Harry and Meghan doing alright in the US, continuing their universal service

notanotheroneagain · 12/10/2022 07:24

Have heard a few comments from panellists and commenters thinking that Harry somehow wants to come back to the UK?

I highly doubt this. I think they are doing more than ok in the US.

A pity a positive thread has been deleted regarding the podcasts, maybe the positive conversation can continue here?

In particularly I wanted to highlight the announcement that they will be recipients for the Robert J Kennedy Human Rights award.

“When The Duke and Duchess accepted our award laureate invitation back in March, we were thrilled. The couple has always stood out for their willingness to speak up and change the narrative on racial justice and mental health around the world,” Kerry Kennedy, president of Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights, and Robert F. Kennedy's daughter, said in a statement shared today. “They embody the type of moral courage that my father once called the ‘one essential, vital quality for those who seek to change a world that yields most painfully to change.’”

Agree. It’s all very bizarre. Just a blanket policy of thinking literally everything the Sussexes do is magnificent. No critical faculty at all.

Well atleast my original post is honest, unlike the ones hiding behind a 'lets discuss a book/podcast etc.' when it should read 'lets bash MM'. This thread is to balance - the scales must balance.

Anyway, now let me go off, take some popcorn and watch Rishi getting bashed for 'backstabbing Boris' or whatever. Not gloating, but watching with interest. I see a trend as @Roussette posted earlier. Will just watch this time, as the Tories have got his back, right ? Just like they had Kwasi.

Will not go into details right now, as will derail, but I think that answers some of the questions a poster addressed to me earlier on.

Going off to listen to 'Angry black woman' podcast now.

Enjoyed Issa Rae's Insecure.

I really enjoyed the podcast with Issa. I could relate to some of the things she was saying, plus I just love me some Issa. She is so talented.

Marulatree · 25/10/2022 12:06

There is so much MORE analysis as a result of those posts

Well here’s a recent article in Hello magazine for you to analyse; it’s titled ‘Meghan Markle's friend releases new photo of her and Prince Harry – and they look so in love’.

And, yes, they are still holding hands (yes, yes, I know; it’s most strange for a loving couple. Who would want that type of affection from their spouse?) 😅

Hold onto those absurd self-beliefs ! It worked for M 😏

You would sound more genuine if you asked the posters who are glaringly in all over every thread to denigrate another woman. In fact they are all over the royal threads, sometimes taking their weird mission all over mums net.

With every deflection, every question dodged, every piece of “evidence” flagrantly and baldly denied, every snide riposte to an uncomfortable truth, I feel more and more distressed. If some posters on this thread have their own, opaque reasons for posting in such a blindly munificent way about H&M under the guise of weeding out racist posters and standing up for black or biracial women or bullied women, they set back the cause inversely proportionately.

The defence of victims of bullying and racism is a real thing. A very serious undertaking. It doesn’t stand up to this sort of propaganda, and it could well do without it. Shame on you for putting that real work back.

Marulatree · 25/10/2022 14:02

@Suemademedoit One of the contributing factors that allows racism to persist is passivism – denying its existence and the experience of those affected by it. That is one of the greatest threats to the work towards racial equality.

Ohnonevermind · 25/10/2022 14:10

@Marulatree

Meghan Markle lies, that’s what I object to, and the posters who say she should be allowed to peddle her ‘alternative perspectives’ need to look at the character of the person of the person they are defending more closely

Puzzledandpissedoff · 25/10/2022 14:45

i have a feeling certain posters want this thread deleted. same thing happens every time with any positive thread

And yet interestingly, it's not those who take issue with some of H&M's behaviour who keep on and on having their posts deleted ...

Worriedddd · 25/10/2022 14:54

I've never really liked her but she acted fine at the funeral and she's not been sticking the boot in since she went back to the US (biting the hand that feeds). Yes they are annoying but seem pretty benign recently compared to when they were throwing tantrums over everything.

MidnightConstellation · 25/10/2022 16:25

She realises that she needs to change her tactics now the Queen has died, that’s all.

Yes, I don't think the King is quite as forgiving as the late queen.
They want royal titles for their children and for themselves. They realise they have to backpeddle furiously (MM is saying the forthcoming documentary is in the hands of the director now (effectively washing her hands of any negativity towards the RF)) and Harry is desperately trying to erase parts of his memoir which denigrates Camilla and his father's affair with her. If any of this goes ahead the RF will pull down the shutters for good.

H&M need to start concentrating on their stated goals of changing society for the better (and giving all funds from Archwell to charity) and lecturing others of climate change, (step down from the private jets and lavish lifestyle) and enjoying privacy and peace out of the limelight (even though the latter clashes with the former).

Croque · 25/10/2022 16:59

I was involved with the Grenfell charities and I have personally spoken to some of the women featured in the cookbook. They never saw much money either, despite various assurances. Infact, somebody 'accidentally' generated a pretty negative press rumour about the kitchen being linked to terrorism. One has to cut one's teeth somewhere with spreading fake stories, I suppose.

@Ohnonevermind how can you say she lies?

If you tell the truth you don’t have to remember anything - Mark Twain.

Ooops!

Well let's start with the first lie when she met Harry - that she was single when she was still living with the chef.

That's because they are the ones constantly moaning and running off to report on mums net. Yet, they are the first to complain that H&M are 'moaning' all the time.

Rather ironic.

Me, I said it a number of times, I let most posts stand, so MN can be exposed for what it is, with no deniability.

Oh dear............... ask your' friends' if they know a woman named Farah. Because she says the exact opposite.

So tell me, how did they renovate their kitchen and open it more days than before.
Also, how did MM squirrel this money, right under the noses of the palace?

Oh no !!!!

MM studied French for 4yrs in high school.
Then an additional on and off for 4yrs some time in last 20yrs or so.

Hang the witch ! She's a liar !!!!!

Seriously, rather self deprecating of her, as I heard her speak French once and it was quite good imo.

Well let's start with the first lie when she met Harry - that she was single when she was still living with the chef.

Then the second lie with the ‘can’t name the racist as it would be too damaging to them’ was spoken about in OW. M said when she was pregnant, and H said before they were married. That’s when I started thinking somethings not right here. First of all thought it might be all down to him, but now think they are 2 peas in a pod.

It is a serious undertaking to propel propaganda against a woman who experienced bullying and racism and act like she is the one of bad character.

MM’s bullying and lying is clear to a lot of posters

Dismissing her victims voices as unimportant as her voice is the only voice that matters to some posters and to MM herself

Wow that twitter thread about Meghan studying French is really horrible. There are people out there really concerned about this?. I'm just waiting to see what the negative spin about today's podcast.

I enjoyed Insecure. It was so refreshing and different. Her talent with the rapping as well. That boyfriend - was it Lawrence? - dishy !

I never thought about it, knowing that MM is half black, but she is also part Nigerian. How interesting.

Also, rather sad that autofill would say those things about black women (angry/ loud/mean).
Deep issues. Seriously, I feel these podcasts should last longer than they are.

In the end, I thought it apt that MM would have that Maya Angelo poem. Somehow, lately, it always reminded me of MM when I heard it.
