Is a piece of shit. I refuse to link to his article in which he explicitly says he hates her and can't wait for the day he can physically assault her.

Can the Kate sycophants tell me again how this all happened to her and is totally normal and acceptable?

'I have no idea why this deeply unpleasant man is still allowed a platform in the media.'

Because he generates clicks and therefore income. I'm assuming most on this thread will have read what the odious twerp wrote. Whipping up anger and division is what it's all about because there's money to be made.

Piers Morgan and this clown are two of a kind but they know exactly what they're doing. People are talking, money comes rolling in.

Nope. Mumsnet or women (neither Kate or Camilla) are responsible for this man’s awful column. Let’s repeat that. Women are not responsible for the actions of an individual man who is a terrible person.

Nice try, but my point is, Jeremy Clarkson is not writing in a vaccuum. His editor made the decision to publish on the basis there would be a receptive audience. The vile threads on Mumsnet contributed to a moment in society when it was judged acceptable to publish that level of violent misogyny. So I am afraid you don't get to duck responsibility that easily (and neither does the RF that used H&M as shields, since you chose to bring them into it).

No they didn’t. Mumsnet doesn’t set the ton for the country or the media. It’s a talk forum that the media life occasional stories from.

You may spend too much time here, but MN doesn’t influence the entire country.

What responsibility am I trying to dodge? I have never posted anything abusive about MM or anyone else.

Your posts is specifically placing some responsibility for JCa column at the door of MN and its posters. Mainly women. Just like previous posters tried to claim Camilla was at fault for it.

If you think MN and the RF are responsible for the media storm around H&M you must believe they are also responsible? They also contributed to the ‘moment in society’.

Did he say something racist?

I'm speaking to your comment that every have a right to an opinion.

OK do you think its okay if I'm walking down the street for someone to voice their misogynistic opinion at me?

Do you think its okay for a person to voice their opinion to someone thats xenophobic or racist or sexist

Pretty much

Some do lose their platform - iirc KH was removed from various things but many just provoke and get money from that

wishingyouwell · 18/12/2022 09:04

When you make no comment on the paedophile in a family but take the time to comment on a non-criminal you come across as sexist, racist and a child-abuser apologist.

BarrelOfOtters · 18/12/2022 09:04

I can’t help but think we’ll look back in a few years and wonder how the likes of piers Morgan and Jeremy Clarkson were encouraged into writing this crap.

Novella4 · 18/12/2022 09:05

Well done to the the poster who contacted the police and to poster who provided the link to the PCC

I don't agree that it should be ignored .

There is a sick cabal of 'royal' insiders and the media on this country . This incident has proven all that H and M said to be true .
There's more I bet
BP should condemn that article immediately.

If you haven't been gleefully trashing MM on Mumsnet then clearly my post is not aimed at you. But I disagree that Mumsnet doesn't contribute to setting the tone for debate in this country. As you acknowledged, it is frequently quoted in mainstream media, it is a large, well known forum. Like Twitter spite, it all part of nudging the Overton window for vile misogynists like Jeremey Clarkson. Treating this as a one of aberration by a vile man misses the point - this was felt acceptable to publish in a mainstream paper. What contributed to that climate of acceptability?

wishingyouwell · 18/12/2022 09:06

He is inciting hatred and violence. He happily sleeps at night knowing the RF is partying at Christmas with a paedophile but a woman who is not a child abuser, keeps him awake at night. Let that sink in.

feel the opposite with some 'virtual dirges' Morgan has written on the woke amongst us. Lot of shame coming in the years ahead.

Been saying that for years on here

You'll be told it's ' off topic'
But of course it's relevant
It's obvious

Its a simple question

Do you think its okay if you are walking down a street and a man voiced his opinions that was misogynistic to you?

Because your the one saying everyone is entitled to his opinion. So how would you feel if that opinion was voiced towards to you?

Lampzade · 18/12/2022 09:13

Free speech does not give anyone the right to incite hatred and possibly lawless action against an individual.
There was a real threat against the lives of the Sussexes and articles such as the one written by Clarkson have crossed the boundaries of free speech
Irrespective of one’s views of the Sussexes , the type of language used is unacceptable and indefensible. Anyone who believes that the vile article was acceptable is as disgusting as Clarkson .

Why cant we finally have a world where women are truly equal and dont have to put up with sexism

Why can't I get one through one year in this country where I dont have to hear one racist comment said to me

🤷‍♀️ I guess u think thats someone's opinion trumps my right to just get on with my life peacefully and treated equally like many other people can

Exactly. This has been much worse since Brexit, I have found.
