I've been wondering about this all week.

What do people think? Would William want that ? Would Kate?

I'd say M&H will be gone ASAP. Who knows whether the leaks in the past week were true or not but I have a feeling they will be quite aggrieved and more things will come out.

Unfortunately the monarchy isn't just a family and they will do anything to protect The Firm. Therein lies a big part of why things have gone they way they've gone with M&H. I feel very sorry for Harry after this week, I don't think him being in the RF is any good for him, he's so sad looking and The Firm/Family won't protect him. Looking back now, I'm not so sure that the RF dealt with M&H's departure with the compassion they possibly should have, I feel Harry, a son, brother is deeply troubled.

@pawkins totally agree.

Arbesque · 19/09/2022 12:45

I feel sorry for him as well. I don't think things were fully thought through and now they've gone so far it's hard to find a way back.

OliviaBean · 19/09/2022 12:46

And the media need to calm the f**k down with their, a very sad day for Britain and indeed the entire world. No, not really, Britain perhaps but the entire world not so much. I hope they get some perspective in the coming weeks.

Kate is now gone to saint status, it's pretty nauseating.

Ladybyrd · 19/09/2022 12:50

@OliviaBean There was a lady who went to pay her respects who said she was the only woman in history who everyone knew, even in every tiny remote island on the other side of the world. I grant you, she was incredibly famous. If you asked her who the King of Spain is though, I doubt she'd have been able to tell you. We attribute so much importance to ourselves - it's embarrassing.

OliviaBean · 19/09/2022 13:01

I admired QE for how she applied herself to the role she signed on for. Her longevity means so many know of her. One woman that met something like 13 US presidents, that in itself is quite impressive.

Saying that, the media need to get perspective, she was 96, she had a good life. I think again the whole funeral/mourning that has gone on again shows how The Family and The Firm are so intertwined.

At times, it felt very intrusive to QE's family such was the coverage but then as members of The Firm, The Family by into that.

Yet, Charles arranged millions for Camilla's adult children. Making sure they had a nice little trust fund. But can't do anything for a son facing threats, with a baby grandson.

Really?

Where did you read about his?

And I have been to that island. Tristan da Cunha, the most remote island in the world.... 4 days by boat to Brazil, and 5 days to South Africa. Stuck in the middle of the Atlantic, no airstrip to fly in. You can only reach it by boat. Such an experience to actually go there.
They absolutely love everything to do with Royalty, especially the Queen. It is an English island with quite a history. I will check out their FB feed later to see what they have to say.

elizaregina · 19/09/2022 13:08

I was wondering how Camila's children will feature now.
They have been pretty back seat so far.

Ladybyrd · 19/09/2022 13:10

I'm sure there are many places like that in the world. And it is impressive. But as I say, if you asked this lady who the king of Spain was, I suspect she would struggle to tell you, yet I suspect he's quite a big deal in Spain.

In the Middle East, it's an entirely different world in many ways and they don't universally place importance on our Queen, from what I've seen anyway, although I'm sure she was popular with some. But this idea that the other whole world is in mourning is fairly ridiculous.

No.

To my first born, I give the £23 million per year income generated by the Duchy of Cornwall, title of Prince of Wales.

To the second, I give my love. And wish him a safe journey home.

It was reported that Charles supported Harry when he moved by giving him money each month?

More than reported. Evidence from the accounts, long after the move.

Roussette · 19/09/2022 13:12

Agree Ladybyrd sorry I was derailing Blush

Ladybyrd · 19/09/2022 13:14

@Roussette was that where Philip went during his tour when he went off on Britannia?

HappyPeach · 19/09/2022 13:15

Harry will be back when his marriage fails.

MaulPerton · 19/09/2022 13:34

Kate is now gone to saint status, it's pretty nauseating.

For some unfathomable reason, she didn't attempt to destroy the very institution that gave her a multitude of good things. Who knew that this is how things work?

Roussette · 19/09/2022 13:36

Ladybyrd · 19/09/2022 13:14

@Roussette was that where Philip went during his tour when he went off on Britannia?

Yes. I went to St Phillips Hall on the island and ate a paper plate of rock lobster, the only thing they can export and make money from. The walls were covered with pictures of him. They use our currency and had never seen the newer one pound coin and I gave out all the coins I had, they were delighted

hewouldwouldnthe · 19/09/2022 13:44

Hopefully not. He should let them make their own way in the world as they have expressed a wish to do. Once the coronation is over they have no further need to return.

AIMummy · 19/09/2022 13:50

HappyPeach · 19/09/2022 13:15

Harry will be back when his marriage fails.

Actually I think their marriage will be stronger because of everything they've been through.

I hope so. The institution have thrown him under a bus his whole life to protect saint William and his family stood back and let them do it.

Ladybyrd · 19/09/2022 14:04

@Roussette That sounds amazing.

I love all the history of the RF. It's just that going forward, a lot of the principles jarr.

I think it would have pleased The Queen greatly if there had been a reconciliation before she died and I am pretty sure Charles would like nothing better but how likely is it ? I simply cannot see Meghan wanting to live in the U.K. again

If H&M had known the Queen had so little time left when she invited them to Balmoral would they have gone? Maybe. H was keen enough when we knew the end was close, but only Anne & Charles, who were in Scotland, made it in time. Perhaps as well - M would have merched "The Queens last moments".

Harry and Megan were “dis-invited” from
the banquet last night. Big statement that they are “out”.

I read ( can’t remember where) that the invitations were issued based on out of date list that was part of Operation London Bridge then someone realised the mistake .

She was 96 , had clearly deteriorated in recent months . It didn’t take Einstein to work out that HM was coming to the end of her life. Frankly I think it was shocking that H didn’t visit the Grandmother he professed to love and admire so much . I can ( sort of) understand why M didn’t want to go to Balmoral but I am sure she could have amused herself in London for a couple of days .

And I read that Omid Scobi put out the story that they were invited. They never were, but "disinvited" garners sypathy

Will they return for the Coronation? Harry would have to kneel in front of Charles and Camilla and I cannot imagine him doing that .
