We all state and agree on these thread - (assume that you do to) - that SM and tabloid coverage about MM is all shit, lies and click bait - but you are happy to present SM and tabloid shit, lies and clickbait as truth to bolster, defend and position and your own argument about other members of the RF…..

No integrity or credibility there for you I’m afraid.

And you know very well, that I have said over and over that the press will write all sorts of lies about MM, but are protective of others royals. Even bigging them up at H&M expense.

So what they say about other royals, is likely true if negative, since they are so protective of them.

jeffgoldblum · 01/10/2022 12:42

Rubbish!

oakleaffy · 01/10/2022 12:42

@ShamedBySiri
A relative worked for a very well known person (Now deceased), she got the job by being recommended by a current employer she was working part time for “If you want discretion, and a job well done, use this person”
Relative was the soul of discretion, wouldn’t have dreamed of leaking secrets.

I can imagine the vast amount of work required - and all the preparations-for large Royal Events.
I saw Prince Charles once exiting the Royal Train at Temple Meads- I thought “ That chap looks familiar “..
long before the days of smart phones
It was more the smart carriages that made me notice-
A bit like when Orient Express carriages turn up- Different vibe to standard rolling stock!

SallyLockheart · 01/10/2022 12:43

Not. We are still waiting with baited breath your link to the Palace issuing notices to protect Sophie Wessex as nobody else here seems to every recall seeing such a publication

theres nothing misogynistic at all about telling anyone they rudely dominated a group conversation and made it all about them. That perhaps the next time they’re in company they should give other people a chance to speak.

Fortunately for Meghan (and myself, I’ll say) she doesn’t appear to have a husband that deems it appropriate to ‘reign her in’ for engaging in an amiable conversation. But I’m starting to appreciate that not everyone is so fortunate.

Croque · 01/10/2022 12:49

It is really not worthwhile comparing K to M. One was a good fit for the royal family and thrived, the other was not and never thrived. You would not find Kate focused on delivering sharp soundbytes and over-projecting her voice and opinions and mannerisms to shine the brightest at a charity launch. K is the product of an upbringing which would make it seem bizarre and vulgar. Yet, this behaviour is considered positive in M's world. There is no reconciliation of worlds possible.

It was pretty obvious from the engagement interview that it was the start of a slow car crash. It wasn't just in relation to marrying H, he actually comes from a family with a very international outlook. If M had ever happened to marry somebody from the old aristocracy proper then she would have fared much, much worse and they would definitely have let her know.

notanotheroneagain, your post is comical and your agenda is poking through.

HannaHanna · 01/10/2022 12:56

@Croque you write “It is really not worthwhile comparing K to M.” then it’s off to the races.

I am not saying it’s intentional misogyny, but when are two men ever openly compared this way except when running for office? On MN, it’s more like they are both prize pigs at a 4H contest.

shedwithivy · 01/10/2022 12:58

The revelations in the book (if true) also cast a different slant on the archetypes podcast topics in a way... if she's gone for b*tch, diva, dragon as some of her topics "labels which hold women back". It makes you wonder what she thinks women are held back from... marching around being an unreasonable "diva" or a bullying "dragon" boss without challenge?

I don't deny assertive women are judged more harshly than men, and we are conditioned sometimes to appease rather than stand up for ourselves, but that is different to complaining about being called out for our behaviour when it is actually out of order (even if names such as diva/dragon are a lazy and sexist label in themselves)

Regarding Sophie , this is not the first time I have seen posters saying the Palace issued statements protecting her . I am a fairly avid Royal reader but cannot recall anything like that .
If someone is willing to post links , that would be great.

The palace protected Sophie regarding the sheik sting operation as well as the topless pictures.

Ms Noble was sacked from her job for selling the photos and issued an apology in the following months, while Buckingham Palace blasted The Sun for “premeditated cruelty” and complained to the Press Complaints Commission.

Sorry for that link as MN does not allow archive links.

The botox and hair extensions obviously refer to KM.

The KP boss is William, and he has defended himself, his wife and racism against footballers. Yet, has never once told anyone to back down on MM.

Whole articles are taken down when they talk badly about KM.

I wonder about the “Arch” prefix and it’s origin for MM. Seems as if she is trying too hard to create a brand around it. Archie, Archewell, Archetypes. The latter two I do find confusing.

LaMarschallin · 01/10/2022 13:06

HannaHanna

I never can understand why Kate and Meghan should be continually compared to one another.

Really? I don't think it's difficult to understand.
Whether it's right to do so is quite a different matter which, I think, was probably the point you were making.
And you definitely have the moral high ground there.

If you pretend to like either of these women then consider that it’s only contributing to the pressure on them.

For me, I think what I, personally, have said is so mild (and flattering) a comparison that it will contribute not a millibar of pressure.
I don't pretend to like/dislike either of them; I don't know them.
I can actually like/dislike what I see of their actions and - while it may not be the be the best course - I can make opinions about their appearances.
If I post about any of this, I try to be extremely moderate and not unpleasant.

SallyLockheart · 01/10/2022 13:07

Not. Those are just more tabloid reporting. Totally unmerited invasion of privacy is one thing - topless photos which have only been obtained by long lens paparazzi - as is commercial advertising which claimed Kate as a client. Those rightly had RF comments.

Next.

Maireas · 01/10/2022 13:08

What topless pictures of Sophie?
Do you mean Kate?
They did not protect Sophie over the Fake Sheikh. They didn't cast her out if that's what you mean.

HannaHanna · 01/10/2022 13:09

“The KP boss is William, and he has defended himself, his wife and racism against footballers. Yet, has never once told anyone to back down on MM.”

Harry did, just as William did for his own wife. It often seems like everyone else is blamed for not doing things for Meghan that are Harry’s responsibility.

MrsTumblebee · 01/10/2022 13:09

But I’m starting to appreciate that not everyone is so fortunate

Me too.

But that aside - perhaps if he had advised her to think she before she spoke she wouldn’t have then gone on to make a compete and utter fool of herself on OW and at the Disney premier.

oakleaffy · 01/10/2022 13:09

Rein -What horses are guided with
Reign- What a Monarch does

So often these two words are mixed up.

Reining in- To hold someone , or a horse, back, to slow their pace.

Has it ever occurred to you ( and others) that The Palace didn’t issue statements supporting MM was because the allegations were true ?

Yes. I know that. But apparently autocorrect doesn’t.

I think it refers to a photo taken many years ago ( well before Edward) with Chris Tarrant who lifted up Sophie’s top as the photo was taken .
Having had the misfortune to be in Chris Tarrant’s company such behaviour does not surprise me .

HannaHanna · 01/10/2022 13:13

@LaMarschallin I do see why people are inclined to compare and you always seem reasonable.

But people who have strong feelings seem to enjoy using one as a cudgel against the other. Plenty are constantly defending Meghan and attacking Kate without recognizing the damage they do to Meghan herself with these comments.

I think most of my bad feelings about Meghan originated from this forum and the posts of people who consider themselves in her camp. They can’t seem to say anything nice about Meghan without attacking everyone else around.

So were the allegations against Sophie. Actually not allegations, pictures and videos (topless pic was not long lens, it was Sophie having a laugh with her mate when he pulled up her top and took a pic). I will not link the other side of the picture which shows a graphic pic of her.

Those were not allegations, but actual things that took place. The palace issued statements, as I have linked above.

It is clear as day, and often commented on here, that MM is not as 'good' as KM, who 'knew what she was getting into' and 'learned for decades'.

It does not in any way damage MM to point out that, actually others have done worse. That is your twisted way of thinking.
