Where is Meghan?

I haven't seen hide-nor-hair of Meghan since the book release which is uncharacteristic of her. Even with the Montecito floods there was no news. So I'm wondering how this is playing out? Happiness or anger behind closed doors?

Now the person who has shown coordinated attacks on social media on people like Meghan Markle, Kamala Harris and Amber Heard is being criticised because he was in the H&M documentary. There were several accounts on YouTube where the primary income was made from hate which were banned as a consequence of his reports. Now a lawyer who makes a proportion of his income on YouTube with a specific niche - and regularly teams up with Samantha Markle - is suing Bouzy. Uh huh - sure Jan.

AliceOlive · 03/03/2023 23:11

Nate the Lawyer teams up with Samantha Markle?

That’s definitely one of those deals where you only need to know one thing about a person in order to know it all.

Morestrangethings · 03/03/2023 23:41

I read lots of arguments on here that claim that most people think negatively of Meghan and Harry, but’s there really is no way to objectively assess these claims/beliefs.

Being in the majority does not make us right. It just means we are in the majority. How many times in life does the majority make decisions that impact negatively? I can think of quite a few recent examples.

onlylarkin · 04/03/2023 03:32

@Morestrangethings

I always find it funny that these popularity contests (even in the US so no shade) is a fraction of the population.

"Polls say Karen's around the world aren't bitchy. Breaking news at 10"

Turns out it was a sample of 2,000 people out of a population of 300 million.

Of those 2000 25% actually DO think Karen's are bitchy but are afraid to say so and ended up voting with the majority so as not to be bullied.

25% don't really care but give the answer they think the poller wants to hear.

And so on and so forth until the reality ends up being that 3 total people out of 300 million actually think Karen's aren't bitchy but since it was released on every breaking news story around the world it is now fact that can be stated endlessly on Twitter, and online forums all the while then other 1,997 people are confused because no one they know actually fit the profile and everyone around them just can't be bothered with Karen's in the first place.

*disclaimer - no Karen's were harmed in the making of this post.

onlylarkin · 04/03/2023 03:32

Possessive apostrophes were apparently harmed though.

Sorry.

One more thing.

That is how Trump got elected. People believed the polls. 🙄🤣

Lol, yes. I don’t pay much attention to polls anymore. I’m surprised anyone does after the past near decade.

AliceOlive · Yesterday 20:26
she influenced Markle who then failed to show up for his own Daughter’s wedding.

Really? I thought he was not-so-subtly uninvited by said Daughter?
Face and figure didn't fit imagine projected to the RF. Doria better

Morestrangethings · 04/03/2023 06:46

“Face and figure didn't fit imagine projected to the RF.”

No, that’s not it. If I remember correctly, pictures of the late Earl Spencer, Diana’s dad, walking her down the aisle show he was no oil painting.

But yes, Doria looked absolutely regal that day. Very composed, but obviously very happy to see her daughter so happy.

Plitvice · 04/03/2023 09:49

That's not what I saw? 😕

purpledalmation · 04/03/2023 10:04

@PreparationPreparationPrep

Nothing wrong with Kamala Harris or Michelle Obama or even Ms Alyard. People who believe in their causes are to be admired, and people who can admit they mistakes, more so.

Ohnonevermind · 04/03/2023 10:11

@BadgerB

He never even got an invite, unlike Doria.

No, it's not. He exposes Christopher Bouzy as a dishonest operator who was declared bankrupt and then lied about the bankruptcy when setting up Bot Sentinal. A company that went on to make claims that Twitter investigated and proved untrue. He then posted tweets criticising the appearance of William and kate.

Re Samantha markle, I've not seen this but the irony of a black lawyer (apparently, supporting SMarkle?) but criticising a 'black' woman (MM,) and a dodgy company director (CB,)is not escaping me 😂

True, but he was an Earl, an old Etonian, and more "English Nobility" than the Royals. These things count, don't yer know! He could be as scruffy as he liked...

Ohnonevermind · 04/03/2023 11:12

The RF had no problem with TM coming to the wedding

Meghan was clearly the one who didn’t want him there

Plitvice · 04/03/2023 11:21

Their PR know more about optics at a major, televised wedding than most of us. Having her mother sitting alone was always going to look totally weird and fair game for tabloid comment. They would have hired a fake family to fill those gaps if they could. It feels like they let the bride have her way on her big day which did her no favours.

Morestrangethings · 04/03/2023 11:34

oh I can just imagine how well the discovery of Meghan having a fake family at her wedding would go down on these threads.

that would be a 40 pager, many times over.

I'm absolutely sure poor old Thomas could have been scrubbed up and made presentable. Being overweight isn't a big deal with good tailoring. I think his heart attack was partly due to the stress of his disagreements with Meghan. To know he has never met his son in law or grandchildren is very sad, in view of the love and devotion he gave to Meghan growing up. Ok he made a mistake but he was clearly manipulated by the media.

Ohnonevermind · 04/03/2023 11:50

A good tailor could hide pretty much anything. A bit of TLC at the barber and some grooming and he would have been fine and not looked out of place .
They could have put him up in KP for a few weeks before the wedding, instead of the shit show that ensued.

Samcro · 04/03/2023 11:51

poor old Thomas? I might be misremembering but didn't he blackmail Meghan, something like he would do an interview every day, can't remember the exact thing he used.

Ohnonevermind · 04/03/2023 11:54

We’re talking about the wedding samcro,
i think you’re getting confused

i think he threatened to do interviews afterwards, but I don’t think he’s done an interview everyday, probably less interviews than Harry,

thats it, wasn't sure of the timing. but does show she was right imo.

Ohnonevermind · 04/03/2023 12:10

@Samcro

he didn’t say anything about them for months before the wedding and similarly he sat on Meghan’s letter for months until the People article when he went to the papers

i think he could have been managed far better. He was treated in such as off hand way by the couple.

Harry and Meghan are doing interviews, so clearly they are as bad as you say he is ? Does that mean the RF are right to cut them off

Roussette · 04/03/2023 12:40

I love the defence of him. Hmm He hired photographers shortly before the wedding to show him trying on suits, drinking coffee whilst reading Country Life or whatever... pictures to sell to the Sun and DM. Staged photos sold for £100,000. Lovely guy Hmm

And in court, the messages from H&M urging him to come to the wedding, saying they will send the same security people he has met before, begging him to answer the phone, trying to find out if he was OK.... it was shown that they did want him there. But he went rogue. He eventually replied that he didn't want help and he turned away the people H&M sent to check if he was alright.

But he's wonderful. M&H are awful.

I think he should have been there for a few weeks before the wedding, too.

Left to his own devices he seems to freak out. It seemed like the media scrutiny was just too much. I think it was Samantha arranged the paparazzi shoots, to improve his image, and he didn’t recognize what a stupid idea it was.

I kept hoping he would just get it together and come to the wedding. I felt very sad for Meghan watching all that unfold. (And at the time was only seeing headlines, refused to dig in and read because it felt too personal.)

I don’t think Meghan wanted him to stay away. But I do think it was a mistake to not introduce him to Harry as soon as they became serious. I suppose she was uncomfortable but I don’t think Harry would have met him and changed his mind about her.
