And isn’t it weird to want a bit of it even if it’s offered? I definitely don’t want anyone’s hair when they die - no matter how much I love them! And there’s no way I’m dusting it all the time! 😂

William and Harry were given a lock of Diana's hair after her death. I read that somewhere today I think. I also think that Harry has not really come to terms with her death at all and needs more and better psychological help than he has had to this point

It was somewhere that his aunt clipped some Diana’s hair after her death for him and Willy ( couldn’t resist 😀) and gave them little boxes.
I wonder if only having hair helped them to conceive or were they doing something else to achieve that?

My dad died young and my mum says she was offered a clipping of his hair, and some for my sister and me. She declined and said we all had much better mementos of him to remember him by. It went over my head then at 21 years old. Now I'm grateful for my mother's wisdom

Yes but Harry seems to have an unusual relationship with memories of his mother. I mean I'd find it odd and a bit creepy if my DH wanted to keep his deceased dad's hair on the bedside table but each to their own.

The hair thing I think is fine. The seals thing is insane. The Meghan wanting a private moment with the grave reeks of insincerity and pure manipulation of Harry. All the “Meghan is SO like my mother stuff” is just Harry parroting the narrative he has been fed and eaten like the idiotic Labrador he is

I’m still here! I wasn’t sure if I would actually buy the book and read it but now I really want to, nothing so far seems inconsistent with how I imagined him anyway. It is absolutely no surprise to me whatsoever that he has taken drugs and lost his virginity behind a pub. This is big public school energy. Including any singing to seals.

I do think there’s a lot of sadness behind it all but I also like the ‘fuck it’ energy. I like that it’s reminded everyone that William and Kate are cut from the same cloth and aren’t saintly. We ALL KNEW THIS because we saw it when they were in their early twenties and Kate was out on the lash. I like Kate too!

we also know that Princess Margaret was a massive liability and famously a total bitch but she has an intriguing side too so I don’t understand that faux outrage about Harry.

I like that it’s covered everyone in a bit of shit basically, because like I said I like Kate (not so much William) but they are insufferably smug and WE KNOW that they are all involved in tawdry diva shit so it’s annoying that they wang on about being so wholesome- and I find it sickeningly deferential that so many people uphold that and insist W + K are above it all because they always look so well groomed.

Sarah Mc Corquodale (Diana's sister) cut a piece of Diana's hair for each of the boys and gave those to them in a small blue box on her return from Paris after Diana's death. (In the book apparently) Seems like a thoughtful thing for her to do I think.

Couldn’t care less about the drugs- it was pretty obvious - it’s the cringey details and utter weirdness. Megan cannot have read this - if she did, she’s either not ‘whip smart’ or she’s throwing him under a bus

On a more serious note there is something that touches me about someone being open about how much of a mess they are/have been and not really airbrushing it. It seems like someone who has had to spend most of their life airbrushing things and juts absolutely had enough and wants to go ‘full disclosure’.

I don’t think Harry is a role model or an especially interesting/relatable/original person but I still like him and feel like I can understand why he might have thought all this would be cathartic.

At one point I had sympathy, but now he's just a deranged back stabber. Fucking seals! Jesus wept.

If Harry really feels that Meghan warbling to seals (and them replying, apparently) is going to endear them to 99.9% of the currently hard pressed British people, he will be very disappointed I think. Even those of us who live close enough to seals to sing to them, if we wanted.

Pure manipulation sums it up, I recall reading a long time ago that on their first date Meghan wore the same perfume Diana used to wear. She's been doing a weird mummy number on him from day 1.

Surely they must have a trusted adviser somewhere that could have read it and gone ‘you sound bloody insane, get rid of the seals’. It just honestly sounds like someone taking the piss. There is a small part of me that is hoping it’s all a spoof.
