Meghan WAS banned from Balmoral after Queen’s death

In his book, Harry also claims that his father told him that Meghan should not come to Balmoral. The Queen was staying at her Scottish estate when she died last September.

The prince wrote: "Then my father called again. He told me I was welcome at Balmoral, but… without her. He started to explain his reasons, but they didn't make any sense at all, and it was disrespectful as well. I did not tolerate it from him.

"Don't even think about talking about my wife like that.

"Repentant, he said, stammering, that he simply didn't want the place to be full of people. Nobody's wife was going to go, not even Kate, he told me, so Meg shouldn't either."

I say this seriously. I think you may be right. He is like a time bomb, and has been for longer than Meghan has been around IMO. I am starting to think he does have PTSD, both from his childhood and his military service.

The good news is, here in the US, several states have loosened the legality of having psilocybin (mushrooms). There are a ton of studies that are showing microdosing helps ex-military with PTSD.

If he is serious about getting better, he will find an amazing therapist and doctor that can treat his PTSD,

I think he’s just unintelligent and pampered and he’s never heard the word no. He was apparently coddled in the military, they weren’t going to risk him dying. If he had actually PTSD symptoms like night terrors he’d have told the world by now.

Also that use of the word “repentant” is provocative and unprovable.

how can Harold know Charles felt repentant? He could have been thinking “oh no not another fight over Meghan, today or all days” so was trying to smooth things over. He could have been expressing “sorry” in the very English way we say “sorry” for everything when we aren’t actually sorry, what we mean is we just don’t want the other person to be upset.

This book could be pulled apart by an English A level student. It’s rubbish.

Yep. I apologised when I walked into a mannequin today. I am not repentant.

It definitely was well known at the time. That is why he got there late.

KM wasn't there because it was Louis's first day at school. No other grandchildren were there. Let alone their spouses.

I thought it was Tony Blair who wanted Harry and William to walk?

ThighMistress · 05/01/2023 21:42

Meghan must have the hide of a rhino to want to come face to face with all the royals at the Queen’s deathbed. I mean, what normal person would dream of turning up? You’d be too awkward and embarrassed. And to still want to go after Charles had said no? Cringe!

Butchyrestingface · 05/01/2023 21:43

Increasingly beginning to think Harry is as thick as pigshite.

That's no criticism of his wife. Can't blame her for that.

Tony Blair and Harry. Prince Philip very viscerally told Tony Blair to fuck off when he wanted Harry and William to come back to London in the wake of their mother's death.

Maireas · 05/01/2023 21:44

I think if he hadn't been allowed to follow his mother's coffin he would have been bitter about that.
I thought it was Prince Philip who urged Harry and William to do it, because he himself had walked behind his favourite sister's coffin when he was a teenager.
Who knows. We'll probably never know the truth.

Meghan never wanted to go to Balmoral when the Queen was alive so why go when she was dying ?

AnnieFarmer · 05/01/2023 21:45

Grumpybutfunny · 05/01/2023 21:12

I'm sure he's having some kind of mental break down.

I do too, sadly.

Volkswagenitalia · 05/01/2023 21:46

Harry surely wasn't surprised that they didn't want Meghan there? The Queen had just died, the absolute last thing anyone needed was the awkwardness that Meghans presence would bring - and why would she want to be there anyway?!

And Harry seems to lack any empathy at all in that extract, it's always about him and his feelings and how everyone is so awful to him isn't it? Zero self awareness there all!

Coxspurplepippin · 05/01/2023 21:46

Maireas, I think the general consensus is that Harry wanted to walk behind his mother's coffin, William didn't. Prince Philip told William he would support William and Harry if they walked behind the coffin by walking with them, which he obviously did.

BethJ62 · 05/01/2023 21:46

Slightly off topic but Scobie is very quiet today !

Northernlurker · 05/01/2023 21:47

There are different versions of the coffin story. The one that rings true for me is where Harry wanted to walk, William didn't. That fits with their characters as apparent at that time. Supposedly Prince Philip though William might regret it and offered to walk with him to support.

Gilmorehill · 05/01/2023 21:47

I did not tolerate it.
What an unfeeling arrogant prick. Poor KC.

Quite frankly, I can’t imagine Anne would have wanted her their either. Anne is famously direct to the point, I’d love to be a fly on the wall for her response to this,

I bet the air is blue at Gatcombe Park tonight 🤣🤣

Northernlurker · 05/01/2023 21:47

@Coxspurplepippin x posted and in agreement!

The thicker he is the easier he is to manipulate innit !

If that is the case, marijuana is legal in many states. 😅

Thanks, that sounds about right.
I'm sure that the boys were given a choice. A difficult one, nonetheless.

Free publicity !

CantStartaFireWithoutaSpark · 05/01/2023 21:49

well, if he thought that the private family time when the queen died would be publicised by Meghan, obviously he wouldn’t want her there. What he didn’t bargain for was his son to do it instead.
No one wants someone they don’t like at a very vulnerable and sad time. N

Funnily enough, I was thinking, "pity I didn't meet him instead of Megs - he'd be soooo easy to manipulate..." Grin

I hope that’s not an exact extract. I really want to know what these reasons were that KC was giving. I’m sure I can’t be the only one

Northernlurker · 05/01/2023 21:53

In regard to this issue I note:

The Kensington palace team were calling Harry 'the hostage' very early on

The Queen had 4 children, 8 grandchildren and a very dearly loved nephew and niece. Most of which have spouses. If they'd all tried to turn up Balmoral would have been overwhelmed. The grandchildren did go later in the week.

At the point the Queen died the whole family knew Harry and Meghan were recording anything that happened to them and were prepared to talk publicly about it.

Bearing all that in mind I think the King was pretty restrained actually......
