Elizabeth Arden cream on the todger? 🤣

Harry is a complete fool. A petulant child that never grew up. Now he has ruined himself psychologically. He'll undoubtedly become suicidal and is at far greater personal risk, as others said, by the boasting and crude manner in which he talks about his time in Afghanistan.
That the public had warmed to him at all is probably down to the British MSM. Perhaps he's always been a complete tosser. Bad, bad situation. His poor children. What a legacy to leave them!?

heartbroken22 · 06/01/2023 02:17

William ending up fighting with himself silly thinking he's fighting with Harry. Kate trying to stop him and then leaving to tend to the kids.

Charles moaning on Camillas lap thinking how awful it would have been if mummy was alive and saw this. Camilla trying to divert the topic back to tampons.

HamBone · 06/01/2023 02:20

And absolutely NO decent father says to their child “it’s time to look after Daddy”.

@Cranberrystreet Why not?

The Discussion in the Royal Households will be 20% about the Fight/Penis/Virginity/Diana and the gossip.

But 80% of the discussion will be about the Taliban remarks. That was an astonishingly stupid inclusion in the book. Hugely increasing risk to Harry and to his wife and children. The Palace will fear the implications for his security. There is a real risk of tragedy.

It will also alienate him from his Armed Forces colleagues who would never speak like that.

TBH, I think he needs a massive intervention. Guy Pelly or similar posh person needs to rescue him in the dead of night and smuggle him home to shit weather and proper tea.

This.

Guy Pelly, I'm so sorry but this made me giggle 😅

Relief.

The gun has backfired.

Not sure about that.
I don’t think that either party have come out of this looking good
Both Harry and William have mental health issues. William appears to have anger issues.
His temper has been documented previously. Harry has unresolved trauma

The anti Sussex brigade are trying their utmost to spin this to try and discredit Harry.
A future king assaulting his brother is not something to be proud of.
I would be interested to find out what else is in the book

Nobody expected the Spanish Translators…

My MN quip of the year vote 🗳 ❤

mackthepony · 06/01/2023 02:32

Surely it's just a poor translation??

Probably all trying to work out who he was behind the pub in the field with.

I'm channeling Hugh Grants old squeeze for some strange reason from the depths of my troubled mind misspent wasting time on all this stuff.

You can bet we have had all the best stuff already. Huge teams will be pouring over the guff to find headline worthy nuggets.

A genuinely honest account would be interesting.

But if the snippets are accurate then it’s clear that only a very biased, half-story is being told. It’s like Harry trying to rewrite history to make sure he’s only ever seen as the innocent victim.

I think all of his “truths” need to be taken with a huge wedge of salt because they appear to be designed to wound, and make himself look better in the process.

Its just a whole work of malice and spite. Both men have been irrevocably damaged by Diana’s death, and both have issues. But there’s only one loose cannon that seems to be spiralling dangerously, and that’s Harry.

I don’t know what Meghan’s role in all of this is, and I won’t jump to conclusions. But judging from what she’s said in interviews etc, it sounds as if she’s encouraging this madness.

daisychain01 · 06/01/2023 02:54

"Spare" will shortly be on widescale distribution in a charity shop near you Grin. It's already "on offer" for a tenner in WH Smith - all the juicy bits are already out there, so it seems pointless buying the book.

I think we need to find out more about what was written before we decide that Harry is portraying himself as an innocent victim.

Watch it become a bestseller

Why are they angry? I mean I get it, be discreet, but surely the guy really obviously has so many problems. And he’s just made them all worse.

He seems to be the only person who thinks he is carrying all this off.

The AF will probably have empathy.

For all we know Harry has undiagnosed PTSD, which is the most common condition that former serving military have to bear for the rest of their lives. That and having to deal with his mother's death at a young age. His life has been incredibly complex.

SpangledShambles · 06/01/2023 03:05

I would love it if they would ALL just be quiet for a bit. I’m so bored of not being able to read any paper without this irrelevant bullshit. There is more going on in the world.

Anon778833 · 06/01/2023 03:16

I don't think it makes Harry look bad. What this whole thing does is to shine a light on exactly why it's a joke that we still have a monarchy at all.

Why are we bowing and scraping to these nobodies from dysfunctional backgrounds?

This. His name is Henry, not Harold, by the way, but since when have MNers let accuracy get in the way of a good roasting?

Yesthatismychildsigh · 06/01/2023 03:24

Blossomtoes · 06/01/2023 01:21

I think they’ve been worrying about him for decades while they’ve been covering his numerous messes up.

They cover all their messes up if they’re ‘in’. If they’re ‘out’ they’re used as cannon fodder to deflect from the rest. Some family.

But he doesn't call himself Henry, he does, however, call himself Harold.

I got the impression he doesn't call himself Harold; that's a daft nickname others in the family call him. The point was that the mumsnetters are using it demeaningly to get their point across. "Be kind" except when it comes to the Sussexes, it seems. Everyone piling in to a couple who both seem mentally vulnerable. If they commit suicide no doubt the harpies will be laughing on here.

SnowlayRoundabout · 06/01/2023 04:35

I suspect they are quite sad that they have had to take the decision to cut him off completely. It's become inevitable, simply because there is no point having anything further to do with him because whatever they do will be used as book/interview/Netflix series fodder for an "Everyone's horrid to us" moan.

SnowlayRoundabout · 06/01/2023 04:46

FlowerArranger · 06/01/2023 01:20

I am concerned that all this might just drive Harry over the edge.

Where does he go from here? I can't see his marriage surviving, given that it must be Meg who is driving all these shitty revelations, and he has clearly burned his bridges with his blood family.

Seriously, where does he go from here? Is anyone looking out for him and getting him the help he desperately needs?

Very valid point. To date, the only thing he's actually been ashamed of is the Nazi uniform incident, and in his mind he's managed to make that OK by blaming it on William. In. years to come, he'll wake up in the night screaming at the memory of all this and he won't realistically be able to pass the blame on to anyone (except maybe Meghan), because I'm quite sure he has had repeated advice against what he is doing.

Nurserymumm · 06/01/2023 04:56

@SnowlayRoundabout I can't believe he had the audacity to blame the nazi uniform on Wills & Kate. He was a grown man with a very expensive education. Surely he studied some little bit of history at Eton. All his years receiving the worlds finest education & he hasn't an ounce of common sense.
