So Harry is worried about security and yet has written in his book that he’s killed 25 Talibans.
He is dangerous. He is dangerous to the UK, to his family and to himself
He seems intent to be stirring up hatred.
I am so glad that HM The Queen isn’t seeing this 🥹 All her years of service being trashed by someone she loved so much

He clearly doesn't care about everyone liking him and it's more important he tells 'his story'. Don't think it's that difficult to understand.

Of course he believes in the monarchy (his family) but it's not a stretch to think he'd be happy with a republic nation. All we are all doing is guessing. Picking a few sentences out of the media that are sensationalist with no context.

I genuinely can't understand why people are so angry. H and M have made a different choice. We'll never know the other side because they can't disclose because they are ' in service'.

Probably both as bad as each other. Still don't understand why people are so angry, neither H & M or the Royal family know or care you exist. Lets worry about the government, something that actually matters instead of zoning in on two people who feel they have been wronged. Don't read their articles, don't watch their series, don't read their book. Job done.

Yes to this. I think he basically wanted to get all this off his chest.

Maireas · 06/01/2023 18:49

I don't think people are angry. It's entertaining.
Some of the threads are hilarious.
No way is Harry a republican! He didn't want to leave, he wanted half in/half out "Sussex Royal" brand. Not Sussex Republican.

I got the bigger bedroom growing up but half my Dsis toys in the bedroom so we could play together...I loved the fact our dollhouse s were next to each other in my room or playroom. My sister bedroom was nicer as just her bits .three bedroom house, sister room the box room. Wonder if she hate me because of it...don't think so as we both adults.... Its what families do ...

I haven’t RTFT yet. The ghostwriter must be delighted. I wonder how carefully Harry or Meghan actually read this version of his ridiculous rants.

I have always thought he’s an unappealing idiot, and that she is a money-hungry, publicity-hungry schemer. Never met them, of course, like most commenting on here.

I never believed she ever saw him as anything but a means to an end, surely she now has, in print, enough indication that he’s completely bonkers to tip him over the edge once and for all, or to divorce and get full custody. Then there’s only the inconvenience of William and his children stopping Meghan from glorying in being mother of the heir to the throne.

I haven’t read a lot of autobiographies ghostwritten for men in the public eye. Can anyone recommend one that’s interesting and where they come across as likeable?

Bunnycat101 · 06/01/2023 22:55

Thing is he might be happy getting it all out there but at what cost to others. The press are desperately trying to find the horsey older women. I bet Chelsy Davy is being hounded by journos at the moment when she was probably well shot of the nonsense. There are lots of people who may well be collateral in the book that aren’t really the people he’s trying to attack. He must know that but doesn’t really care obviously.

I am SO glad the queen is not around to see this..

bakalava · 07/01/2023 10:07

I think his therapist may have told him that he needed to explore his shadow (his dark side) in order to integrate it with his good side and he interpreted it as offloading a huge pile of dirty laundry and airing it before a global audience. He missed the point because integrative therapy is an introspective practice and this will being him no closer to understanding himself which may hurt him badly. Then again, it is perfectly possible that there is not a lot of profound exploration available to either of them and they are primarily prettified shells gravitating towards external admiration.

I hesitate to mention Jung given that he has a wife who pretended to understand Jung and developed a whole series of podcasts to demonstrate it but embarrassingly, never got it at all.

Ah! Perhaps that’s how she got muddled about archetypes in the first place!

It's sad that this was being drafted while she was alive and presumably an expectation she would hear of it. But then again, they gave the OW interview while the DoE was very ill in hospital so I doubt it was a consideration for him.

Blip · 09/01/2023 13:36

Seemingly his end goal is to be the senior UK figure for the commonwealth but based in LA.

Stickytoff · 09/01/2023 17:18

I think he has said his end goal time and again.

