The Sun have got hold of a copy of the book that was accidently put on sale in Spain. They are clearly skimming it as fast as possible with a translator. They are reporting that W&H begged KC not to marry C, and that he thought she was leaking stories to the press.

Bloody hell.

I am glad the Queen is no longer here to witness Harry's latest indignity.

I wish I could say Harry has done the Queen proud, but the opposite must surely be true.

Oher · 05/01/2023 14:28

<Compares Meghan’s complaints about her father selling private family info to the media… To Harry’s behaviour>

🤔

Someone’s Resemblance to their mother has certainly not faded.

You know what makes me angry. The audacity of both parties to think any of this shit deserves a moment’s airtime.

The Joseph Rowntree Foundation estimates there are around 14.5 million people in this country in poverty. 4.3 million are thought to be children. These are 2022 figures so I’d imagine this has worsened with the cost of living crisis. The NHS is broken and people are dying in crowded hospital corridors or in their own homes because there’s no ambulances to come and help them.

Both sides of this sorry mess need a reality check. None of this is remotely important.

So true we are partying at the edge of a skip fire of our country possibly because if we didn't laugh we would cry. I predict there will be 10s of thousands protesting against the Coronation it will be a lightening rod particularly for youthful discontent.

It's such a shame that H&M obviously don't have a single trusted advisor that is willing to tell them when something is a bad idea.
If all the leaks are true then all they have managed to do is confirm that the RF thought M was difficult and rude; that M basically called Kate hormonal at the dress fitting; that H never takes responsibility for anything or has a moment of reflection.
The thing is they would still have sold tonnes of books if they had gone in the other direction eg now as a father, H understands why the family worried about a quick engagement but their happy marriage shows it was worth the risk; he's happy he had so many opportunities handed to him by being a prince; he's pleased he was given the chance to serve overseas (and sorry that the US media leaked it and ended it for him). People buy books about the RF no matter what. This book could have been his olive branch and opened the door to being the RF representatives in the US.

Plus they could have made money if Meghan started a new website, but this time including a lot of dish about dressing for royal engagements, her take on a wardrobe (plenty of people like her style), what the royals (british and otherwise) eat and exercise. She could have written nice inside scoops that hurt no-one if she's expanded her original lifestyle website. Or maybe not hurt too much : "flower girls wearing tights: the done thing or too old fashioned?", "15 recipes with bananas", and articles like that.

snapdragon12 · 05/01/2023 14:29

someone mentioned they're only getting a hard time on here and it's a different story on Twitter. Well, not my Twitter! I only follow a couple of accounts (not political or royal family commentators) and have a pretty inactive account (so I can read, not post) and almost every single post is in support of the RF and baffled as to what H&M are doing

It's such a shame that H&M obviously don't have a single trusted advisor that is willing to tell them when something is a bad idea

but they do, or did. They keep firing them, one commented ages ago it was impossible to work for them, as they only listened to each other, only heard each other, egged each other on, and ignored all the experts opinions. They think they know best. They literally sit at meetings and ignore their own advisors, listening only to each other and agreeing with each other.

they are even now doing their own pr, fired their agent, even though anyone with a brain cell can see how totally out of their depth and incapable they are.

its batshit.

Well, yy, I meant it's a shame there isn't one that they actually do trust enough to keep on staff and listen to. The fact they fire them means they don't trust them. (and tbh I'd have fired Sunshine Sachs - they made a complete mess of their PR).
H&M did have a golden opportunity to have a high profile, well paid life in the US. All they had to do was listen to Ross from Friends and 'pivot' Grin from grumpy discontents to happy, grateful, discreet socialites/philanthropists. The problem with shilling the family secrets is it means no-one with any power/influence/global reputation will risk working or chatting with you because they won't want to be in your next book or series. And if you're willing to sell out your family for thirty pieces of silver, no-one else can count on your loyalty.
But they are still within the privileged elite so they can cry into their diamonds about how badly they've misjudged everything.

Do you think he would have put “ his side of the story” had he and M been allowed the half in/ half out they wanted ? Let’s not forget there was absolutely NO mention of leaving the RF in their original Megxit statement.

