The royal family

Andrew was on the church walkabout this morning

I was surprised (and not in a good way) to see Andrew join the rest of the royal family at the Christmas service at Sandringham church this morning. He even shook hands with at least one member of the crowd. Surely he should be kept away from the public if the royal family have any desire whatsoever to keep the monarchy going? What is Charles thinking in allowing him to join them?!

You are incredibly naive. Would you really let your kids around a paedophile just because he had not been convicted? Christs sake.

I think people are careful about who is around their children for a whole range of reasons - we don't know every detail about anyone's life. We know much more about Prince Andrew's life than we do most people. The age of consent in the Uk is different anyway, but the fact remains no-one has been convicted of a crime and therefore they are innocent.

Roussette · 25/12/2022 23:41

Although there's no evidence of course that he has actually sinned. But don't let that get in the way for you.

You obviously know nothing about Andrew. He's been involved in very dubious behaviour for decades. And protected from any retribution for that.

He is now paying the price of obscurity. Not quite enough to keep him from today's walkabout but hopefully that was just a Christmas thing and I won't see him again until this time next year. Or at all

Jimmy Saville wasn't convicted of a crime either.

I'm damn sure I wouldn't go on a forum defending him.

I bet some people here would

I know it’s technically not an official engagement, but the route to the service is always lined by wellwishers and the pictures always appear in the press. Surely they must know that from a PR point of view, the optics are dreadful! Like @Samcro said, I can only conclude that they just don’t care.

Should he have been smuggled into church in a big box?
gone to a different church incognito with strangers and not his family?
Stayed home and had a wank?

superdupernova · 25/12/2022 23:56

Was he actually on the walkabout? The only photo I saw of him was going into the church. He didn't appear to have joined the family walk.

I don’t like him because he supported, befriended and aided a convicted child rapist. He brought that convicted child rapist to royal engagements, sat him on the queens throne, and attended parties held by the child rapist where underage teen girls were in abundance.

you might think that’s all fine and dandy because he wasn’t actually convicted. You might think that refusing to aid a criminal investigation and getting his mum to pay millions to make a court case go away is fine.

frankly I expect more of people who hold privileged and trusted public positions and I sure as heck wouldn’t publicly defending someone who supports child sex criminals.

How do you know how much evidence there is? He’s never been tried so your statement is incorrect.

the case was dropped as he settled out of court exactly to ensure that we didn’t get to see the evidence.

Do you understand how out of court settlements work?
The party accepting the settlement would have to agree not to cooperate with a prosecution. Without the cooperation of the key witness the prosecution would fail.
that’s not the same as not having the evidence

Well the truth seems to be that you publicly support wealthy men who are very closely involved with convicted child rapists and sex traffickers.

What a lovely way to spend your Christmas Xmas Confused

Oher · 26/12/2022 00:26

Know who Jesus was very very keen go to church? Sinners. I’m not religious but even I know that…

Anyway. Andrew still exists, he’s innocent until proven guilty, and I find your desire to ‘cancel’ him, even from a private family church visit, rather teenage.

But the rumoured settlement of 12 million that this non sweating pizza loving prince paid to someone he says he does not recall meeting looks a bit iffy, doesn't it?

I think rumoured is the key word here.

How is that not true? It’s literally what you’re doing.

nothing I’ve posted in relation to Andrew has been untrue - if you think it is then at least be specific. It’s all well-evidenced.

so thanks so much for your concern - but I’m grand 😁

Possibly. But I doubt he bought her off with 50 quid and a promise to behave from now on.
we know it was a substantial amount

Not in the US. This kind of agreement would be considered unethical and illegal, and therefore enforceable as against public policy.

I don't understand your reasoning. VG has already given her statement to the FBI. It's on record. She can be forced to give evidence in any court case.
As far as I understand it, they settled for a lower amount because there was no restraining measure.

The FBI had Guiffres statement before she sued A. They still didn't proceed against him so presumably they didn't have enough evidence.

And now you’re denigrating a victim of childhood sexual abuse and human trafficking.

aren’t you lovely!
