Vogue Williams would be considered upper middle class in Ireland. She went to a private day school.
I was surprised she married Brian Mc Fadden. 🙄
She trained as a quantity surveyor.
She is very pretty, I saw her in a shop in Dublin one day.
Her first cousin is married to Jamie Heaslip the former Irish rugby player.
She has been very discreet re her royal links.

I actually used the word as she was not trying to speak over experts in the field. Nor was she opposed to hearing differing points of view from a multitude of people.

So yes, she was humble, because she wanted to listen and learn different points of view, backed up with evidence.

Not sure how that is a bad thing? If anything it shows maturity and self awareness.

I agree with you @ConsistentlyClumsy . Having a certain degree of humbleness is a fantastic trait and has nothing to do with walking 2 steps behind your husband. The world does not need more people who are too busy to be full of themselves to actually achieve anything meaningful.

In my long professional career, I have found that those who are most talented, skilled, competent brag the least. The ones who are gobbiest and always have a need to be in the centre of attention are usually less talented or good at their job. The better you are the less the need to show off.

Yes! I met Carole Middleton about 10 years ago

I worked in the Newbury branch of Waitrose and she was renowned in there for being really rude.

She marched up to me and barked 'mascarpone'

I said 'yes? Would you like to know if we have any?' and she said 'just go and get me two pots and leave at the service desk. I haven't got all day' and walked off

Another time she was tearing a strip off the manager - something to do with a Christmas Turkey

She's just rude and sneery. That's all I remember of her on the odd time she popped into store

@ChocChipOwl

Jesus, shockingly rude.
If she raised Kate, how can the elder daughter be polite and pleasant while mum and the younger sister is quite opposite...I am curious.

@aCupOfTeaSunday
Maybe she takes after her dad?! 😂

Agree Vogue is very pretty & she really has been discreet considering she's an open book usually. I hope her & Pippa can have a proper chinwag behind closed doors.

Kateforqueen · 11/01/2023 16:35

@LadyEloise1 my two sisters had no idea Vogue & Pippa were sisters in law. Its not well documented at all.

I've actually met Doria once.

It was at a wellness eco retreat in Goa a few years ago. She was super nice especially during the early morning vinyasa classes, I can testify that she is very bendy and has washboard abs!

She is even more stunning in real life and really kind. She once gave me a hug when I was feeling jet lagged and a bit emotional after a detox reflection session and I felt really tranquil and revived afterwards.

It's absolutely no surprise to me that her daughter is just as gracious, kind, bendy and toned. We all know the apple doesn't fall far from the tree 🤗🐳🤗

Disclaimer: this is purely fictional, I thought if I was to invent having met one of these people, I'd conjure up something lovely and positive rather than mean🏝

" beef or chicken "
" tea or coffee"

If she was rude to me, I would just repeat the above lines....!!! or make a comment about her party tat from china that she flogs....she sounds awful.

Being humble and modest is the reason why so many women get bypassed when it comes to promotions and advancement in career. This is the same as when people tell their girls to behave nice and quiet and boys to be brave.

No one should have to be grateful for good things in life, everyone deserves them. I will never be grateful for my good education, I worked hard to get it. My good health is part luck, part my own healthy habits, no need to be grateful. If you don't have a loving family from the start, you need to ditch them when you grow up and find more reserving people.

Chickalettaetta · 11/01/2023 16:55

I worked for Jigsaw when Kate did. She was part time and it wasn't for long but she was nice.
I also know someone who was with William in the RAF at the same time on Anglesey. He was always very discreet about them but said they were very normal.

The Jigsaw store in Newbury used to have Carole in sometimes. Nothing too bad but she wasn't friendly apparently (but I'm not always super friendly if I just want a quiet browse so I can't draw a lot from that!)

tarheelbaby · 11/01/2023 17:03

DH's cousin was in South America on the same charity volunteering programme as Kate. He says she was lovely.

… and if you do know Kate, please share her diet rules and fitness routine?! It is impressive!

I doubt it's much more complicated than:

Eating very little
Excercising a lot

It's doing it, having the time to, and sticking to it that's hard

BillLius · 11/01/2023 17:11

My neighbour was graced with a home visit by W&K. The door was open so we could stand outside and watch. There was a dog in the lounge and it shat on the floor then wandered off outside. William said aren’t you going to get your dog? My dog? said the neighbour. I don’t have a dog, I thought it was yours.

Then they left.

I couldn't agree more, YogaIsNotForMe, and would add that many understand their role to be very important, without believing that the same applies to them personally

I've always considered it a worthwhile quality - not easy to describe perhaps, but instantly recognisable when you see it

Fair enough, if you think working as an air hostess is something to be ashamed of.

JoyPeaceHealth · 11/01/2023 17:17

omg ! opportunistic dog

@LadyEloise1 she definitely regrets that! Mind you, she has kind of made that clear. It might have been better to have said nothing at all about her regrets.

It's funny, Brian's MAMMY hated Kerry Katona, really looked down on her, but wasn't keen on Vogue either. I bet. Bryan had to marry somebody on the same level as his MAMMY, nobody beneath Mammy, nobody above Mammy. Ok, I'll stop mocking the mcfaddens now. I'm sure they're all lovely. Except when Bryan's mammy spoke on the late late show I thought what a cast iron wagon give me strength.

Picoloangel · 11/01/2023 17:21

DF met K whilst doing some work for them. He said she was lovely - friendly, polite, normal, no airs etc.

LadyEloise1 · 11/01/2023 17:38

@JoyPeaceHealth
Sorry I'm confused at
"omg ! opportunistic dog."
?????

I never saw Mrs. Mc Fadden being interviewed. I know nothing about them.

WarmWinterSun · 11/01/2023 17:49

Humility is a wonderful characteristic for any person, and especially important for someone who is in a privileged position like Kate. That’s a fantastic compliment.

Aspiringmatriarch · 10/01/2023 23:40

A friend used to work in a Waitrose local to them quite a while ago, before Kate and William married. Kate was nice and low-key apparently but Carole was a nightmare customer and gave herself airs. 😄

I’ve heard so many similar things about people having met Carole and how grand she is, Kate definitely has her Dads personality.

She’s not upper middle class, her step Dad was wealthy, not even her actual Dad. You wouldn’t call the Rooneys posh just because they have money.

I very much disagree. I have always been 'humble' in the workplace but professional and always looking for opportunities, lots of post graduate study and professional development. I have always asked for pay rises in the private sector when I felt I deserved it (often) and always got it. I have also stepped sideways and started over in my early 40s accepting a much lower salary and a junior position as the role interested me. I am earning more than before that change now. You can be successful in the workplace and be nice and not showy/bossy, all the best people are. You want to be careful with the ones who talk and gossip a lot and put others down. Often they are less competent and poison the dynamics at work. That's my experience anyway.

❤️Carole. And why shouldn't she have heirs, she birthed the future queen consort ffs & her Grandchildren are all in line to the throne. More reason than most to have airs!

And?! She’s a former air hostess from a council estate lording it over everyone because her daughter married well? Her daughter is nice to people so why shouldn’t she be?!

Suzi89 · 11/01/2023 18:03

Kateforqueen · 11/01/2023 12:40

Completely agree with this. The Middleton's used education as a means to social mobility. More power to them. They invested heavily in their dc & raised beautiful children who won't let the side down.
Pippa's sister in law is Vogue William's ffs. With all Vogue & Spender's love of publicity they have never cashed in on their royal connections unlike chavvy H&M

Nope. It was their Grandparents that paid for their education (Michaels side), this is well known. They only started making money when the kids were already in their teens.
