The Sun have got hold of a copy of the book that was accidently put on sale in Spain. They are clearly skimming it as fast as possible with a translator. They are reporting that W&H begged KC not to marry C, and that he thought she was leaking stories to the press.

Bloody hell.

And the British public lapped it up headline after headline and villainised M&H. What was written about them was vile and the public couldn't bay loud enough for more of it every day.

Show one thing that was written about them that was negative? One thing that wasn't on social media, posted by trolls. I think you will find it hard to find something.

The British press, on the whole, were supportive of H's choice of wife. Any negative press came after her behaviour was 'questionable' as a result of the Oprah interview.

Oh Dear God. .. is this what gaslighting is?

I expected nothing, more from some posters but I'm still disappointed.

Blimey - from The Guardian

'Prince Harry describes how his sadness over the death of his mother, Princess Diana, led him to seek help from a woman who “claimed to have ‘powers’” and to be able to relay a message.

“You’re living the life she couldn’t,” Harry says the woman told him. “You’re living the life she wanted for you.”'

He's living her life. I've said this before. He didn't marry his Diana, he is his own Diana. He is re-enacting Diana's self destruction. All of this, the tell all interviews, the revelatory books is all Diana again. Her enemy was Charles, Camilla and the Firm, Harry's is the same, plus Kate and William thrown in for good measure. The life Diana could have had - living with her "unsuitable", ethnic minority suitor in a new, "modern" country that valued her for her celebrity and philanthropy is the life he's tried to emulate. But it's not quite worked out the way he thought it would, because he's not intelligent enough to understand that it would probably never have worked out for Diana either.

yahpahha · 05/01/2023 17:33

@MissMarpleRocks it was on sky news that William pointed his finger at Meghan saying something like "we don't talk like that in this family" and M said back something along the lines of "get your finger out my face" so in reading that I think it's meant to make William look aggressive. Well that's the way I read it anyway 🤷‍♀️

Cranberrystreet · 05/01/2023 17:33

Get a grip! It was 40 years ago. Diana had more affairs than Charles. They divorced and were friendly at the end. She's been dead for a quarter of a century and it's about time she was forgotten

Pretty unpleasant post. I am sure Diana's sons, family and friends wouldn't want her forgotten.

And the fact that she had affairs doesn't negate what was done to her by the institution of the monarchy when she was barely out of her teens in order to secure the heirs and the institution's survival.

No one is denying the fact that she had affairs. The wrongdoing was Charles and the institution trying to cover up Charles's long term relationship with Camilla and pretending it was all happy families in front of the cameras. How many of us would be happy going along with that?

TrashyPanda · 05/01/2023 17:35

Whatever anyone thinks of her, I've never heard her described as an unloving mother

yet at the time of her death, Diana was not speaking to her mother or her brother. And there were big falling outs with Fergie and Elton John.

Rushingfool · 05/01/2023 17:36

The rest of the mud slinging is just that - mud slinging, but writing about killing 25 Afghan soldiers is not very nice. No need to mention it - we all know, and regret, that people (sons, brothers, fathers) are killed in wars and to take proud ownership of that is rather unpleasant.

I'd have tried to stand in Harry's shoes over it all, if not for that.

healthadvice123 · 05/01/2023 17:36

@CoorieInByTheFire but he still keeps the titles and still wants his family money ? They are selling stories about their family no different to what meghans family have done so why is it not toxic for them but is fir her family?
He also says he believed in a royal family so again hypocritical
Also none of us know all the ins and outs of what happened and Diana was certainly no saint either although can't blame her , the marriage was always set to fail really and that interview he wanted removed becAuse of the damage it did to her , yet here he is doing the same thing
I think if Diana was alive she would be horrified at how her sons relationship has turned out and i don't think she would be encouraging all of this

Alltheprettyseahorses · 05/01/2023 16:41

There have been very nasty stories, briefings and royal comments about his mother lately in order to make Camilla look good which raised little or no concern so I'm quite bemused by the length of this thread and the attacks on Harry. It doesn't affect anyone here so why is everyone so bothered? Is it the middle-class alternative to footy?

^^. Absolutely this!

MistletoeandBaileys · 05/01/2023 17:38

I imagine Charles and William are apoplectic with anger right now. Not only has he slandered his brother, he has also dragged Camilla into it.

Charles won’t settle for Camilla being dragged like that.

Also I fell on a dog bowl has the same energy as my dog stepped on a bee.

