Colour has nothing to do with it. A woman from an aristocratic background or umc like Kate would have understood the British royal family inside out & respected it. Like Chelsea & Cressida . They knew precisely what the role entailed & hotfooted it. Colour has nothing to do with background. Harry had lots of aristocratic friends who were girls but none wanted to be royals as they were educated enough in what the role actually is. Megan wanted the title, security & all the trappings of being a royal without doing any of the work involved!

Meghan has always worked.
To say that she was not prepared to work is a blatant lie. Both Meghan and Harry talked about ‘ boots on the ground’ during the engagement interview.
In fact, the work ethic put others in the RF to shame
It was unlikely that Chelsee and Harry would have married. She was regarded as undesirable due to the fact that her father was linked to Robert Mugabe.

Nurserymumm · 06/01/2023 10:19

@Lampzade yes agree with that unfortunately. He said in his book the Queen didn't approve of Chelsea.

My daughter is mixed race with blonde hair. How does hair colour have anything to do with skin colour?

Because my mixed race nieces have black hai r despite my brother being white blonde as a kid. I've only got an o'level in biology but black hair is the prominent gene from what I remember so it's very rare for a person who's got one parent of colour to not inherit that gene.

Lampzade · 06/01/2023 10:20

I remember reading somewhere that he wanted to date Alesha Dixon ( who is mixed race) but she wasn’t interested.
I don’t think that Harry has a particular type tbh

Rockybooboo · 06/01/2023 10:22

Nurserymumm · 06/01/2023 10:03

@Rockybooboo that was his type! It was well documented in the press. If he haf had a serious brunette gf she would have been mentioned too but he didn't!

I should think it was the fact that he hang out with white aristocrats. He then met Meghan and fell in love so he married her.

So by you assuming it’s very rare, that means it’s correct? My 2 sons are also blonde but I only mentioned DD as the thread is about women. My children have cousins with very light brown hair, blonde hair & black hair. It’s not as rare as you seem to think.

I imagine George “oh Daddy Uncle Harold is a silly billy isn’t he”

Andrew “well it isn’t me this time, whilst eating popcorn 🍿

Camilla - “let’s do shots everybody and forget about this nonsense”

to be a fly on the wall 👀

SO funny!

Meghan was a social climber, a go getter. She no doubt worked hard to work to continue to climb career wise and social circle wise. She built networks and used people in the current network for what they could do for her to help her achieve her goals and then she dropped them. Her network would keep evolving with more powerful and known people as she worked her way up. This is very typical for climbers who are focused on a climbing to the top goal - it is how most people get there.

I think her jump to Prince Harry and I think that was orchestrated through the network she had at the time, was a bigger jump than most. It is almost as though she reached the top too soon. I think she thought she would continue to work hard but continue to run things her way and power through people and it would be all her way. I am sure she thought she would do good with the position and power she now had but she didn't expect to be told that she no longer ran her own life and show. It seems she thought she could rebrand her branch of the RF as the Meghan brand and create her own little mini empire within the RF. She seems to have bristled against anything that wasn't how she wanted to do it. Harry clearly fell for her and saw her power and confidence and drive as something he could latch onto given he didn't seem to know how to use his own position or power and was drifting about. He had always been unhappy with his lot in life and to have Meghan validating that and her own frustration at the constraints against both of them made him see Meghan as his ticket out. He has been happy to let her lead and create the plan and narrative.

So many people are constrained in different ways by family or their lot in life. It is hard to break free and forge your own way. Most people try to do it in a way that protects relationships but I don't think that has ever been a goal of Meghan's or how she has lived her life. She is one of those people that just cut people off and move on - always looking forward and only wanting people who serve their needs in their life. I know a few people like that. I don't think though that is Harry's make-up. He is more emotionally connected. He though has bought into the mistreated victim mindset and that is how he is justifying for now what they are doing. At some point Meghan won't need Harry either. He will have maxed out his usefulness to her and he too will get left behind.

