The Sun have got hold of a copy of the book that was accidently put on sale in Spain. They are clearly skimming it as fast as possible with a translator. They are reporting that W&H begged KC not to marry C, and that he thought she was leaking stories to the press.

Bloody hell.

I have little interested in the overall dysfunctionality of the entire situation but it's very sad that Harry, regardless of his wrongdoings or those of others, appears to be having some sort of breakdown.

Everyone can see that he is eaten up with anger, rightly or wrongly and is seeing some sort of vengeance. He was right to remove himself from the situation but he is clearly bring exploited, albeit with his permission.

It's absolutely tragic that there isn't a family member or friend that is able to reason with him and get him the help he needs as his behaviour is so self destructive and worrying at this stage.

If his mental health doesn't survive this, it will be tragic. I think the publishers and Netflix etc, were all focusing on profit and sensationalism. It's wrong in so many ways and really needs to stop before it's too late.

He is not all alone, he has a WIFE! Why is she not taking care of him? If my husband was about to throw himself off the proverbial precipice, I would stop him. What on earth is she playing at?

Off topic, but I actually feel a bit sorry for James Hewitt; his life seems to have been defined by his affair with Diana and the claims that he's Harry's father. Doesn't the timeline suggest it is (a) Charles (b) Oliver Hoare (post affair D seems to have done the same slightly obsessive stalker thing with him as she later did to Hasnat Khan), or (c) AN Other, all pre JH? I wonder if JH could or has ever asked for a paternity test to put the rumours to bed (sorry, no pun intended.)As my granny would say, Diana got around a bit.

Yes I mean Diana was known as "the people's Princess" and rightly so!!!!!

Her own family is highly dysfunctional too. I think she encourages his work is me attitude as she doesn’t want a reconciliation. It doesn’t suit her agenda. She’s got exactly what she wants. A lovely home, two kids and loads of dosh. Unfortunately she may become disenchanted with living with a self absorbed angry man child eventually. That’s the downside. She doesn’t need to bother with her in laws and she has everything her own way.

Walnutwhipsarenothesame · 05/01/2023 21:48

Woe is Me! Work is me would be an improvement.

Do you think Harry would ever speak out about Andrew?.

I mean anything is possible

If he did, Eugenie and Beatrice wouldn’t speak to him again. So I’m guessing not.

Maireas · 05/01/2023 21:58

True. Plus he's friendly with Sarah Ferguson.
I think saying anything negative about Andrew would be a step too far for Harry

OhIdoLike2bBesideTheSeaside · 05/01/2023 21:58

GalwayShawl · 05/01/2023 13:42

I don’t this Harry will survive this mentally

The fallout will be immense

if Meghan ever leaves him…… she’s probably going to do the same thing to him

I'm preety sure the only reason M married H was to get as much as she could from it all and she will then divorce him and so a bit Netflix/book deal and probably Oprah again

She's probably had it planned all along

God, it's next isn't it. I'm not wishing a split on anyone but the damaged man and how she had to shine a light on her own freedom and wellbeing will be being penned as we speak.

Poor Harold. Done up like a kipper.

ArcaneWireless · 05/01/2023 22:07

‘Always been a weird competition between us due to the heir and spare thing?’ Only one competing. The other has already won that race.

And ‘staying silent won’t make it bedder.

Neither will acting like a dosser or a dwad.

Eh? She wasn't wearing a seat belt. The person in that crash who did wear one survived. That's what led to her death.

its not that simple, protection, and she wouldn't have got in the car with a drunk at the wheel, so wouldn't have been in a car that crashed, its a sliding door domino affect and in the thoughts of a boy growing up knowing his family wouldn't protect his mother as they stripped her of her HRH and left her to it

She refused official protection as she thought they were spying on her .

I despise the power the press has in this country - every single one of these threads highlight that. People parrot the likes of the DM without any critical thought at all - if the press can get the whole country to hate one woman for very little (what has she actually done? ) they are too powerful. We all should have a problem with that.

There's also a thread with wat people in other countries comment on them. On the whole it's not positive, although Meghan isn't singled out. In general people think that they're both entitled rich whingers. People in other countries don't tend to read the DM.

I think that it's just hard to listen to the complaints of people who had/have so many opportunities in their lives. They were both already rich as young adults and had successful work and side projects (the tig, invictus). They both got to travel. They already had more than most people. Yes there was some negativity but surely the positive things should outweigh that. They have each other, cute kids, (had) friends and family, good health and some fun money. Just get over a few nasty articles. There must have been at least 100 "waity katey" articles and that also passed.

Camilla does come across as a fairly awful person, to be fair. Keeping up an affair with a newly married man, friends with repugnant Clarkson. They are all a pretty grim lot, but people seem to love the soap opera. It is a distraction from our crumbling infrastructure I guess- perhaps H&M are in cahoots with Rishi Sunak to keep the state of the NHS off the front pages.

I agree. You have to be pretty hard faced to continue an affair where young dc are involved.

And she’s still briefing against Diana through various friends and contacts in the media.

My understanding was that she got rid of her security detail. And, of course, she had an affair with one of them.

Surely no one is dim enough to believe that the rich and privileged are protected from stress and poor mental health? Yes they have far fewer material problems than most, and no one should underestimate the privilege of being in that position, but it’s just not as simple as wealth = happiness. Think of all the rich celebrities we know who have killed themselves.

Being totally serious for a moment, and really I hope this is not the case, but I can see this debacle ending up very tragically indeed.

Roussette · 05/01/2023 22:28

thats not true, it's overtaken Wall St Journal, New York Times and USA today with over 45million online readers. It's huge!

Diana was very hard faced then. It was sad her apartment entrance was a revolving door.

Well those hoping he will bring down the Monarchy are going to be massively disappointed I think.

If anything the majority of the Public will rally round to show support for The King etc I believe, so very much an own goal HAM.

I disagree.

There are red flags for monarchy because of Charles and Camilla’s adultery. It undermines the 7th of the Ten Commandments, “Thou Shalt Not Commit Adultery” (Exodus 20:14)

Experts play down Coronation crisis fears after royal author Anthony Holden suggested King Charles's ceremony could be invalidated because of his 1994 affair confession: Holden wrote: 'The Church of England has never crowned a divorced man as King, let alone one who has publicly confessed to adultery – with the relevant woman expecting to be crowned Queen Consort.

This is very serious for the faith because it risks undermining the legitimacy of God’s Ten Commandments. I understand humans make mistakes, but this is a different problem because it’s a couple famous for committing adultery who want the crown (corona).

StClare101 · 05/01/2023 22:43

Mirabai · 05/01/2023 18:13

Agreed. She’d be laughing.

I really don’t think Diana would be laughing about Harry’s shots at William. They are both her sons and she would have wanted William to be King.
