And no longer allowed to use it for correspondence apparently.

Interesting…

Good.
And kudos to KG3 for doing it.

Princessglittery · 25/12/2022 02:02

@AutumnCrow @PinkFrogss what Prince Andrew did was vile but there is no evidence of him being a peadophile.

A peadophile is someone who has or wants to have sex with a pre pubescent child.

If you have evidence that he sexually assaulted a child you should report it, if you don’t then please do not use the term incorrectly.

PeaceJoySleep · 25/12/2022 02:15

Yes, he does not need staff. What were they doing ?

uhOhOP · 25/12/2022 03:44

AutumnCrow · 24/12/2022 19:49

My guess is her Maj still permitted it, and Charles has allowed the dust to settle after her death and staff to be consulted about redundancy.

Might be wrong but bloody hell it looks like the Queen really did have a soft spot for that bloody paedophile-befriender and pal-of-a-trafficker.

A mother had a soft spot for one of her younger sons? Who could imagine such a thing!

tatalan · 25/12/2022 04:26

Three years later, what a joke.

There is evidence he raped a child.

I wouldn't say that is no evidence. It's not proof, I agree with that. But did he bother to ask her age?

Furries · 25/12/2022 04:35

I think they will try and let him back in. I hope the public will continue not to accept it.

Why on earth do you think that?

Morestrangethings · 25/12/2022 06:02

FatPatsCat · 24/12/2022 21:43

I feel like this has gone completely under appreciated

😆. One of the tabloids will be wishing they thought of it.

She'd have to be below the age of 13 for the term you used. There's another term for 11-14 years old, approximately. I'm not sure there's one for older teens. I'd certainly call it disgusting, creepy, abusive. But not the P word though. Using the term I correctly actually undermines what he was involved in. It was really bad enough. Calling it something else in away let's him get away with it because supporters can say "But, well, she wasn't 6." No, but that doesn't make it ok that she was older and sex trafficked!!

Will he come back in in the future
I doubt it! I do wonder how it feels to be the first born with all the weight of that, and see your mother favourite your younger party-boy brother. I can only imagine it wasn't easy. And then you get into power. His bringing your institution into disrepute gives you the perfect opportunity to slim down, as you'd previously said you would. Would be odd to let him in. He probably couldn't wait to get him out!

This comment wins mumsnet for me.

As that young Edinburgh lad shouted

Andrew you are a dirty old man...

Goodbye. Hopefully he crawls back under his rock and never returns.

LBFseBrom · 25/12/2022 06:39

I caught those headlines earlier and am not sure what is 'interesting' about the article. Is it even true, at least how it is told in the paper? It makes me wonder if the Torygraph is emulating its red-topped sister, the Daily Hate Mail, creating scandal and intrigue out of nothing, when it dies down, fan the flames again. The news comes from 'sources close to', as per usual. Andrew used some office space there is all.

LBFseBrom · 25/12/2022 06:44

At least if they are highlighting Prince Andrew again, they are leaving Harry and Meghan alone.

Neither of us said he was a peadophile? Autumn said he was a peadophile befriender, and I said he raped a trafficked 17 year old.

A child is someone under age 18. I don't think there is much doubt that he had sex with a trafficked teenager. That is rape of a child.

You do not have to be under 13 for it to be rape.

@sashh Virginia Duffey was 17 and by the laws in this country she was old enough to consent (or not) to sex and she was not a pre pubescent child.

You may call him other names, but there is no evidence he is a paedophile.

Princessglittery · 25/12/2022 08:55

@PinkFrogss it is a very emotive term that is regularly used incorrectly on threads to describe the allegations against a depraved group of men and at least one woman.

Whilst victims were described as minors I.e. under 18 or 21 depending on state, by the US press, I have not read anything that suggests pre pubescent children were involved to meet the definition of peadophile. Underage teenagers yes but not pre pubescent.

Princessglittery · 25/12/2022 09:08

sashh · 25/12/2022 08:35

You do not have to be under 13 for it to be rape.

The definition of child varies, in Scotland they have given 16 year olds the vote and the right to undergo gender reassignment. In the UK the age of consent is 16.

I understand, happy to be corrected, a child under 13 cannot be raped because they can’t give consent, it is always sexual abuse.

There is a lot of focus on the age of the victim in this case, but would it have made a difference if she was a year older (18) or 21 or 30? What happened was vile and using correct terminology doesn’t take anything away from that.

AutumnCrow · 25/12/2022 09:17

I called him very very specifically a ‘paedophile-befriender’ which alludes (rather obviously I thought) to his friendship with Epstein, a convicted paedophile.

’Pal with a trafficker’ = alludes to his long friendship with the convicted trafficker Maxwell.

These are facts. The convictions exist. The relationships existed - he spoke about them on TV.

You must live in la la land. Are you aware that several underage victims in a trial came out and pointed the finger at PA? Are you aware he refuses to go and face the music infront of the American justice system?

Eastie77Returns · 25/12/2022 09:30

So Andrew was HM’s favourite. Anne was the apple of Philip’s eye. Charles was born to be king. Where does that leave poor Edward who literally never gets a mention😂

Princessglittery · 25/12/2022 09:35

@Sandra1984 were any of the victims pre pubescent?

I am not in any way trying to minimise or excuse what happened it was vile. All I am asking is that the term Paedophile is used correctly.

Sexual abuse of a pre pubescent child should not be conflated with raping a 15, 16, 18 year old. Both are horrific but are different crimes.

He was her son. It must have been incredibly difficult for her. Would be difficult for any mother to have to admit that her child is a sexual predator.
