheroneagain "To me, sorry, but it sounds very much like a poc complaining about institutional racism and telling them 'just go then'.".
But H&M wanted to be half in and half out; ie pick and choose the most interesting things to do, and monetise the RF the rest of the time. This was on their website. However, apparantly the late Queen, said you can either be in or out, but not both. They chose 'out'.
Rumours have circulated that they were always going to leave and had lined up the OW interview before the wedding.
I think Charles would rather they had stayed, as although he reportedly wanted a slimmed down monarchy, the absence of H&M leave them a bit thin on the ground, considering the older ones (Anne, Sophie, Edward, etc) are going to get older, and it will be some years before George, Charlotte and Louis are old enough, and as had been said before there is no reason why one should just assume they will want to be 'working' royals (ie represent the State at State functions, etc).
In fact we only have Harry's word that anything at all was said about Archie's potential skin colour. Harry said 1 conversation before they married, Meghan said several conversations, when she was pregnant.
Secondly, I personally would not have known what 'straight out of Compton meant', as I have never heard of Compton, which was apparently reported by a US based journalist in the Daily Mail?, (I think).
I DO think there is a problem with ALL 'Spares', as it seems to me, especially with P. Harry, that an assumption was made about his role in the RF, and there was no thought given to any alternative career path.

What did Harry actually do after he left the Army? There were many years when he appears to have done nothing . Yes, he set up Invictus but that wasn’t a full time occupation and was mostly run by other people. It was only when he decided to get married that he he seemed to feel he wanted to be a ‘working Royal’. Which is odd. Especially since he claimed he was triggered by cameras. He could have flown helicopters like William did , in a civilian role. He could have had a desk job in the Army. Yet he did very little indeed.

dig135 · 13/04/2023 07:23

I think Harry likes a vanity project where he can bask in the glory without too much effort on his part. In fairness, he's probably not the only Royal to do that.

But they're savvy enough to know that lecturing on the environment at a conference you've flown to in a private jet perhaps isn't the best look.

He did Invictus, work in Lesotho and Botswana and that mental health stuff with W&K. Heads Together was it called?

That’s what royals do, they find causes they are interested in and support them. It’s all they CAN do.

"Sentebale was founded by Prince Harry, The Duke of Sussex and Prince Seeiso in 2006 as a response to the needs of children and young people in Lesotho. The name means ‘forget-me-not’ in the Sesotho language, representing a pledge to remember the most vulnerable children in the region."

And of course Harry is Patron of the Invictus Games

https://invictusgamesfoundation.org/foundation/governance/

True, but it's either Harry turns up, hands out a few medals and leaves it all to the lackies, as the rest of the royal family are accused of... turn up at Earthshot, look handsome/pretty, smile sweetly and leave it all to the lackies, or accept that Harry works for the Games and the rest of the RF work at their charities, research then and continue to give support.

People can't have it both ways.

purpledalmation · 13/04/2023 19:08

And this long running non story about an affair.

It just shows that harry and meghan are not the only victims of malicious gossip and SM targeting.

Not everyone is the same. We can't assume that. Who knows

If the rumours aren't true, I feel terrible for Rose's family but mostly her children. Her twins are teenagers now. Kids can be mean. Their classmates have access to stories on the Internet and on social media. Kids can be really mean. I also feel bad for the Waleses kids, especially George. He's turning 10 soon so he's at an age where kids would repeat things at school that they saw on social media or that they heard the parents talk about.

William actually used to get teased and bullied at Eton during the War of the Waleses.

One of Camilla’s nephew (well actually Andrew PB's nephew) said in an interview years ago that he and his brother used to get bullied at school after Diana's death. A lot of people blamed Camilla and them having the last name Parker Bowles didn't help.

I just hope all the kids (the Waleses and Rose's kids) are okay

I want commenting on the rest of the RF, my comment was specifically about Harry, so this response is a bit of a reach!
