The royal family

Andrew was on the church walkabout this morning

I was surprised (and not in a good way) to see Andrew join the rest of the royal family at the Christmas service at Sandringham church this morning. He even shook hands with at least one member of the crowd. Surely he should be kept away from the public if the royal family have any desire whatsoever to keep the monarchy going? What is Charles thinking in allowing him to join them?!

He may not have been convicted.
However I believe Virginia was telling the truth. That she was trafficked and abused by him.
The Royal family are clearly convinced that this is a minor embarrassment that will blow over.

saffronrabbit · 25/12/2022 22:01

Who exactly can ban him from attending church with his family on Christmas Day - it's ridiculous to assume he wouldn't.

I didn't do it . i wasn't there , i've never met you either

Surely church is a place which should welcome everyone. In addition he hasn't been convicted of anything - no court case. He is innocent an we should treat him like that. Agreed there is PR at stake but if he were a normal member of the public he would also be innocent an should be treated as such.

You are incredibly naive. Would you really let your kids around a paedophile just because he had not been convicted? Christs sake.

@meh2022

Charles couldn't win in this situation. If he told his brother not to go to the church service on Christmas day, some people would have raised merry hell about it. He was in an impossible situation on this occasion. Save for anger for Andrew, who showed he has an appalling lack of self awareness and zero decency for attending.

Like who? And how would it impact on Charles if they did? The future of the monarchy is at stake, in large part thanks to Andrew, and I can’t imagine that a few family members “raising merry hell” is more important than that.

Man who got away with raping a sex trafficked teenager because his family is rich and powerful, went to a church work event.

I agree. I haven't watched it but would have been surprised had Andrew not been at the church with his family.

That's what the likes of the HateMail would have you believe.

Noonesperfect · 25/12/2022 22:20

Are you a member of the Royal family Rumpertumpskin. You're so defensive of him, like you know him really well.

there have been a few posters on here recently that have been really keen to argue that having sex with someone over 11 or 12 is not paedophilia.

No, I think people have been pointing out that having sex with someone who is 17 is different to having sex with someone 12 or under. Which is both morally and legally true, and is not paedophilia.

antelopevalley · 25/12/2022 22:30

Having sex with someone who has been sex trafficked is rape and disgusting.

And arguing that it is not as bad as raping a 12 year old is not a good look.

Claiming that there is no difference between an act that is a serious crime (having a sex with a 12 year old) and an act that is perfectly legal (having sex with a 17 year old) is a perfectly stupid look, antelopevalley.

We know Virginia was sex trafficked. We know Andrew was hanging around parties on Epstein's island with sex trafficked teenagers We know Andrew have a TV interview with an obvious laughable "defence" that was full of lies. We know he paid a substantial sum reportedly 12.5 million to Virginia.

He attended Church twice today. An early service then the one with the family.

Not much of a Christian though. So a hypocrite too.

You are determined that Andrew is a paedophile . He has not be charged or convicted of any crime . Just because most people ( including me) don’t like his behaviour does not make him a paedophile .

@Rumpertumpskin The courts found other teenagers on Epstein's island had been sex trafficked. I think it is a reasonable assumption that other teenagers also on the island who say they were sex trafficked are telling the truth.

Because he’s a liar and consorted with frankly evil people. He has no remorse either. Christians are supposed to follow the teachings of the Bible are they not?

Thank you for the link, however the Christmas Day service is not listed as a royal engagement on it as you alleged.

It says at the top of the site it may be out of date, following death of the Queen

When looking I couldn’t find anything very recent. But I might have missed something.

but I will probably return to this site because it would be very interesting to know if things like Queens funeral/ a royal wedding does count as a work appearance.

More like members of the public criticising the King for banning someone from church. He couldn't win. Having Andrew there didn't look good. Banning someone from church wouldn't look good either. Not that you can ban someone from church anyway.

Roussette · 25/12/2022 23:34

Quite a lot of Andrew fans on here then. Does it not seem off or even bad that his very good friend of decades is now in prison for 20 years for sex trafficking?
This is a woman he took into Sandringham, Balmoral, Buckingham Palace on numerous occasions, into the centre of the royal family.

And to suggest Guiffre wasn't trafficked and to demand evidence is bad bad bad. Go and look it up yourself. Look into her Charity relaunched for sex trafficked victims. Go and look into the other victims who have given moving statements about their experience and how it has impacted their lives and what it meant to them to have Guiffre stand up and give them a voice. And think about the very many victims who never came forward who will be suffering

Maybe think about the victims of sex trafficking before coming on here demanding evidence about what they went through and defending Andrew's very close involvement with two of the worst people who abused young girls. (some as young as 13) and who were rightly convicted for it.
