I've been wondering about this all week.

What do people think? Would William want that ? Would Kate?

All the Gloucesters/Kents etc won't pass down the HRH & Prince/ss part of the title - that only goes as far as grandchildren of a monarch (via sons), so it will die out with the QE2's cousins.

For the same reason Beatrice & Eugenie won't pass it on, the Philips never had it.

Edward/Sophie's 2 could use it, but don't, and Louise is now 18 but no mention of wanting to be HRH Princess Louise.

H&M have given up the HRH part when they stopped being working royals -their choice - and when A was born didn't want him to use his title.

So it would be odd for A&L to have 'the works' and be HRH Prince/ss. Not such a dramatic snub as some people are making it out to be?

AnnunciataZ · 19/09/2022 17:23

If she is, they are even bigger hypocrites. They made a big thing dg at W&K about only having two due the environmental impact.

No they didn't, Harry interviewed Jane Goodalll* and it was just a lighthearted comment between them. The way people go on about it you'd think they released an official statement!

Snog · 19/09/2022 17:24

If Harry really valued the security of himself and his children he could choose to go back to being a working royal based in Windsor with full security.
It's clearly not that important to him.

You’re not doing them any favours by reminding us.

My point being that he could step in for Camilla, but with all his millions, could not do a thing for his own baby grandson.

Harry inherited millions from his mother and other family members. I'm a supporter (ish) of monarchy, but only those who are working royals. I'd be fuming if Charles was continuing to fund those who have walked away from service to the country.

H&M have had terrible treatment in the press and have probably struggled with what they were expected to do. I couldn't hack that life and bear no ill will to those who walk away. But like fuck should they still be funded, and their security should be provided in line with everyone else - only when judged necessary by the security services.

I can't remember exactly. But the media hadn't known anything until afterwards. He visited the Queen in a private visit. Which was fitting. Not everything needs to be announced to the media.

His whole court case has been about his lack of police protection, so I don't think this attitude of "pictures or it didn't happen" is very realistic. Of course they'll keep it quiet - you'd have to be pretty thick to draw attention to it. They've had a house here - you don't know how much time they've spent in it. Just because visits haven't been publicised doesn't mean they haven't happened. They've been pretty complaint if what some seem to believe is true and their last contact was the revelations on Oprah followed by the snub at the jubilee. And all quiet on the book front. I don't think they've mended their relationship by any means, but I wouldn't be surprised if there's been more contact than we hear about.

Most people on here have no evidence to back up most of what they say but they still say it. Mainly if it helps trash Meghan

I agree that it's all speculation. I don't like Meghan but today she behaved impeccably and I saw that with my own eyes. That's evidence.

I guess including HMQ's words then....................

My view is that they honestly believed there was time to patch things up, as why else would they be in Europe in summer with, 'no plans to visit Balmoral...' citing schedule clashes etc.

So sad Harry wasn't in time to be with his grandmother in time, but think it will be, 'business as usual,' in a weeks time.

hewouldwouldnthe · 19/09/2022 18:56

Doesn't harry have a huge inheritance from his mother?

Yet you had no problem with him supporting his then girlfriend Camilla (who at the time had never done any work for the country or crown at all). But you have a problem with him supporting his son.

And you know very well they asked to continue the service, but without taking from the taxpayer and were told to sod off.

He did, but now he has to pay for everything with it, it's running out. I'd have had more respect for them both had they bought a less ostentatious house. No, I'm not saying they should live in a 2 up 2 down and lived quietly and done their charity work, which is what they apparently wanted.

Harry had a large inheritance from both his mother and the Queen mother, she didn't leave any to William because he would be king.

PipinwasAuntieMabelsdog · 19/09/2022 19:01

@notanotheroneagain Why should KC not give his lover and wife his money? Why does his 36 yo have anymore claim. It's KC's money, he gets to choose what he does with it. Harry had a very generous allowance whilst he was working, now he isn't. Tough shit.

I think it was the principle of it all.

Firstly, H&M were given a 1 year to think about it. What was this? As far as I could tell, it was a Gardening Leave - which is normal in high ranking jobs and stipulates that you must be paid your full salary and benefits. H&M did their job that year, due to covid it was zoom calls, just like other royals. Why did the firm then not say, what are you doing contacting your old charities, you are completely out.

Harry said he never thought security would be taken from him. Why was it not clarified at the summit which category he falls into. He obviously thought his proximity to HMQ and Charles qualified him for category1.

Anyway, all will be clarified in court and why the book is needed.

How did Harry become royal again?

How is he able to divorce himself from the very blood running through his veins?

Id love to know! I'm sure he would as well?

Ohnonevermind · 19/09/2022 19:10

As H&M have finished with sunshine Sachs that will save them a reported $2m a year.
That’s a hefty chunk of change

SallyLockheart · 19/09/2022 19:14

not gardening leave at all - the one year discussion was more of an open option to return if they so wished. they did no working royal duties in that year.

security. they wanted to be IPPs without thinking it through that as non- working royals they wouldn't qualify. Under their half in/half out option, they may well have qualified for ongoing security but not in the final deal.
