The last thread filled up during a particularly chatty morning.

Well I don’t want anyone to make anyone feel like that so let’s move on. I’m not sure if you’ve said yet what you think of the extracts and the book (what we know of ‘Courtiers’). Thoughts?

Nothing more to add to what I've already posted at the moment.
I enjoy catching up on the thread though and I'll let you know if anything occurs to me; may well still just be lighthearted stuff though.

To be fair to H & M would they necessarily know about the RF plans & Sophie’s trip to DRC? But maybe I’m giving them the benefit of the doubt when they don’t deserve it. Who knows?

I was wondering to MissMarple about whether they’d know. What are the official photos for? (I haven’t seen or heard of them)

I’d guess they prob didn’t know about it. But I did think they’d be busy editing H’s book and the Netflix doc

A few weeks ago, but released today.

I think the official photos are of Charles, Camilla, William and Katherine that were taken the night before the funeral.

The royals don't earn anything. They are provided with an extraordinary income which makes any minimising of their tax liability all the more nauseating.

The queen paid voluntarily because she had to so it wasn't voluntary

She spent decades benefiting from unique tax breaks until she reluctantly bowed to pressure as a sop to growing public unrest.

Inexplicably it's been touted as an altruistic move for years.

Meghan looks as beautiful as ever in the colour photo (and her blouse seam is impressively lined up with the fly of her trousers - someone was all over the small details 😀) but I find the light on Harry’s sleeve rather distracting - at first I thought the fabric of his sleeve was grey!

The black and white one I am not fond of. It is presumably posed, not reportage, given the background. To me it just comes across as a really weird pose - looking away from the viewer off to the left with no connection to each other?

Of course the royals earn something. They do work, after all, so they deserve recompense. They don't get an extraordinary income from the country. The monarch is paid £89m but that's not their wage! They do live in extraordinary homes. But those would still exist and have to be paid for even if the royals disappeared.

Glad to see you agree that she pays tax as agreed by the govt and HMRC and it wasn't voluntary but forced on her.

I don’t know either but the cynic in me feels that it might be because of the recent release of the picture of the King, Queen Consort and the Waleses. 🤷‍♀️

The Time photo is really weird.

I've just tried to type and then deleted multiple posts because I don't know what to say about these photos. I don't know what they're for. In what capacity are they releasing them? What is the aim? I suppose their fans might like them, but... 🤷🏼‍♀️
