In the Telegraph today got to be worth a thread of its own. She is of course right !

OP posts:
JimHensonWasAGenius · 08/01/2023 12:47

It wasn't that long ago that ANY threads about H&M were immediately pulled.

I was only thinking yesterday how that stance had obviously changed.

Maybe Justine realised, like H&M and every other media outlet that there was money to be made out of such "vitriol"

What a fucking hypocrite.

Phrenologistsfinger · 08/01/2023 12:48

She’s not wrong!

StarInTheHeavens · 08/01/2023 12:55

I think mn'rs are being judged too harshly. Yes there can be lots of piling-on at times (on any subject), but Markle hasn't helped her cause with the proven lies she's told. People are entitled to have an opinion about members of the royal family that we support with our taxes.

VladmirsPoutine · 08/01/2023 12:59

Even on the threads discussing some of Harry's unhealthy stories the blame always goes back to Meghan. People genuinely believe he has no agency and it's all Meghan's fault. People are actually foretelling their divorce, indeed even hoping it happens to they can paint her as a witch thus offering Harry a redemption arc. It's all very bizarre but quite easily understandable.

ObsidianBlock · 08/01/2023 13:08

There is some satisfaction to be gained by people who think they're calling out H and M for their behaviour, are getting pretty upset at being called out for their own behaviour.

Yes I think this surprised a few

Are Ludo and Boudicca names in I'm so out of touch I haven't a clue...

OP posts:
LadyWithLapdog · 08/01/2023 13:55

I saw on the ‘gas & air’ thread how someone is asking why Meghan condoned H using it. Like 100% of people on this thread, I have no idea what went on, as I wasn’t there and I haven’t read the book, whether in English or in Spanish. However, I wouldn’t spitefully blame a woman in labour, busy with her own thing, for not keeping an eye on her spouse.

LadyWithLapdog · 08/01/2023 13:57

I don’t know about Ludo & Boudicca, I’m not MC enough to know, or care 😂

Please stop with the incorrect usage of word salad. Those of us with loved ones, or even probably some on mn, who exhibit the symptom of word salad are not in a good place mentally when it happens. It’s a sign of mental illness or other types of illness. Don’t minimise this by applying it to someone who does not answer the question to your satisfaction.

Word salad may describe a symptom of neurological or psychiatric conditions in which a person attempts to communicate an idea, but words and phrases that may appear to be random and unrelated come out in an incoherent sequence instead.

Word salad - Wikipedia

Interesting, I had never heard of this.

My Dh and dc do this sometimes/often. Is it related any particular condition?

Noonesperfect · 08/01/2023 14:00

@bythegrace "Yep, it must be all those people she's murdered, kittens she's kicked, old ladies she's robbed. A terrible person indeed 🙄."

🤣🤣🤣

MrsSkylerWhite · 08/01/2023 14:02

She’s right.

Meghan is a terrible person“

You clearly know the woman personally, in order to reach such a conclusion.

TooBigForMyBoots · 08/01/2023 14:04

She's right. The level of hate towards MM is deranged.

Forthelast · 08/01/2023 14:11

NerrSnerr · 08/01/2023 10:12

It's not the story that's comparable, it's the response of some Mumsnetters that she is comparing. It's the obsessive analysis of every single thing.

Poor taste to raise the subject.

keepaweatheredeye · 08/01/2023 14:18

There was a disgusting thread yesterday that was deleted due to the number of vitriolic comments about Meghans miscarriage.

Deranged is the right word here. The level of hate people have for someone they've never met is completely mental.

So glad that was deleted, I was one of hopefully many who reported it. I am shocked at who I share this planet with sometimes. It’s just beyond me how anyone could post what I saw on there yesterday. And there were plenty of posters doing it.

materialgworl · 08/01/2023 14:23

I remember reporting some threads on MM and HQ saying it's all ok. She enabled it for traffic.

TizerorFizz · 08/01/2023 14:23

To be fair, she makes money out of comments. If everyone had the same opinion I think MN would be odd. If you don’t want comments on the RF don’t have a RF section! Then everyone will be huggy fluffy on other subjects.

LlynTegid · 08/01/2023 14:26

I'm not sure deranged is the best description, but the threads have reached a ridiculous level.

This is what gets me. Doesn’t matter what Harry says or does. Some posters always find a way to blame Meghan. Even a thread about William’s alleged affairs turned into an anti Meghan pile on
They are not only hoping for a divorce, some have even predicted how assets will be shared.

The infantilising of a man who is knocking forty is ridiculous. Harry knows what he wants. We have had this image of him as a lovely but dim individual which is obviously not who he is.
Even if he and Meghan were to divorce, I cannot see him coming back to live in Britain .

Lampzade · 08/01/2023 14:38

Maximinimalist · 08/01/2023 12:14

She is right and it makes me very angry that these people set the tone abroad for who we are. Outside of the UK we are seen as deranged bigots. I never in my life thought we would be portrayed on the world stage as ignorant, uneducated people. I thought that title belonged to people living in the deep, Deep South of America.

You are absolutely right. They see us as a bunch of racists.
I have family in America and they are shocked by the level of vitriol.

LlynTegid · Today 14:26

Deranged is absolutely the best description.
What else would you call harbouring such intense hatred for a person you don’t know, are never likely to and whose existence has no consequence on your life?

TizerorFizz · 08/01/2023 14:43

Hmm. And Americans know nothing about vitriol and anger? That’s just ludicrous. All presidents suffer from comments that are deranged. The gun ownership and use is deranged. I’m really not interested in what the USA thinks as they are hardly a squeaky clean nation - where did Black Lives Matter start and why?
