They announced the pregnancy at Eugenie’s wedding

I fucking told everyone this at the time! Everyone was like “no way, the press are just being mean to Meghan she would never do that”

Harry has confirmed she did.

DICK MOVE from the two of them. I can see the MN thread now “it was my wedding and my bastard cousin stood up and announced the pregnancy and stole my limelight”

Sarah Ferguson made her anger clear to them about them taking the attention away from Eugenie and Jack - according to 'sources close to the Yorks'. (Press quote)

I remember she put up a pic of the wedding (or might have been Beatrice’s?) on some sort of H&M event/special date, and didn’t acknowledge it (can’t remember what the event was)

And people were saying it was her way of making a point/getting back at them for Eugenies wedding.

Hello I was a defender and yes cringing!!!

You weren’t alone but not sure everyone will admit it . Some of the diehard fans will still say H and M are victims and that critics are DM reading , racist meanies .

Or maybe, she is worried about her cousin and didn’t want to give a reason for her to be frozen out of his life.

I know I’ve slapped a smile on and pretended in order to keep relations open with friends I’ve been worried about.

That seems very far fetched, I have attended weddings and birthdays where someone has announced a pregnancy or other significant event and nobody died! The idea of a sacred bride is something I’ve only seen on here and on the telly, same with no babies at weddings.

But tbh, none of us know for sure. That is my point, there is no need to manipulate everything they do when the reality is, none of us actually know! It is just as likely that H&M account is true but it seems everyone is tying themselves in knots to say otherwise. The media as always, are manipulating a narrative and the RF are colliding because that is what they have always done, it serves them for H&M to be vilified whether they are being truthful or not. I am not a fan of theirs but it really isn’t difficult to see what’s happening.

GuyFawkesDay · 06/01/2023 22:04

Pissing on other people's chips like that is just a horrible, selfish thing to do

Backstreetsbackalrightdadada · 06/01/2023 22:05

Hi! :) I’m not even a royalist but always felt bad for her. This book is HIS written by HIM, he finally has control of the narrative… and omg it’s so much worse than I could ever imagine. It’s like he was a posh member of the League of Gentlemen. I honestly always felt suspicious of him as hated his use of slurs then and now and dressing as hitler (and people called me petty…huh). I’m reserving judgement of her as he just seems like such a liability and embarrassing her. If I was her I’d walk away.

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 06/01/2023 22:06

Is it me, or would anyone else honestly not have been bothered if a relative had announced a pregnancy at their wedding? Just a reason for more celebratory champagne, IMO - except for the pregnant one, of course.

ok.
imagine she was absolutely enraged by it, and told Harry so. How do you think that would go?
She’d be frozen out by the couple, as have any other family member of Harry’s who has voiced any concern for not being “supportive”.

she will 100% walk away, the question is when….

I also thought it was the media were making it up about the announcement at the wedding.😮

In the white dress 4 days after Eugenie wedding where she wore the coat open over her tummy.

They announced the pregnancy at Eugenie’s wedding
Powertoyou · 06/01/2023 22:11

Meghan spent the whole nine months holding her stomach when she was pregnant. Then there was all that nonsense when she went into labour and the press were waiting for an announcement and she had the baby a few days earlier. They think they are so clever.

IWineAndDontDine · 06/01/2023 22:12

cont · 06/01/2023 21:27

Imagine being pissed that someone else is pregnant, how petty. Also a bit narcissistic to have to be centre of attention, how fragile some people's egos are. She can announce her pregnancy whenever, it's happy news.

Agree with this. "Narcissistic" to mention to people the reason you aren't drinking the prossecco but not narcissistic to pay for a day to be ALL ABOUT ME and everyone has to look at ME and no one else can enjoy anything else if it doesn't involve ME. yawn. Find another reason to be annoyed at her.

