Prince Harry: How come he's the poster boy for anti-racism?

HotChoxs · 06/12/2022 21:46

Just wondering. The only incident I can recall where there's been a clear cut irrefutable use of a highly offensive racist slur made by the Royal family was made by Harry himself.

So somebody I still consider to be a racist tw*t is now winning anti-racism awards for calling out the Royal family for racism which isn't as clear cut and visible as his own?

Whatever next? Prince Andrew to start up a anti-trafficking Charity?

The mind boggles.

I know exactly what you are referring to.
I once linked the picture and MNers refuted its was William as they still refute it's him on that BBC picture. He was described as wearing a straw skirt in a Guardian article for one party and another one that has been rubbed out was an article from the Cotswold newspaper that described how W brought a Zulu tribal costume. Later the Guardian questioned how the papers were calling it an animal costume when the theme was about humans (natives and colonisers).

In a biography by Lacey, he says Harry was a bit uncomfortable as his trusted brother chose the nazi uniform for him and W 'laughed all the way home' after they brought it.

So OP, now do William !

They still refute it’s him because it isn’t. It says “a guest” in the caption under the picture as per pp 🙄

When I made my idiot post earlier this morning [i'm @HelensToenail ]

I googled '''Prince William 21st Birthday Party'' and a good 50% of the images were of the 'guest' in the leopard-skin outfit so I clicked on BBC website

When I was corrected by several posters I searched exactly the same phrase again there were hardly any of those images

Is that the algorithm correcting my wrongful assumption?? It's a bit odd?

HaveYour · 07/12/2022 11:56

What's more the text of the BBC article says he was in fancy dress

but the actual official photos are of him in a white shirt and jeans posing with the band from Botswana and black n white photos by Mario Testino another guest

So why no photos of him in fancy dress given that was what he was said to have
been wearing?

@Alltheprettyseahorses

I find it very hard to believe the OP wouldn't know about the racism of Philip and other family members.

I've already answered this whatabouttery earlier in the thread. I don't have to explain myself why one bit of racist behaviour triggers me more than others.

I'm being attacked on here for supposedly not knowing about the racism of the RF but someone who married into it is now being awarded an anti-racist award. I don't suppose you're going to 'listen and learn' here though.

Harry has admitted that his background and privilege meant that he was unable to understand issues such as racism. However, being married to Meghan opened his eyes to racism and its devastating effects. He said this is an interview.

In fact many POC have applauded Prince
Harry for his stance and believe that by speaking out against racism he has brought their concerns to the forefront .

And some of us don't feel the same.

The proof is on here actually. I've been accused of not being being believable for not mentioning other racism in the RF.

But yet if I voice a concern that I can't understand why anyone who was sensitive to racism would marry into a racist family, it falls on deaf ears.

those pictures of William don’t exist, no poster has been able to find them and link to them, the two posters continue on various threads to say ‘just google them’ - These pictures don’t exist, stop embarrassing yourselves

don’t you think if they existed Christopher Bouzy would have posted them? or another William hater ? Or these two posters would have screen shotted them ?

@HotChoxs , most people feel your opinion is worthwhile.
I know I do ! , don't let it get you down.

@Lampzade , that is one valid opinion but the op has a right to her opinion too!
And the poster this was aimed at is berating her , I try not to say anything about Meghan as it's a minefield, however I feel criticism of prince Harry ( a white privileged prince) should not be met with such vitriolic defense , lately it seems he has somehow been cloaked by Meghan poc status and this should not be the case .
If people cannot defend their opinion without bringing others in. Thier argument is obviously not strong enough.
And defending a " side " shouldn't have to devolve into personal attacks or insults, we should be able to disagree without all this negativity.

Thankyou

A lot of things have been cloaked by Meghans poc status. I've always had to survive by being sensitive to racism, avoid certain places, countries, and people, so I does not make sense to me why anyone would willingly marry into a racist family.

There are lots of things that don't add up and make me angry and confused as to why this couple represents anti-racism.

Here's the problem with white people saying they are the allies of poc. What happens when we disagree with each other, who are you then ally to? In this case for many, its the light skinned famous couple who are in the right while the dark skinned person on here is just not believable.

Well it comes to something when a man who is the epitome of white privilege is now hailed as some anti racism crusader.

Where is the evidence that the Royals were discriminatory towards this pair? They want to throw stories about Archie’s skin tone around but they won’t name the person who made the comments. They are both in tears about being pushed out and sidelined but they won’t give specific examples.

There are wars raging in Ukraine and Yemen, women are being killed in Iran and laws passed in America to squash female reproductive rights and yet we are invited to feel sorry for a rich, white man.

It’s like they live in a parallel universe.

OP - in answer to your comment I've already answered this whatabouttery earlier in the thread. I don't have to explain myself why one bit of racist behaviour triggers me more than others.

Im listening and learning all the time and I obviously listened to your original complaint and learned it was The only incident I can recall where there's been a clear cut irrefutable use of a highly offensive racist slur made by the Royal family was made by Harry himself. This can certainly be questioned as unusual considering eg Philip.

At least be consistent and/or make your mind up.
