I think it's Harry and Meghan that made the statement, not Netflix.
Representatives for Prince Harry and Meghan have defended the use of stock images and footage in trailers for the couple's Netflix documentary amid claims of misinformation.
"You use stock images to tell a story," a source close to the couple, and documentary, told The Telegraph. "It's not meant to be literal in a trailer."
They said the choice to use stock footage was "standard practice in documentary and trailer production".
So you can make a trailer telling your story. But the evidence to back it up is not meant to be taken as true. Silly us.
