Anyone else think The Times should not be printing extracts from this new book about Royal Courtiers at this time? Incredibly stupid given that H&M are trying to mend fences? I feel really quite cross for everyone involved - William's efforts to build bridges etc, all going to be in vain now. Very naughty.

People have always whipped themselves up into hysterical hatreds, historically it has been called a witch hunt. Media and social media have escalated this. That is what you are involved in.

As for who the blind came from - I doubt it came from MM directly. But remember, Jessica was her bestie. And Jessica, Jessica’s husband and Lainey all worked for the same tv programme, Etalk. Which was talk about entertainment. So of course they’d have gossiped about people in the spotlight, that was their job.

I suspect the diamond earrings were cock up rather than conspiracy. I don't believe Meghan would have worn them if she knew their history/provenance. Nor does it make sense that BP staff set her up as they would have been in trouble themselves when it all came to light.

I also think at this point anyone flinging mud around will find it sticks to themselves. No book or interview is going to make anyone look better.

Yes I saw an extract, they were all caught on the back foot after the pair of them behaved badly and staff didn't quite know how to handle them. Understandably so.

That person is not a fan either. Glad people have started to see the MM smear for what it is. Glad it's seen and shared. Hopefully will stay in people's memories too. As things stand the RF has the upper hand because the press can write and rewrite history as they want. I think with SM, people will carry the torch and show info from the other side and what actually took place too.

The OW interview has probably spanned hundreds of threads and been discussed endlessly. By that, I am not policing this thread. Just pointing out a fact.

Yes, obviously we will never know exactly how it came to be passed on, but it’s very clear that Meghan was not bothered about being discreet about her experiences of meeting the wider royal family, or her own thoughts about them.

I read the first article about Meghan on that Twitter thread. It had nothing to do with Meghan’s dress. It was obvious and trite comments about her wearing the wrong nail polish, refusing to wear a hat, etc. not even critical of her really. Just made the dress code rules seem silly and outdated, actually.

But we know from the podcast interview with Mariah Carey that she is highly sensitive and prone to taking even compliments as criticism. And that there is a propensity by some view every comment about MM only in terms of comparison to her SIL.

Delving into the first post and finding it to be a false equivalency didn’t make me want to bother with the rest of the “evidence”.
