I think it's natural and inevitable that people will look for the excerpts/commentary in the press and react to them. Discussion is raging and very few people have access to the whole book, even those who do want and intend to read it.
I agree, though, that some of It isn't being presented very irresponsibly or contextually.
I saw a headline yesterday saying Harry claims the Queen was a main cause of the breakup of his relationship with Chelsy Davy. The article/excerpts didn't support this; it was basically Harry talking about how he'd been impressed/envious of how Chelsy always did what she wanted and didn't worry about either conforming or rebelling. He did say he knew his grandmother and the public did not/would not approve of Chelsy and would have tried to change her if the two of them had stayed together, and he hadn't wanted that to happen. But she left him because she knew she couldn't live with the constant press/public scrutiny, and he said he would have done the same in her place.
I suspect the book will provide a great deal more context, but that won't be the interesting part for many people. And some commenters "in the wild" clearly haven't even read the actual excerpts (as distinct from the headlines), so I don't expect much from them.
> Can we borrow it from the Library?
> Yes, but do realise that that way means that you are still putting some of our money into H&M's hands. They will get PLR money. Wait for the charity shop versions.
This is the most "when I hear the word culture, I reach for my revolver" thing I've seen in a while. If you want to own a book, it obviously has some intrinsic value to you - why shouldn't the author and publisher profit?
