Mike Tindall - I'm a Celebrity

Arnaquer · 12/10/2022 03:25

Rumours circulating that he's signed up for the next series of I'm a Celebrity.
I know he and Zara have to make their own money but I find this tasteless and tacky.
Puts me in mind of the Royal It's a Knockout.
Surely they can't be that desperate for cash?

You mean being honest about the treatment they received at their family.being refused help for their mental health(which notably the royals don’t deal with or acknowledge)(or seemingly allow)
wanting to have some form of choice to their lives. Harry was born into a royal family that doesn’t alter a persons dna to mean they can or should be able to cope with all it entails.or then fight back against it,especially when his wife’s life is in danger.

Refused help for their mental health??
Where did you get that from?

Harry has been in therapy for years.

Harry and Megan were both patrons of Heads Together mental health charity.

Either way, I’m sure by finding the odd £million down the back of the sofa they could have funded some private counselling?

LadyEloise1 · 13/10/2022 17:08

I agree @Lovemelovemydoggie
They were involved with a Mental Health charity so had all the contacts they needed.
If as Meghan says, she was suffering with her mental health, surely it was Harry and her family Mum and friends that she should be expecting support from.

MidnightConstellation · 13/10/2022 17:43

A grown woman with plenty of money could of course have got any help she needed. It’s nonsense to suggest the Palace was keeping her prisoner.

@LondonWolf Maybe that was said if you are one of those who only criticise M and H but give all the other Royals a free pass?
For example, I get tired of those saying OMG how awful for Harry to criticise his family in public. But who ignores that Charles was openly critical of the Queen in his long TV interview?
The Royal Family are incredibly dysfunctional as a family and bad behaviour runs through the whole family.

The thing is for those of us who didn't just start following the Royal family four years ago we were critical of all the Royals who screw up or do something awful AT THE TIME.

Yes, Charles and Diana's TV venting interviews were awful and were criticised at the time

Yes, Sophie and Edward screwed up while they were trying to be financially independent and were roasted for it at the time

Yes, Andrew is beyond awful in words and deeds and gets regularly roasted everytime he pops his head up above the parapet again.

And so on...

The thing about Harry and Meghan is they have done the most recent crazy poorly thought-out things and are continuing to take actions which warrant comment - people are criticising them now because they are doing the stuff currently.

There are a few weird ride-or-die people on here for pro M&H vs rest of RF but many more who can see the nuances etc. And some who are just very anti-monarchy so don't want to say anything good about anyone.

queenofarles · 13/10/2022 17:49

You learn something new everyday ,
never knew I’m a celeb is more popular than strictly , I don’t watch game shows or reality TV,
but on MN strictly seems to be the dominant thing.
always thought retired sportsmen move over to broadcasting or coaching.

and only those on daytime tv do things like strictly and I’m a celeb.

Do keep up! That was Meghan and Harry’s story when they did the interview with Oprah Winfrey where they wanted the world to think they were trapped in an institution that was not protecting them to allowing them any autonomy. Meghan has told us in her latest podcast, however, that in fact Harry (who had had therapy himself previously) put her in touch with a therapist.

(Although if they can’t keep their stories straight I agree it’s hard to see how others can…)

Well said

Isn’t I’m a Celebrity, the bottom of the barrel , I’m desperate for money last resort kind of thing ?
who even watches it ?

I do.

Just as I shall be watching my first and true reality love Big Brother (also widely condemned as lurking at the bottom of a very deep barrel) avidly when he rises from the C5 bonfire to reign glorious on ITV2.

Celebrities are paid anything between £50k (AJ Pritchard level) up to £300K (Mo Farah). Average is around £120-150K. It's a pay package to sign on and doesn't matter if they go out first or make it all the way to the final. That's hardly pocket change, even for celebs, for a few weeks work. And it gets massive publicity for them too.

MissHavishamsMouldyOldCake · 13/10/2022 22:21

The money for I'm A Celeb is great but I don't think I'd make it past the initial bit where they have to walk the plank off a skyscraper.

I can't watch it as the challenges make me want to be sick. I'm not exaggerating. I can't bear watching the ones with insects and eating nasty stuff. I feel ill just thinking about it.

Me too - can't wait for BB!

EchoPark · 14/10/2022 00:35

I didn't know BB was coming back!

I absolutely loved the first few series.

Am fascinated by the fees paid to stars on 'Celebrity'.

CathyorClaire · 14/10/2022 11:21

BB back in Spring next year and applications for housemates opened a few days ago!

V. pleased it's so soon. Some reports had the launch piggybacking off the Love Island finale in the summer.

I’ve really gone off him after reading his behaviour towards Harry. I also noticed him checking his watch at the vigil for the late queen.I just think that he’s completely full of himself and the polite guy act is just that, an act. I don’t buy into him at all.

Agree

Lampzade · 14/10/2022 17:30

LookingAtYou · 13/10/2022 13:50

So what. That is hardly the same as not seeing your df for 4yrs because he got the media to take snaps when they've 'earned' money selling their gripes ever since.

You are being disingenuous.
I have a few very toxic family members who I cut off after years of putting up with a lot of shitty behaviour.

Toxic? What does that mean?

Absolute nonsense.

Well if it looks and acts like a bellend chances are it is one.

Though he might be well advised to consider that like calls to like...

That made me laugh . One of our neighbours is 6foot 6inches , muscles on muscles , tattoos , wonky nosy , the lot . Looks scary but is the nicest , gentlest man . I see him carefully carrying spiders out of the house and seeing him with his newborn baby a few weeks ago brought tears to my eyes .
You can’t judge a book by its cover .

Yes, no need for trials just something like a reverse beauty pageant. We will be able to pick out the weirdos, thugs and thieves because we all know what they look like.

@LookingAtYou Fine. Judge from the outside family relationships when you have zero idea of what has happened. I accept I do not know if it is reasonable or unreasonable as I do not know these people and have zero idea of everything that has happened in the past.

In an earlier post you said And Charles did refuse to take Harrys calls for at least a while/ Do you know that for a fact, do you know why Charles might have done that.

You are doing what you criticise others for doing, Judging from the outside when you have zero idea of everything that has happened in the past.
