Thank you StopGo ,that must have been pretty severe!

bakalava · 25/12/2022 18:16

It was fine but considering that he has been rehearsing it for two months, it bloody well should be! Even then, he probably never even wrote it.

Goingforplatinum · 25/12/2022 18:22

Isn't it recorded in advance?

Yeah, good point.

antelopevalley · 25/12/2022 18:23

What is the matter with his arm?

What is the matter with his arm?

I've heard someone else mention this. I'm going to have to rewatch it and look closely at his arm now.

It was inoffensive, but I was distracted by his choice of tie and pocket square.

We missed our usual sweepstake on the colour of the Queen's outfit.

LaurieFairyCake · 25/12/2022 18:26

I thought it was a very pointed dagger in the heart to the government with the shots of the ambulance drivers and public servants

Good on him

antelopevalley · 25/12/2022 18:32

I am not saying he has had this happen, but it almost looks like his arm has been amputated. But surely not? They would surely have told us?
Or maybe he has injured it? I don't know, it looks really odd.

And food banks.

Goingforplatinum · 25/12/2022 18:37

It looks like he has had a stroke with loss of feeling in the arm and muscle weakness.

Not saying this is the case, but that's how it looks on camera.

Thanks, that is sad. Would not be surprising though with his health and age.

I thought it was excellent. My favorite part:

"So whatever faith you have, or whether you have none, it is in this life-giving light and with the true humility that lies in our service to others, that I believe we can find hope for the future."

The words of a man desperate for the monarchy to continue and remain relevant with a declining number of Christian people in the UK.

Nice enough speech, I just think the Royals are pointless and irrelevant to most people’s lives and therefore all his words are meaningless really. It’s not his fault, what can he do really. Charles is the probably the best of them I think. His commitment to the environment over the years is to be respected.

ArcaneWireless · 25/12/2022 19:00

A pity that some on this thread choose to question his appearance and speculate on his health (which people can’t help) rather than appreciate his words.

It is Christmas after all. One day away from it all it would be nice.

diddl · 25/12/2022 19:01

Looks like he's had a stroke/his arm amputated-wtaf are you people on?

BlueKaftan · 25/12/2022 19:02

I liked it a lot and I’m not recently a big fan of his.

I know. It's like that Doctor Who episode with Penelope Wilton as the PM where the Doctor starts a rumour about her health because he wants rid of her Grin

There's plenty of pictures online of the walk to the church service this morning showing Charles with two whole, unamputated, working arms.....

MarshaMelrose · 25/12/2022 19:08

I think it was a lovely speech linking the Queen with his values of community service and faith.
I think he's a thoughtful and deep-thinking man who will do well as king.

antelopevalley · 25/12/2022 19:09

His arm did look odd.

😬This made me laugh I think people would have noticed

magicthree · 25/12/2022 19:19

I thought it was wonderful. Well thought out and well delivered.

diddl · 25/12/2022 19:20

He moves both his arms whilst making the speech.

I think that the suit jacket might not be the best fit.
