Thomas Markle lives in a Mexican town that borders with the United States. The closest international airport in his city is LAX in Los Angeles, from where New Zealand operates flights to Heathrow.
You clearly have not read the memoir as Harry does not say the booked flight was from Mexico. And the first class business class distinction is not that big a deal as Harry probably only flies first class and would not know that "Business Premier" is what Air NZ calls its most expensive cabin. Thomas has also confirmed that he went to Beverly Hills, arranged by Meghan, to get suited and booted, which makes the staged photos even sillier as he could have staged them in Beverly Hills instead of getting cheap hoodies made in Rosarito. He was definitely going to the wedding.

I have argued before that the sympathy for Thomas and Samantha Markle, in contrast to the unpleasant rumours spread about Doria, is largely to do with the fact that people identify more with people who look like them than those who don't. Nothing else explains why they continue to get sympathy.
There is also a lot of amnesia. That whole family has been batty since the relationship was announced.
Samantha started attacking Meghan in the media long BEFORE the wedding. Thomas Markle Junior wrote an open letter to Harry saying he should not marry Meghan-- this was BEFORE the wedding. They both then sort of apologised, but doubled down after they did not get invited to the wedding.
Thomas Snr got paid to stage photos, then lied that he knew nothing about it, He then informed Meghan he was not coming to the wedding through TMZ, and refused to confirm what hospital he was in. He then went on a spree of interviews blackmailing her.
He was coming to the Jubilee to be hosted by GBNews, and was supposed to stay with Lady Colin Campbell who makes regular, almost nightly videos about Meghan hinting at surrogacies and divorce. He then had a stroke and couldn't come.
He talked to Tom Bower for his book. He was frequently on with Piers Morgan. He offered to be a witness for the Daily Mail. He is going to be a witness for Samantha if the court case goes on. He appears frequently on You Tube Meghan hate channels. His most recent ones saw him taking questions about whether Meghan had had an abortion as a teenager, whether Archie and Lili wee created from frozen eggs, whether she had been married before Trevor. and whether she had been a "yacht girl'. I kid you not.
He and Samantha do a LOT of interviews on these conspiracy channels, giving the bullshit currency.
On the children with different fathers thing: Samantha had been telling the media she "raised Meghan". Meghan responded that no, she did not even raise her own children, she had three children with different fathers and lost custody of them all. That was the context, nothing to do with "slut shaming".
Thomas Markle Jar only recently connected with Samantha, before the wedding he was slagging her off in the media and she was slagging him off.
Thomas Markle Snr complains about not seeing Archie and Lili but is NOT in touch with all five of his other grandchildren (all three of Samantha's kids) nor with Thomas Jr's two kids, and Jnr himself is estranged from those kids. Samantha's daughter Noelle spoke about the physical abuse she received from Samantha as a child. Samantha is not in touch with any of her kids. Samantha and her brother are estranged from their mother, and in fact, from all accounts, the years Doria was married to Thomas Markle was the only time they had the semblance of a regular family -- but still called her The Maid to their friends.
It's a shit show of dysfunction. I suspect that Harry and Meghan are trauma bonded by their whackjob families.
