If you look at photos from 2007/8 you can clearly see she has extensions now. They are fantastically well done!
i think it’s just the cut and styling of that time,
and straighteners ,
now she goes with a much bouncier hair style

queenofarles · 12/01/2023 14:47

Oh there are fresh photos from an engagement today , it’s very windy and her hair is wind
blown, no visible extension plugs to be seen .

She has extensions, that’s been established numerous times previously.

monsteramunch · 12/01/2023 14:51

@Pearsandclocks

Probably just having it done every day by a hairdresser. There is no way she has extensions.

I thinks she does, very good ones that sit beautifully. Not sure why you seem to think she definitely wouldn't? It's not a shameful thing to wear them.

Kateforqueen · 12/01/2023 11:56

@Iamthewombat from what the irish posters are saying is that there are very few private schools in Ireland & parents don't choose these for academics as state school options are good. Irish speaking schools attract a different demographic & are also a state option & any kids are free to go.
@mathanxiety is this correct as this poster thinks I'm being very snobby. Nothing is stopping any child attending an Irish language school, am I correct?

Nope, a PP said that the state pays all the teachers, irrespective of whether the school is state or private, and that the private schools spend the fees on extra teachers to bring down the staff to pupil ratio.

Why would any school do this unless they thought that it would improve exam results? That’s what the parents are paying for: improved exam results in exchange for fees. Not Irish language lessons. You’re not seriously suggesting that private schools in Ireland exist solely to teach the Irish language, are you?

Nothing shameful. I didn’t say that but she’s always had beautiful hair so not sure why anyone would think she does have them.

Suzi89 · 12/01/2023 15:30

She might just not heat style her hair so can grow it long? When I stopped straightening my hair I could grow long thick hair easily.

MintyFreshOne · 12/01/2023 15:41

Agree with others. It’s not shameful to wear extensions and hair pieces. It’s NORMAL for people in the public eye.

Agree. I’m older than Kate and have long thick hair as do my girls and my 2 sisters. Just because someone has long hair doesn’t mean it’s extensions. It looks natural to me.

Who said it was shameful?

Cariadz · 12/01/2023 15:53

How can a person tell if someone has hair extensions just by looking at their hair.

eggandonion · 12/01/2023 16:15

Didn't Princess Margaret have hairpieces? And all those regency types?
Princess Anne has the most amazing hairdo amongst current royals. I wonder what sort of hair Diana would have now.

Google is your friend. Lots of hairdressers have previously discussed this over the years. It has been in numerous online pieces.

HangoverSquare · 12/01/2023 16:17

if she's had botox I can't see her being averse to a few hair extensions.

Exactly.

She has extensions, had her teeth done cosmetically and has Botox. As do millions of others. She has a PT, sticks to a strict diet (fair play to her). She is a good looking woman and has enhancements. Not a big deal surely.

There are no such thing as “extension plugs”. Maybe you’re getting mixed up with hair transplant plugs that Willy defo hasn’t had.

It’s teeny tiny keratin bonds that are practically invisible if you have them done by an expert. They put very very few in the sides of the hair near the hairline. I can actually see a tiny pinch on the side of her hair in today’s photo that could be one.

I am from the general Dalkey/Killiney area, @Pottyaboutplants. But that's not why I'm UMC, and not everyone from that neck of the woods is. Vogue is MC.

The only Irish person I knòw who describes themselves in terms of class is someone who would have been known as 'Anglo-Irish' in old parlance. He has an English accent though his family has been here for ages. If anyone is old enough to remember, he's someone like the George character from Glenroe, or his niece Fiona.

There are going to be other types of rich, snobby Irish people obviously, they just don't usually describe themselves as UMC, or any sort of class.

JoyPeaceHealth · 12/01/2023 16:55

Oh yeh George from Glenroe, I hated that stereotype. I'm church of Ireland and back in the early 90s I still occasionally had to explain to thick people that yes of course I am Irish. It's all changed in the last 30 years, nobody would ever doubt that now, but it was a lazy exaggerated stereotype. For every alan Stanford there are 500 church of Ireland people just blending in quietly. They couldn't represent that! No, in a time when coi people were a bit "othered" they served up George on Glenroe, sigh.

eggandonion · 12/01/2023 17:09

We mostly kept our heads down and worked hard.
I miss Glenroe and wish they would play constant repeats on a loop.
We have a local big house family, the men all went to St Columbas as boarders. The girls go to the local CoI secondary.
Im middle class. My kids went to the community school.
I was at an event with Prince Andrew about 20 years ago. He wasn't very chatty.

monsteramunch · 12/01/2023 17:14

Oh god @Pottyaboutplants careful, you might have all sorts of insults hurled at you for saying that! I remember a thread ages ago when people said there was 'no way' Kate would get Botox... despite it being clear she has. I think people think it's an insult (it's not) so got really defensive on her behalf. She's had work done and it's really well done in fact, no judgement here.

What I want to know is whether Carole, Pippa or Catherine use Elizabeth Arden face cream?

..... and whether they will continue to use it in the future?

Pottyaboutplants · 12/01/2023 17:21

Exactly. The same people might also refer to the ‘mainland. ’. <eyeroll>

I was going to say George from Glenroe 😆 😆
Yes as I think LadyEloise says, state pays some salaries in private and some admin fees, student fees then top those up to have more teachers and to support their independent, feeder, primary.

I have to bite and say I once worked in Sutton Park so v familiar with Santa Sabina also! I am now in a state school where I work just as hard, use the same teaching methodologies and have colleagues that are just as committed as in the fee paying school. Plenty of faults but on the whole, our education system is one to be proud of in many ways.
