Anyone else think The Times should not be printing extracts from this new book about Royal Courtiers at this time? Incredibly stupid given that H&M are trying to mend fences? I feel really quite cross for everyone involved - William's efforts to build bridges etc, all going to be in vain now. Very naughty.

Jason Knauf is now working with Conservation International supporting their work in South Asia and Africa which would suggest being comfortable in diverse cultural environements

And that is meant to prove what?

Liila · 25/09/2022 15:31

'There is literally zero negative review from all those who actually know her. Nothing at all.'

Perhaps it would be more accurate to say literally zero negative reviews from those who have gone alone with what she wants? Which would of course be what you'd expect. The problems seem to arise when they are both told no.

And you know that, how?

What are her fellow actors on Suits saying 'no' about? They couldn't have said nicer things about her.

Idgas

And Meghan is a nasty piece of work...

BlueRidge · 25/09/2022 15:38

Ah yes, it was an ad for Reitmans clothing store. She was reported by some who came into contact with her as "the meanest person they had ever met."

Serenster · 25/09/2022 15:42

That was ad where she allegedly walked off with the very expensive shoes she asked for them to provide for her to wear as her wardrobe for the shoot. (Same shoes later seen in a photo of her shoe closet that she posted on The Tig).

Liila · 25/09/2022 15:43

'What are her fellow actors on Suits saying 'no' about? They couldn't have said nicer things about her.'
That's my point.
People on side will of course say nice things about her.
Try and find people who say 'no, H&M weren't allowed to do that but they were very reasonable and understanding about it'. Tumbleweed.

People on side... you mean people that like her?

I don't have a clue what you mean... unless you are talking about the RF or something? They said no?
Of course people have said no to her in her life, everyone has had 'no' at different times for different things and of course we, and her no doubt, have been reasonable about it, but wouldn't be going to the MSM and saying 'guess what, I said No, to Meghan about a change in script on Suits, and she was reasonable!

You're just looking for something to knock her with in a very convoluted and complicated way.

Roomytrouser · 25/09/2022 15:57

Why are there posts which appear horrified at the concept that in some contexts someone is quite old? Me and most of my friends had at least one child at around Meghan’s age and none of us described ourselves as young mums, we weren’t and that’s fine. I really wish this negativity around ageing would stop.

BalloonSlayer · 25/09/2022 16:04

I thought Meghan was very brave to go to a tropical country like Fiji in early pregnancy in light of the Zika virus, which was a massive news story at the time. I remember wondering what I would have done in her position, as I am someone who is always quite anxious but when pregnant saw hazards absolutely everywhere, and think TBH I would have downright refused to go. I was impressed she did and assumed she was more level-headed than me plus had taken advice on the risks. However when she left that market, I did wonder if she had a sudden anxiety attack because there were a lot of mosquitos about. (Although yeah I know they usually come out at night.)

smilesy · 25/09/2022 16:07

@Roomytrouser I agree. I had two teenagers when my third DC was born. I was definitely not young, but by some definitions that interpret “young” to refer to my child, I was 🤷‍♀️Even though I had a 15 year old. The whole age thing is completely irrelevant Maybe it would be better to refer to “New parents” rather than “young” or “old”

BlueRidge · 25/09/2022 16:15

Either way, it's noting to be horrified about. It's a word, that's all, and there are moves afoot to change the term. Job done - no need for Coucous anyone to report to the GMC.

Coucous · 25/09/2022 16:15

I mean if her colleagues she knew for 10 years all said she was a nice and good person then I am not sure what else to look for. Her school and school teachers, university etc.

I would expect one or two people not get along with me in life it's normal - if Majority of people I encounter have a problem with me then there's an issue, but this is not the case with Meghan its the opposite.

Coucous · 25/09/2022 16:17

I am sure if you will find lots of RF scandals if you look closely enough. It's harder though if you a loyal subject who will support them till death.

BlueRidge · 25/09/2022 16:20

"but this is not the case with Meghan its the opposite."

Not necessarily. Those who may not have liked her might just have kept quiet about it. I have met celebrities in the past that I thought were arseholes. I haven't run to the press about them, nor even posted on the regular MN threads about them.

SallyLockheart · 25/09/2022 16:20

well, the articles in the times suggests that more than one or two people didn't get along with her. So, according to your logic, coucous, then there is an issue.

BlueRidge · 25/09/2022 16:21

Same applies to Harry & Meghan.

I was one of those people that denied for a long time that the rest of the family we're working against the Sussexes. Thought it was all media messing about. But it soon became apparent that the stories were twisted and coming from within.

Then came the budget flights fiasco, the exit leak from DW, KP allowing JK to testify against MM and reopen a case with irrelevant info, Camilla employing MM tormentors, Angela Levin as well DM editor and all sorts in-between. I couldn't believe the obvious way they are doing it, how blatant it all is.

They are used to getting away with all of it. But without HMQ, will the public have as much patience and faith when the RF acts like this. Charles and Camilla are not exactly the virtuous pair nor have they as much allegiance as everyone did with the queen.

Spot on. I agree with every part of this.

I was surprised that DW actually admitted on air that the briefing against MM was coming from within the palace. But it simply confirmed what many had already figured out.

BlueRidge · 25/09/2022 16:42

What's the difference between BP "briefing" the media and Omid Scobie doing the same for H&M?

IrisVersicolor · 25/09/2022 16:56

BlueRidge · 25/09/2022 16:42

What's the difference between BP "briefing" the media and Omid Scobie doing the same for H&M?

The difference is that Omid Scoobie is not in the RF. A contact briefing the media with H&M’s perspective on events is not really the same as your own family briefing against you?

That DW claimed on air that the negative stories against M were coming from palace staff and royals confirms H’s claim that they realised that his own family/palace staff were the source of the smears “leaking” to the media.

BlueRidge · 25/09/2022 17:09

But that's exactly what H&M have been doing - briefing against his family.
Hell no, actually WORSE than that. Slagging them off, bold as brass.

Roussette · 25/09/2022 17:13

Slagging them off, bold as brass

What have they done now? Or are we still talking about the OW interview?

But that didn’t start until after the palace started briefing against them.

Then the gloves came off and now they’re briefing against each other, in internecine fighting so common in monarchies historically, with a significant power imbalance in favour of the RF.

Roussette · 25/09/2022 17:13

Well quite. M&H are simply trying to get their perspective out there, they’ve criticised the RF, I would say they brief against them. I haven’t seen them “slag them off”.

HannaHanna · 25/09/2022 17:23

It seems like many are now going to follow the path H&M have laid out and start openly sharing their own “truth” now.

I think the palace protected H&M by limiting the number of staffers interviewed for the investigation and then keeping it under wraps. I also think the staff kept quiet in deference (and fear) for the Queen. I don’t think it’s realistic to blame the royal family for not being able to keep angry staffers from speaking to the press now that she is going and there is so much uncertainty. Regardless of your own opinion, it’s obvious that some people do feel they were treated poorly by the Sussexes.

I also think we are already seeing why “never complain, never explain” was the best path. It’s already a complete shit show.
