I think that in the first instance planning some sort of hearts and minds land grab over the Sussexes is foolish when Meghan is herself American and the Sussexes are based there. Why not leave well alone and throw a bells and whistles diplomatic smorgasbord for the president (or the next one, frankly, if Biden carks it) at the next opportunity. Or go to Canada, where you'd get loads of 10 years later photo compares and you are (or will be) actually the head of state there.
Also why Boston? If anything it's the anti UK monarchy state historically and Bostonians are not as (platonically) romantically taken than, say, (sweeping generalisation alert!) Midwesterners by the Royal Family.

I'm sure it's to flood the papers before Harry's "poor me" autobio comes out but surely there must be a premise on which they're going?

And now they have their 'touch down' moment marred by more racism accusations (quite rightly, what that lady in waiting said and how she behaved was absolutely appalling).

Difficult to see how they can bring this back round tbh.

It isn't work I agree.
But they get no taxpayers money, no taxpayers paid security, or free use of various Palaces, so I don't care. They are another celebrity couple seeking support and fans. I don't care.
What I care about is our own celebrities funded by taxpayers money. If they all left the Royal Family tomorrow and earned their own money I would not care them. Just like I don't care about the Kardashians.

Precisely - I don't understand the uproar I always see comments on MN that H@M are irrelevant - so you can't have it both ways - they are irrelevant no one is interested in them but yet anything they do is on the wrong date and is apparently only to eclipse something or other happening in the RF. .... i don't think their trip to Boston / Earthshot gained any more or less interest because of the M&H Netflix trailer. It interesting how there are more threads this weekend about M&H than there are about Earthshot If you are easily distracted by their presence then that's your issue M&H
