Meghan WAS banned from Balmoral after Queen’s death

In his book, Harry also claims that his father told him that Meghan should not come to Balmoral. The Queen was staying at her Scottish estate when she died last September.

The prince wrote: "Then my father called again. He told me I was welcome at Balmoral, but… without her. He started to explain his reasons, but they didn't make any sense at all, and it was disrespectful as well. I did not tolerate it from him.

"Don't even think about talking about my wife like that.

"Repentant, he said, stammering, that he simply didn't want the place to be full of people. Nobody's wife was going to go, not even Kate, he told me, so Meg shouldn't either."

So the Queen is dead and all he cares to push his father so his Queenie wife can come?

How can it be true that "no-one's wife" would be there, when Sophie was?

HM's children had their spouses there, Tim Lawrence and Camilla were already in Scotland. Harry's strop was that his wife, a granddaughter-in-law should be there when none of the other grandchildren's spouses were there.

Return2thebasic · 05/01/2023 23:56

If the netflix show has earned them any sympathy (particularly in the States), I'm afraid after this book (if really as leaked) would make not one sane soul/business want to be associated with them. Just self destruction in full display.

Is the published book really what they approved???

PicturesOfDogs · 05/01/2023 23:56

You know what, it doesn’t matter whose wife was there.
Nobody has to justify themselves to fucking Harry.
She wasn’t welcome, end of.

I can't find this post?

From my understanding at the time:

Charles and Camilla were already staying nearby at Birkhall on the Barmoral Estate, Camilla stayed at Birkhall and did not attend.

Anne and Tim had been at an Engagement nearby and had returned to Balmoral as Anne was supposed to be meeting the Queen. No idea if they were staying at another property or at Balmoral but Tim would have stayed in his own rooms or something, not gone in to the Queens rooms.

It was common knowledge that the Queen viewed Sophie as her second daughter as they were that close so it makes perfect sense for Sophie to be there.

Harry and Megan had already done the Oprah show and had turned down two seperate invitations to see the Queen that year. One was when they were "close", in Manchester I believe.

So the only inlaw that would have been at the Queens bedside would have been the second daughter, everyone else was a blood relative. It would make no sense for Meghan to be there.

Coronateachingagain · 05/01/2023 23:59

It would have been so much easier for this pair to save face and take the opportunity for Meghan to stay behind with a good excuse. Instead the choose to be offended and feel humiliated.

@Legrandetraitor Well if you implied they singled Meghan/Harry out in not letting Meghan come that time, then that doesn't sound like it was accurate.

I think Kate stayed away tactically so it didn’t look like only Meghan was being excluded. And Meghan was excluded because everybody hated her and therefore it would have been utterly inappropriate!

The Saint Kate narrative is predictable and laughable.

She did stay behind.

I think he’s just unintelligent and pampered and he’s never heard the word no. He was apparently coddled in the military, they weren’t going to risk him dying. If he had actually PTSD symptoms like night terrors he’d have told the world by now.

Night terrors are one possible symptom of PTSD. The lack thereof does not rule out PTSD. www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/post-traumatic-stress-disorder/symptoms-causes/syc-20355967. It is pretty clear Harry has PTSD.

I seriously doubt if Kate wanted to come Charles would have had the same reaction. My guess is the reason Kate wasn’t there was so they could make sure they’d be able to refuse Meghan coming.

You’re allowed to be controlling when your parent’s dying. If you don’t want someone there, they’re not there. End of.

Of course she felt ''Offended'' and ''Humiliated''..That was the agenda.
To play the victim yet again, with a tear artfully pushed out of her left eye.

No one wants strangers around their Death Bed, our dad when dying didn't want someone's wife there, because he felt vulnerable.

Likely the Queen felt the same.

BradfordGirl · 06/01/2023 00:08

@OldFan Most at the time were saying - oh Kate can't come because it is her kids first day at school, but of course she could have gone if she wanted to. Meghan would have been able to go but is no doubt throwing a fit and making demands they don't want to meet.

When the truth is they were told they could not go. Exactly what she said, and was rubbished for it.

At the time the Palace said Kate could not go as it was the kids first day at school, but that seems to be a lie.

Absolutely right.

It's a very private, intimate time, Like a Birth, but the opposite end of the scale

Very strange behaviour. I hope your gran doesn’t die and you’re told not to bring your spouse by your dad lol.

How can you seriously type “Harry has PTSD” Are you are Psychologist?! You’ve never even met the man! Even trained professionals don’t diagnose from afar 🤦‍♀️ Embarrassing.

Pixiedust1234 · 06/01/2023 00:09

I stand corrected. Charles had stayed overnight at Dumfries House in Ayrshire.

Good on Charles for his controlling behaviour to ensure his mother’s death was not a spectacle, and so close family could grieve in peace. Somebody needed to control the situation to stop H&M from using the Queen’s death as another money spinner!

Lol. I’d have been horrified if the spouse of a family member… or a family member, who had caused a lot of grief had been present at my father’s death. It was difficult enough having to share the moment with his closest brother and spouse (I was a child).

My grans (both of them) and my dad are dead. Fortunately nobody unwanted attempted to muscle in on their death beds.

“Lol” The Queen didn’t like Meghan and was quoted as saying “Thank god Meghan wasn’t here”, why should a dying woman have to spend her last moments on earth with someone she doesn’t like?!