  1. To tell his side of the story when he feels that the other side is being put out in a clandestine manner.

But on top of that I’d say he wants to financially secure his own families future. Also I suspect he wants to let his family know what his grievances are and see if they are willing to address them. You cannot begin to appreciate how frustrating the stonewalling he likely encountered was for him. Doing anything was likely to be much more therapeutic for him than keeping it all inside even if his family can never change a thing.

You see, I don't see any sign that he's feeling better from doing this. He still looks and sounds like nothing is resolved for him, plus people are now laughing at him and he's a bit of a joke. I'm not sure how that helps the ego of such a thin-skinned person. So I can't see how any of it is therapeutic.
On top of that, if his goal, as he says, is to get his father and brother back, this is a very poor strategy.
On the other hand, if his plan is to make as much money as possible selling his relatives, living and dead, (yeah classy move telling us what he said to his dead grandmother), then he's doing all the right things.
He really is a stand up guy.

Going back to the lipgloss incident, I suspect the grimace from Kate was more a look of surprise that Meghan hadn't brought a touch up kit, especially since it was a televised interview. Meghan was experienced in TV/ film appearances so a small make up kit should have been second nature I'd have thought.

According to Harry, its very common for Americans to forget their lip gloss and borrow others. Which is ridiculous. I mean, does he just believe blindly everything she says?

bakalava · 10/01/2023 11:38

Bruce Jenner used to get overly involved in female grooming and embellishment dilemmas on the Kardashians. Lip gloss, necklaces, dresses and such like. 😉

BlackFriday · 10/01/2023 22:30

I wonder what genetic imbalance Harry think that American citizens are afflicted with that make it common for them to forget their lipgloss.

It's a warm, huggy, bonding ritual that us cold, hygienic Brits couldn't understand. 😉

clyspa · 11/01/2023 05:05

I have come to think that the problem is not just about owning his own narrative.

I think Harry needs people to agree with him, hence the inability to say his piece once and move on and the multiple platforms and truth telling episodes.

I think I it also feeds into the 'and another thing' or clarification/adapting his narrative (depending how you see it) that is also perpetuating this strategy.

Ultimately he left the RF as an institution/ role 3 years ago now and seems to have since then not really done much about establishing a new purpose. He's changed countries etc but there something still of the exact same old royal approach to their 'work' - the visits and drop ins to this charity or that event.

I think he does need to drop the titles and the royal-esque staging of his way of working and focus on something rather than the somewhat scattergun approach.

I don't think the rift will heal soon but over time I think it will however I doubt it will entirely be as it was and maybe that's just as well given the feelings he's expressed about it all.

I think there comes a time when all the therapy and emoting and expressing has to conclude with just moving on.

MarshaBradyo · 11/01/2023 08:07

Now not taking responsibility for Taliban comment. He’s so frustrating, just constant comment - it’s someone else’s fault

Boulshired · 11/01/2023 08:26

After last night TV, I can’t see anything but his quest for money now, bigger PR teams, more spin. He’s a royal for hire

IfOnlyTheyMeantIt · 11/01/2023 08:45

I can't decide if he's the angriest man in the world, hellbent on revenge or on the verge of a mental breakdown.

I can't watch him. It makes me uncomfortable.

bakalava · 11/01/2023 09:54

He was rubbish on The Late Show. Bitter and paranoid, parroting her psychobabble. He is like an over-theraputized bot sucking up to Americans for likes and money. How is that any better?

bakalava · 11/01/2023 09:57

He was relishing the audience support, especially at the start. What a traitor to people who trusted and nurtured him: "I've had therapy, I'm superior to those press-enslaved idiots now. More shame them"

Sadly, I think it’s all three of those things. Watching him unravel so publicly is very sad.

I thought seeing the effect that his comments have had on safety for troops etc, and Invictus Game concerns might be the thing that got through to him. But he’s blaming the media rather than taking any account for what he’s said.

Sadly, I think he’s too lost and mentally unwell for anything other than a massive breakdown.
