The royal family

Is Harry just going through a bad case of Limerence?

It seems to fit the description and would explain how it seems like he’s totally taken leave of his senses.

It must be so hard for the Royals but I wonder if they can see this which is why they’ve not cut him off, they know they’ll need to be there to help him pick up the pieces when he snaps out of it.

They seem pretty in love to me. Why are we so keen to try and drag everyone down?

I have a theory that some posters sit and look at their deadbeat OH and feel hard done by when they look at how H&M are with each other. So being just plain nasty about other people makes them feel better about their choices.

This theory has as much basis as people's theory about H&M. But that's my opinion and apparently anyone who feels hard done by inaccurate assumptions shared on social media has to put up and shut up.

No doubt this will be reported and deleted even though shit about MM stands because hate sells because some sad old women want to be able to be nasty on forums to random strangers they don't know, but they don't seem to be able to take it themselves.

But I'll still think they must be pretty miserable to be so negative and want to pull people down. And I see you, even if you don't see yourselves.

If the cap fits...

But why does it bother you if other people talk about them? They wanted publicity and this is the outcome.

There's nothing to stop you from scrolling on by, just like I do with many threads I have no interest in.
No one is forcing you to read or comment.

I think I've probably made three posts about them since September. If you could tell me how many posts on any subject I'm allowed to make before it qualifies as 'obsession' then I'll take due note and modify my bad behaviour.

I don't think @Ramble0n can really have a dig over obsession. You should see how many posts they made over Matt Hancock! 😆

PipinwasAuntieMabelsdog · 09/12/2022 18:39

I think they are both equally damaged in different ways and I think that they are both using each other for different means. Harry - settling stores against his dad and for some reason brother. Meghan is desperate for fame, and is I think very insecure and they have both got exactly what they want.

Meghan is more worldly wise than Harry as she has had to look after herself, where as he never has in the practical sense. That is why I think some people blame her for the current shit show. However, they shouldn't because she is just as damaged and vulnerable, just in a different sense. In terms of the persecution and saviour complex it's like a folie a deux. I really feel for their children, because I don't think either of the parents realise their issues and the cycle will continue. I also would not be surprised if H or M were to seriously harm themselves and that would be utterly horrific. Sad

saltofcelery · 09/12/2022 18:39

Perhaps unbelievable to some, but maybe he's extremely happy? Maybe she is extremely happy? Maybe they even made the right decision to leave Britain.

Stop reading tabloids.

Implying a married father of two is suffering from "limerance" is beyond any level of normal. Yes, most of these threads border on obsession

I think you've confused me with the OP who started the thread. I was responding with my opinion. You know, as you do on a conversation thread.

Off hand, I think I've made more posts about Richard III, idiot fans in Qatar and Christmas. Clearly I'm obsessed by those topics, as well.

mackthepony · 09/12/2022 18:40

I am no Royalist either but Meg's accentuated bow with Harry looking on just finished it off for me. An utter lack of respect for another human, let alone her future grandmother in law.

Show some respect Meghan, it's what you're always harping on about.

ladygindiva · 09/12/2022 18:41

McBurgerTime · 09/12/2022 18:28

Some of you are absolutely deranged with your Meghan obsession.

He's been with her for 6 years, married and they have two children. Is your husband in love with you or is it just limerance?

I agree

I agree with this too

TheRealHousewife · 09/12/2022 18:42

How have I got to nearly 60 and never heard the word Limerence! I don’t know the answer but wanted to thank the @Pearmain as I’ve learnt a new word today!

MrsDanversGlidesAgain · 09/12/2022 18:43

And yet you obviously read them quite enough to know people will think you're obsessed

Well I know that YOU think I'm obsessed. Why you think I'm interested in that - or what 'people' think is another matter. Do I need permission to read threads now?

And you seem a bit obsessed with my posts, @McBurgerTime.

Stop reading tabloids.

Maybe they are ecstatically happy and their marriage is the best anyone has ever had, but is it really a good idea to boast about how good your (currently short) marriage is while denigrating the rest of your family?

It'll be interesting to see if they're still together in 10 years because although I think MM will be just fine if they divorce, he has burned bridges with everyone in his family for money.

He's bet a lot on this relationship lasting forever, especially as 50% of marriages end in divorce.

MrsDanversGlidesAgain · 09/12/2022 18:47

Do you always make everything about yourself?

Ooooh, a therapy session!! 😅

Gynaesaur · 09/12/2022 18:50

I wonder why the people who insist that the Middletons are merely a solidly middle class family don't seem to think that Kate Middleton's just in it for the money?

Why anyone would want to marry into this shitshow of a family is beyond me, but Meghan Markle has plenty of her own money and there's easier ways to make more that don't involve putting yourself at the mercy of every tabloid in the UK.

This is the "Be Kind" brigade in a nutshell. Any other ism = bad, age-ism is A-OK and expected.

"Oh, you shouldn't be mean. You're all dried-up old hags with terrible husbands and marriages anyway, of course you're not allowed opinions. Why are you so mean to people you don't know?"

Hilarious.

whittingtonmum · 09/12/2022 18:58

I guess what makes the whole thing so painful to watch is that both Harry and Megan come across as somewhat naive. For two adults - not young adults - well educated, well travelled with careers in the public eye before they met each other and with access to substantial private wealth you would expect them to be a little bit more aware of the potential implications of being exposed to the global spotlight and that they would be able to hire the right consultants to help them navigate some of the difficulties they were experiencing. I am not saying this would have solved every problem but might have helped them to navigate some of the challenges better.

I think what makes their situation so unusual these days is that most people in western democracies who hold high public office have gotten there through some form of merit. Not saying we live in a complete meritocracy but no one else except the royal family literally inherits their public office from their parents anymore. Most people who hold high public office and notice that it doesn't work for them/they are not cut out for it simply resign or get voted out and that's the end of it. Then someone else who might have the right qualities can have a go and hopefully make more of a success of the role.

I guess it just goes to show that the idea that one family should be chosen by God to rule a country is such an outdated concept you simply can't make it fit to modern ideas of how we want to live our lives.

Yep , thought I had a pretty extensive vocabulary and I have learnt a new word today!

Favouritefruits · 09/12/2022 19:06

They both seem like very sad and unhappy people, nobody in would do what they’ve done if they were happy and content. I was all for them until Harry was banging on about his Dad cutting the money off, most people at 37 are cut off monetary wise by their parents, it’s weirder to still rely on them.
