Weren't Harry and Meghan briefing too?

One thing that struck me in the Netflix series was the "Sandringham summit". Harry said that there was a story about how he was bullied by Prince William/Charles, and Buckingham Palace responded by putting out a statement saying that was nonsense. In the Netflix series, Harry said that Meghan burst into tears because the Palace was basically lying. But... Who briefed the original story? It obviously wasn't Buckingham Palace because why would they want that story out there? And it does seem to be suspiciously well-aligned with the Harry/Meghan version of events. So is it ok for their people to brief out stories, but unacceptable for the Palace to put out statements? And does it ever occur to them that their point of view might not be the only one?

Harry is unhealthily paranoid.

Every time a negative story broke about Meghan he saw it as racist, untrue and planted. According to him whole world were plotting against her and she was perfect.

They have no self awareness whatsoever and refuse to see that some of her actions were putting people off, and upsetting people. She was difficult to get on with.

It's murky waters though, they aren't all wrong, because some of the negative press did happen because of racism, or at least because she was so different....American, older, divorced, outspoken actress etc. (I am ashamed to say I found her annoying, their engagement interview grated on me...all the giggling, hair tossing and clinging to him, claiming to not have known anything about him didn't ring true, that was unkind of me she was probably just nervous and excited)

There's was also lots of support for her, and plenty of positive press too. The palace did stand up for her and several statements were released in early days. I think the RF we're doing their best. They refuse to see or acknowledge that though. Harry wanted immediate adoration for her, like he was feeling.

He can't ever see her doing anything wrong, in his eyes she is perfect, and everyone is jealous of her, he has unhealthy morphed her into his mother in his mind. And he is confronted with the trauma of losing Diana. He cannot fathom why she is picked on and judged - the only explanation in his head is that it's because of her race and that the RF are jealous of her and see her as a threat.

Harry is a vulnerable, traumatised man, he isn't very bright and I believe used to having his messes mopped up for him by the RF, he was adored no matter how 'cheeky' of misguided his behaviour and just cannot seem to self reflect or have any sort of self awareness.

Spot on

I suspect members of the RF, as well as other high profile members of society, all over the world, get death threats all the time.
Meghan Is not the only person to be targeted like that.