It must be bloody uncomfortable on the point of that pin.

BethDuttonsTwin · 05/01/2023 17:27

Agree. Sobering stuff and by far the most foolhardy thing he’s said. Odd for someone who claims his raison d’être is protecting his family from all comers. How can he not realise?

If Harry really said he killed 25 Afghans/ Taliban that is incredibly foolish.

Yes, British Soldiers have been ruthlessly killed by Afghan/ Taliban, but to actively admit to killing 25 Taliban when worried about security is just off the scale idiocy.

OhIdoLike2bBesideTheSeaside · 05/01/2023 17:39

To be honest H&M are so full of shit nothing surprises me anymore

I don’t this Harry will survive this mentally

The fallout will be immense

if Meghan ever leaves him…… she’s probably going to do the same thing to him

Megan leaving Harry will only be a matter of time

He is obviously really hurt that the RF have been using him as a scapegoat for them. And the British public lapped it up headline after headline and villainised M&H. What was written about them was vile and the public couldn't bay loud enough for more of it every day.
Bit late to say its very sad its being played out in public. The royalists absolutely lapped it up. He is doing to them what they did to him.
There are no winners here

Yes. That's my take on it too.

But it’s not like people are going ‘oh no, that’s awful, can’t believe the RF did that’

The reaction so far just seems to be mockery of him.

Its a sad state of affairs all round, and I can’t believe he’s going to feel better.

What is it they say about digging two graves when seeking revenge?

mixedrecycling · 05/01/2023 17:40

TrashyPanda · 05/01/2023 17:28

No, not at all and I’m sorry if it read that way.

i meant Harry was nasty and spiteful to relate it.

No problem - and I did have two related posts that I didn't connect so was probably confusing!

bakalava · 05/01/2023 17:40

Could the stallion comments be to outdo Tampongate and Squidgygate? The RF are competitive about the strangest things. Shagging, bald patches ...

healthadvice123 · 05/01/2023 17:41

@ProserpinaProserpina I think its been said that Diana never met him until after Harrys birth ? But also Harry looks like his great grandad in many ways
And this was always an awful story to be in the media even when he was a child
This is where our press is just awful

CPL593H · 05/01/2023 17:42

I was reminded today, with all the shock horror about the altercation and how bad it looks for members of the RF to behave thus and how damaging it is (etc ) of Edward I.

He was rather annoyed about his son the PoW's friendship with Piers Gaveston and (while old and in failing health) pounced on him, tearing out chunks of his hair and I think called him "a whoreson misbegotten fellow".

We still have a RF. Wholesomeness only really started with Victoria and it is a matter of luck we got the "spares" George and VI and then Elizabeth.

barnbaby · 05/01/2023 17:42

@bakalava Prince H used to regularly get together with a Beaufort hunt groom so the stallion thing might be very apt! Both the brothers used to take their pick out here in the royal triangle (even when William was dating Kate.)

TrashyPanda · 05/01/2023 15:54

Harry has now revealed his true colours.

and they are murky and unattractive.

he’s a sulky, grudge bearing, petulent and dim man-child, always looking for a grudge to hold and smug because he is less bald than his brother.
i actually feel sorry for Meghan, because it must miserable living with such pathetic little man.

maybe the reason she seeks the limelight is to divert attention from him? His unattractive personality isn’t going to be very marketable.

You are incredibly personal about somebody you don't know and haven't met. Whatever your points are, if any, are being lost in your insults and you are coming across as a bit unhinged frankly.

Time to take a break and shutdown the laptop eh.............

Absolutely. They destroyed her life. And this karma come back to bite their arse.

healthadvice123 · 05/01/2023 17:45

@lemmein i don't know anyone in real life who actually takes on boar twitter now
Even my teenagers say its mostly full of made up accounts and nasty people after what was written about the english footballers etc they mostly ignore it other than accounts from celebrities etc that are fully verified and own it

ThighMistress · 05/01/2023 17:45

@yahpahha so William pointed his finger at Meghan and called her rude - how many times on MN are dhs slated for not standing up for their wives? “You have a dh problem” “Your dh should speak to his family.”

I assume Kate was upset and PW challenged Meghan. Clearly this was not incident no.1 as Harry himself says that Meghan’s attitude was not going down well with staff as well as the family.

Ooh, I wonder if they will manage to locate the named woman. If they don't, I expect Harry is probably itching to tell us anyway 😊