I have no idea on the statistics. But congratulations your children can now marry into the Royal family. Unfortunately the mixed race, black and Asian people I know have black and are not suitable due to their hair. Not that they'd want to, they know how much hate they'd get.

Isn't Kate a social climber as well. She changed university so she could be in the castle with a Prince and then hung round for him to say yes.

What do you mean?

Nurserymumm · 06/01/2023 11:00

@Rockybooboo In Meghan's defence she single handedly climbed the ranks herself with the help of her father & his contacts . The Middleton girls had a determined team behind them. Everything was carefully curated for them & James even down to the flat in London in their early 20s. If Kate hadn't married William she would have married another very wealthy man. Pippa lucked out.

I think the RF will be incredibly concerned about Harry, both about his mental health and the security of him and his family.

I really hope there's an intermediary at work behind the scenes to ensure their safety and security.

Kate met William in 2001 when she was 19, one year into adulthood. No, she wasn't a social climber. Was she enamoured with a Prince - yes, I am sure she was. Over the next decade, she had a chance to see the reality of what life would be like in the RF and she chose it and has dedicated herself to it since. If what she wanted was a prince and RF, she got that. But she didn't work her way up, she didn't use people and networks and then drop them. I don't really see any signs of her doing much social climbing.

Pansypotter123 · 06/01/2023 11:28

I wonder if the royals are now playing their own bingo: Another mention for you, Willy, oh, one for Kate, here's one for Anne..... oh poor Edward - he hasn't been mentioned yet.....

JoyPeaceHealth · 06/01/2023 11:35

Yes nothing about Sophie or Edward? Do they feel left out!?
I can't believe that there's nothing in there about Anne. Anne made comments early on about the younger royals and they were aimed at Meghan (I assumed) so I'd be surprised if there's not a dig at Anne

Sweetpeasaremadeforbees · 06/01/2023 11:38

Yes but even the Republicans (on here at least) seem to like Anne so they won't want to piss them off. Plus if they do come to the coronation they would have to face all the people they've slagged off.

Pansypotter123 · 06/01/2023 11:38

Anne has been mentioned as she took him to the Queen after she died but no digs..... yet..... as far as I am aware!

MoscowMules · 06/01/2023 11:49

I do hope someone can help Harry, would you not worry if your brother came out with the below:

He also writes about a conversation he had with Prince William, his brother, about how he feels their mother guided him towards Meghan, Duchess of Sussex.

"Willy took a step backward. His face looked concerned. It seems that went too far," Harry recalls, before claiming his brother responded with: "Well, Harold, I'm not so sure. I wouldn't say that."

He needs help, he thinks his dead mothers spirit guided him. This is all so sad and tragic really.

Anotherbloomingchristmas · 06/01/2023 05:29

Tbh I don't think it's particularly revelatory.

Brothers have a fight - not uncommon.
Dc don't want a stepmother. - normal.
In laws don't get on. - everyday occurrence.
Soldier goes to Afghanistan and kills members of Taliban.- to be expected.
Man loses virginity with older woman. - so what.
Just proves the RF dynamics are as complicated as most others.

It's hardly Robert the Bruce stuck in a cave
Or The man in the Iron Mask
Or The Princes in the Tower
Or 2 of the wives of Henry V111 being executed.

Pretty dull really.

Yes, TBH the Angevin Devil's Brood or the sons of George III would make all this seem quite tame, had the Internet been around then Grin

CPL593H · 06/01/2023 12:01

In seriousness, although totally exasperated by Harry, it is very sad and I genuinely hope his mental health is more robust than it seems at times. Driving through the Alma tunnel at the speed Diana's car was going when she was killed stood out to me as both reckless and tragic.

Sounds fucking stupid to me. What about other drivers around him?

Well, it is indeed fucking stupid. I've read today varying accounts (translations?) that say he got his chauffeur to do it (!!) another that he did it repeatedly. Not OK and does not speak of mental balance.

She’s not really a horsey type either is she?

17 year old boys/men are not picky to put it mildly.
