All of these threads about a book that no-one has read yet?

OP posts:

I’ll be buying it.

Can we borrow it from the Library?

Maybe, take a look in the Fiction Section.

senua · 06/01/2023 09:15

Yes, but do realise that that way means that you are still putting some of our money into H&M's hands. They will get PLR money.
Wait for the charity shop versions.

rumship · 06/01/2023 09:19

I'm merely saying that the Great British Press are not known for their truthful reporting (understatement of the century) so all of this hysteria may be a little premature.

😂😂😂 Oh crikey the depths the stans will go to, in an attempt to deny the book is a disaster and the pair of grifters are now a laughing stock.

Shemovesshemoves21 · 06/01/2023 09:22

I have to agree. I'm ignoring the press coverage and waiting to read it myself. Then I'll read what the press has printed and make my own mind up. It's a sad situation all around, but I can understand why Harry and Meghan are doing what they are.

Would they get PLR as non-residents of the UK? PLR in NZ and Australia require you to be a resident to claim.

50shadesofneigh · 06/01/2023 10:11

I am reading it. In a variety of papers, not just the tabloids, to get as wide a flavour of extracts as possible. The Guardian thought they had the scoop, but were scuppered by Spain, so they must be pretty gutted!

Then I will borrow from the library or look for a second hand cheap copy. Can't wait for a giggle.

Not sure about the requirement to be resident but apparently the payment is limited to £6,600 p.a. However, that should be enough to pay for several dog bowls.

upinaballoon · 06/01/2023 10:33

At present the media will be throwing out the snippets they want to. One report yesterday added in the bit about William coming back to say sorry after the dog-bowl fracas and another report left that bit out.

pocketvenuss · 06/01/2023 10:49

Beees · 05/01/2023 18:07

What do you mean no ones read it? The media have obviously got their hands on plenty of copies. Why can't people comment on the extracts being printed?

Because extracts are taken out of context. The media are selective and manipulate the ignorant public.

Luredbyapomegranate · 05/01/2023 18:30

I think people are relying on the Sun to reliably pick out the juicy bits, and then they don’t have to pay 25 quid to read it.

Give it a couple of months and it'll be a fiver in The Works.

You do realise that the whole book is Harry throwing out "the snippets that he wants to".
Is anything verified? Given H&M's history of being economical with the truth and of contradicting themselves, I struggle to believe their version of anything.

StallionHarold · 06/01/2023 10:53

I'm happy to comment on what's been printed thus far.

There's no sign that any of it is spoof or bad mistranslation, is there?

StallionHarold · 06/01/2023 10:54

pocketvenuss · 06/01/2023 10:49

And you really think Harry wasn't selective?

BethJ62 · 06/01/2023 10:58

Am I right in saying there is no mention of W’s alleged affair ? I didn’t believe it but if it HAD happened I am pretty sure that Harold would have included it to make his brother look even worse .

the80sweregreat · 06/01/2023 11:13

I wondered if W 's alleged affair might surface too? Many on here think this is why they fell out etc
He seemed to get on with Kate , but that might have just been on Royal duties

Sweetpeasaremadeforbees · 06/01/2023 11:14

I think if H had mentioned an alleged affair (or Prince Andrew) it would be headlines. All of the MSM must have had speed readers translating the whole thing by now so I imagine the most 'explosive' things are out there.

He was clearly very close to Kate - dozens of photos of them together but it changed when Meghan appeared.

the80sweregreat · 06/01/2023 11:16

Maybe we will never know if William played away or not : it'll always be ' allegations' and rumors
Unless it's all in the next book ..

Exactly this reason why I'd rather read the book then read the clickbait headlines because its easy to take snippets of a paragraph etc. to sell a narrative

SirMingeALot · 06/01/2023 11:50

That's exactly the reason I don't want to read it lmao

Nimbostratus100 · 06/01/2023 11:53

o come on, who is going to pay and give up hours of their life to read the actual book. ANd who needs to, anyway

CousinKrispy · 06/01/2023 11:54

I'm not going to waste my time reading the thing ... but the stallion thread was comedic gold!

The rumour is that there is a super injunction in place regarding the affair- so it can’t be published about without penguin house being sued for quite a bit of money.
