Based on the excerpts, which admittedly have been quickly translated from Spanish, the whole thing reads like a spoof.

Harry comes across as dumb. I mean Harold landing with his arse in the dog bowl, getting his bottom spanked by a mature lady in the field behind the pub, oversharing on his penile frost bite and saying he is not embarrassed about killing 25 Afghans chess figures while trying to justify why Meg is using sexist language and bullying 3 year old Charlotte into not wearing tights. It's all absurd.

I hope Carol, Pippa and Kate have a thorough laugh about his brain dump. It would be a shame if all this affected King Charles' or indeed William's health and I hope they are all getting the support they need.

I'm sure Carol, Kate and Charles are just fine. What about Harry's health ??

Nurserymumm · 06/01/2023 00:56

@lollipoprainbow his frostbitten todger seems in working order again😏

What about Harry’s health? Any fallout from this - and I expect it to be considerable - is self inflicted wounds. Nobody made him put his name to a memoir that seems to be attracting the world’s derision.

For his family it must be worrying.

notangelinajolie · 06/01/2023 01:10

I think the palace will be saying hallelujah to the Spanish translators.

notangelinajolie · 06/01/2023 01:12

It’s all gone terribly wrong for the Sussex’s hasn’t it?

Blossomtoes · 06/01/2023 01:13

Yes, it must be. I imagine the King is beside himself with worry to see his son so obviously and publicly unwell. It’s every parent’s nightmare.

Abdicate the Crown become just another rich aristocratic family with no constitutional significance and let this end once and for all now.

FlowerArranger · 06/01/2023 01:20

I am concerned that all this might just drive Harry over the edge.

Where does he go from here? I can't see his marriage surviving, given that it must be Meg who is driving all these shitty revelations, and he has clearly burned his bridges with his blood family.

Seriously, where does he go from here? Is anyone looking out for him and getting him the help he desperately needs?

I think the RF would have been wise to “worry” about Harry and his role a long time ago before all of this happened tbh.

I think they’ve been worrying about him for decades while they’ve been covering his numerous messes up.

I think they had him well minded. They couldn’t account for the fact he met a girl and left. You can’t control everything.

theynwere obviously hugely managing Harry and more or less keeping him on an even keel.

In the end the family will always have him back.

mackthepony · 06/01/2023 01:24

Am I right, Spare hasn't been released yet in the UK? But has in Spain?

Hasta la vista Harry

Cranberrystreet · 06/01/2023 01:26

While covering their own tracks more like it!

Carouselfish · 06/01/2023 01:27

It all reminds me of when Tom Cruise sacked his PR and hired his sister and started jumping on a sofa. Just become too insular to understand how off-kilter they come across.

BootifulLoser · 06/01/2023 01:31

threecupsofteaminimum · 05/01/2023 22:31

The press have sensationalised un contextualised tit bits as gory headlines and its had the desired effective see.

Maybe read the book in its own terms before you start with the accusations of 'he's lost it'.

You sound like a bunch of crows.

Agree! I had to leave a gathering of my BFFs this evening as they wouldn't shut up about it. They were talking as if they knew Harry and Megan personally! My suggestion that perhaps the press had taken some things out of context and magnified them fell on deaf ears.

Menomenon · 06/01/2023 01:33

The Discussion in the Royal Households will be 20% about the Fight/Penis/Virginity/Diana and the gossip.

But 80% of the discussion will be about the Taliban remarks. That was an astonishingly stupid inclusion in the book. Hugely increasing risk to Harry and to his wife and children. The Palace will fear the implications for his security. There is a real risk of tragedy.

It will also alienate him from his Armed Forces colleagues who would never speak like that.

TBH, I think he needs a massive intervention. Guy Pelly or similar posh person needs to rescue him in the dead of night and smuggle him home to shit weather and proper tea.

Nobody expected the Spanish Translators…

Blossomtoes · 06/01/2023 01:36

It has. The Army Rumour Service is buzzing with it. They’re very angry.

Cranberrystreet · 06/01/2023 01:37

I’d be interested to know how the book came to be sold early by mistake
in Spain.

Why are they angry? I mean I get it, be discreet, but surely the guy really obviously has so many problems. And he’s just made them all worse.

He seems to be the only person who thinks he is carrying all this off.

They’re angry because they think he’s endangered all our lives. A huge public event is coming up in May. An event he might be attending. London will be rammed with people, including vast amounts of troops.

Menomenon · 06/01/2023 01:54

That increased threat to security is another good reason for the Sussexes not to attend.

I can’t get over the stupidity. How did their advisors not do a risk assessment on the Afghanistan stuff? It wildly increases the possibility of a tragedy.