They issued their half in half out statement before any discussions with the Queen as I understand it. Naive of them to make new decisions about how the institution would operate without checking first whether it was doable. Naive or an attempt to force the institution into doing what they wanted - a form of blackmail

FirstnameSuesecondnamePerb · 05/01/2023 14:32

It's like he has taken his ""book of angry thoughts" and given it to a ghost writer!

Hedjwitch · 05/01/2023 14:32

Harry was a trained soldier who served in Afghanistan. Whining that his big brother broke his necklace and shoved him onto his arse is pathetic. He is more than capable of defending himself in a tussle...or should be.

Tamarindtree · 05/01/2023 14:33

A quick google shows Harry pre marriage chatting and smiling with Camilla, so this latest revelation exposes him as being completely two faced if he wants us to believe him!

bakalava · 05/01/2023 14:33

It is the Hollywood D Lister way in that you can pay and pay to improve your own appearance and then cattily look down on those who don't with the superiority of someone who has been born looking that way. Since Harry's brain is now Meghan, he has had some work done just as she has had absolutely loads done herself and they DO look better for it. He does forget that only Unc Andrew has hair so is it another way in which he takes after him?

BradfordGirl · 05/01/2023 14:34

Why is that two faced? Plenty of adult children do not want their father to remarry, especially if their mother has died. It does not mean they do comedy glowering at the stepmum the whole time.

I have no idea if she is an alcoholic or not and would not like to guess.
But it is clear that both Camilla and Charles are heavy drinkers. There are plenty of middle aged and older people who do drink a lot of alcohol on a regular basis.

The Queen did 40 units a week until near the end when doctors told her to stop.

Of course they won't . It will bring millions in business for hospitality and tourism if nothing else. No one's going to be rioting fgs

Taxistaxing · 05/01/2023 14:39

I'm not a royalist and I think it's a shame Megan couldn't 'work' within the RF but now they are out, the more Harry says the bigger royalist I become. He is coming across as a pathetic backstabber. Let's face it, he has millions in the bank from Diana, so doesn't need to work and his Dad bought his house for him. Ffs, go away and shut up. Is it only Americans that lap up him going on about his mum all the time? Knocks me sick how he uses her name for publicity.

I thought it was already known that William was somewhat tricked into attending a lunch with Charles and Camilla that was leaked so as to be seen as William's approval of Camilla. It was discussed in that programme about Charles and Camilla's strategy to rehabilitate their reputations and make Camilla acceptable for the marriage.

Honestly, no one is coming out of this well.

It's 100% not up to Harry to reveal such information about William being deeply affected by this.

I predict you are wrong.

The yoof may not support the monarchy in great numbers, but they're not going to get off their arses and protest.

The Coronation will be a big success and attract global interest, just like the Jubilee. By contrast, the Prince of Pedigree Chum will be in a right predicament.

greenspaces4peace · 05/01/2023 13:46

It’s the press, depends when it happened and the context. Maybe the incident was 20 years ago or longer. I’m sure shortly after their moms death, two young boys asking dad not to remarry’s no big deal. After all she’s been in their lives forever.
All the shit stirring drama makes H look very immature.

He is immature, I am sick of them both.

Spect8 · 05/01/2023 14:40

Great entertainment. That is all the RF is good for now, and the frocks and jewels of course.

There is very little gravitas left in any of them.

LimeCheesecake · 05/01/2023 14:41

There was a lot of effort put in the “clean up Camila’s reputation” campaign that focussed on the idea that the boys didn’t mind their dad marrying Camila, so no one else had a right to question Charles marrying the woman who he had an affair with with hurt their mother. It was very effective at shutting down those who still grumbled about Diana’s treatment by Charles, the idea being it couldn’t have been that bad or the sons wouldn’t forgive her.

this does allow the press to bring back up all the complaints against Camila.

Given her close friendship with Clarkson (who felt it was ok to publish that article without fear of being cut out socially), and apparently Morgan too, Camila is pretty ripe for some bad press. Harry and Megan have done her a favour by keeping all negative press on them. Not sure it will last though.

GalwayShawl · 05/01/2023 13:42

I don’t this Harry will survive this mentally

The fallout will be immense

if Meghan ever leaves him…… she’s probably going to do the same thing to him

I fear that is more a case of when, not if. And he will be totally isolated without his family's support.