TheCraicDealer · 06/01/2023 22:13

I remember people posting the day of the wedding “ooooh she looks pregnant in that coat”, and was like fgs give the woman a break she’s been married two minutes! Oh how wrong I was. She could have buttoned up the coat or even held her bag in front of her stomach, but she didn’t. In hindsight it looked very deliberate, especially when compared with the photographs from the later tour. I showed/bloated early with this pregnancy, but for a first time mum who’s physically very fit (yoga), wearing even light control knickers and a pair of high heels, any bump would have been negligible.

There were rumours at the time that Eugenie and Jack got engaged and hoped to marry in 2017 but had to delay to allow H&M to “go first”. If there’s an ounce of truth to that (there’s a Harpers Bazaar article on it) announcing a pregnancy like they did is even shittier behaviour.

JustAnotherManicMomday · 06/01/2023 21:52

Yes it was a shitty move. However given his honesty regarding this, it does make you think if his this honest about something that makes him look an arse that just maybe there's alot of truth in the rest of what his saying.

Or he has zero awareness of how his actions affect others….

I am sure he has some legitimate grievances - especially his younger years - as I am sure other royal members have, but so far he seems to not be able to acknowledge any fault in the fall out.

MandyMotherOfBrian · 06/01/2023 22:16

DisforDarkChocolate · 06/01/2023 21:26

She definitely looked pregnant, it was not the outfit.

Bullshit. I’ve been very willing to be on their side, til now, but she looked no more pregnant then than I do after a big lunch.
Total cunt move.

Jumbojade · 06/01/2023 22:17

Eugenie mustn’t have been bothered. She was upset with Beatrice announcing her pregnancy on H&M’s wedding anniversary!

BubziOwl · 06/01/2023 22:17

Aside from anything else, isn't it quite unusual to 'announce' a pregnancy at such an early stage?

Gilmorehill · 06/01/2023 22:17

So many posters on MN argued that this was a made up story and those who believed it were ‘haters’. I can’t believe H actually confirmed it. How rude and selfish.

ProceedWithOptimism · 06/01/2023 22:19

I don't know any bride who would give a shit about this. If anyone had announced a pregnancy at my wedding I'd have just been happy for them.

Rockmehardplace · 06/01/2023 22:19

im no massive fan of harry & meghan but im not sure what they did here was so terribly wrong.
At 6-8 weeks pregnant i was trying to pin my trousers together as i was HUGE with bloating, not bump. Maybe they just thought this was a good opportunity to see people in person to tell them the news, so went around each of the key players and quietly told them, rather than standing up and making a big scene stealing announcement as people seem to be implying.

I find it so amusing, he's just confirming rumours that make them look bad. He's a special kind of stupid 😐

I don’t think he realises what arses it makes them both look. He still thinks they are owed a grovelling apology by the RF.

comfyshoes2022 · 06/01/2023 22:21

But isn’t the fact that the DM has great sources a key part of the rift? Ie Harry and Meghan are mostly angry at William about his team “briefing” against them in the medi?

meinteresamucho · 06/01/2023 22:22

Really surprised nobody believed this in the press. There was a photo of Meghan with only the top two buttons of her coat done up from the wedding itself then Fergie reacted to their official pregnancy announcement with a photo of Eugenie and Jack from their wedding - it clearly looked like a tit for tat dig. I thought it was beyond obvious that it was true. Then it was confirmed in Finding Freedom which was obvious the couple contributed heavily to even before Meghan was forced to admit it in court. And it's the kind of thing there would have been multiple sources for. Find it astonishing that people write the press off without looking into the stories. Fair enough if that's all you're going to do but with so many people saying the mean stories could only have been based on racism when there was loads of evidence they were mostly all true has been surprising to me.

A relative announced her (very early) pregnancy at our engagement party and indeed suddenly she was the centre of attention. I don’t need to be in the spotlight at all but, knowing her, it was a shitty move to put her in the spotlight instead of me. I suspect M had the same motive.

MoscowMules · 06/01/2023 22:22

It's just bad manners and "not the done thing". It's a common socially acceptable thing that a wedding is the Bride and Groom's day to celebrate their union.

Not for other members of the family to announce things.

Maybe I'm old fashioned...
