Where is Meghan?

I haven't seen hide-nor-hair of Meghan since the book release which is uncharacteristic of her. Even with the Montecito floods there was no news. So I'm wondering how this is playing out? Happiness or anger behind closed doors?

It’s at odds with her constantly banging on about being a feminist. So why is she changing her appearance with surgery and extensions, veneers etc? She’s just another LA Barbie doll wannabe.

She hasn't been seen for 3 months but here we are... posters gleefully talking of chipped off veneers, her nose and calling her a LA Barbie wannabe.

How long does she have to be out of sight for some of you to stop this horrible female on female criticism about appearance?

I find it quite shameful actually, do you ever look at yourselves and wonder where all this unpleasantness comes from, with someone who has not been around for months?

They were coming out with some endeavour or other every five minutes, and now…. silence from Meghan (not from Harry, unfortunately).

Given that it is highly unlikely that Meghan is home in Montecito drowning in domesticity, people wonder idly what she is up to.

I have now (I blame you, Rousette Wink) and: Bloody hell!

At least Meghan's nose job was well done and appropriate to the rest of her features.

(My building work is finishing tomorrow and I can go back to normal. Just as well, as all this time on MN is unsettling and scarily addictive Shock)

Oh c'mon Rousette, you speak of 'female on female criticism' - are you so perfect that you have never done that, at school, as a teenager, or at the worplace? AND its not purely the domain of females either! I have heard very camp gay men be (your word) 'vile' and cutting in their comments of how women look - but that's OK I suppose. It's human nature to comment, or are we totally going down the dystopian route of being silenced - like being cancelled by the unnamed and invisible woke mob? Not me it won't.

My bug bear is when various celebrities claim it’s all natural or some skin care products they use, when it’s surgery, fillers, filters and make up.

Rhinoplasties , breast augmentation and fillers are passed off as ‘diet’ and ‘contouring’ 🤣 Various weight loss surgeries as ‘diet and exercise’

I’m not trying to run celebrities down for having the work, it’s just insulting our intelligence to say it’s all natural when it’s clearly not or to flog a product which they’re being paid to do which has made zero impact on their appearance.

I'm not at school. I am not a teenager. And to be honest, I don't think I slag other women's appearances off just for something to do.

I'm not talking about camp gay men. I am talking about a thread on MN. Trying to justify that it's ok... well, just knock yourself out being bitchy then.

Nobody has compared her to Katie Price. Katie Price has taken it to the freak extreme (there is always one).

Meghan has had a range of high quality surgical/non-surgical work which has definitely enhanced her appearance. I don't judge her for it because I think she needed it to stand out. I don't think it helped her career but it helped her social/dating life.
She should be giving tips to Kate because Kate's current fillers are badly done and very obvious (BAFTA pictures).

That's funny! Using the word 'vile' means I could be a teenager! Okey doke! I am not describing anyone as vile, I am saying IT is vile to denigrate women's appearances like this, especially when they haven't been public for months.

A lot of people used to be in hiding this time of year waiting for their cosmetic work to settle before the Oscar’s scene.

Peels, fillers and Botox at a minimum and I’m sure the best surgeons are working around the clock

If Jennifer Aniston credits ‘aveeno’ moisturiser for her amazing skin and does advertisements, are we not allowed to wonder if the aveeno got a little help from a plastic surgeon ?

Ditto all the celebrities who tell us their youthful good looks are down to ‘a vegan diet and lots of yoga’

Or that you can get Kylie Jenners plumped up pout by buying her expensive lip kits.

ive a 13 year old (who doesn’t have IG) but these things are important, because people are believing this bullshit and thinking they can’t compare

Meghan doesn't promote beauty products or state how she looks is down to a vegan diet or whatever.

Different altogether than those trading on their looks and out there denying they've ever had anything done and they look like they do because they slather themselves in Nivea or whatever!

I completely agree.

The tabloid media (with royal rata and the firm as accomplices) has painted Meghan - a truly accomplished, articulate, confident, caring, service-oriented feminist - as some kind of hated bogeyman. For no reason other than Harry’s choice not to submit to literal tabloid criminality.

As a result, many UK women have normalised that hate and decided that it is not only acceptable but a pleasurable pasttime to demonise and dehumanise her to an extent I’ve literally never seen before.

I personally believe that her race and nationality have contributed to the “otherness” that so many memes and vile comments reflect. I recognise that as bigotry. It makes me truly sad when people refuse to acknowledge it for what it is.
