Do Camilla and Charles live separately?

She was dropped off in Wiltshire. I was surprised they didn't stay together today.

I'm not hating btw just genuinely curious and I kind of admire her for creating her own space if
It's true.

ALSO, because it's driving me crazy, did Anne and Tim separate briefly back in the nougties?

I'm sure I remember it being announced on Sky, but it was never mentioned again and he seemed to continue accompanying her to Royal engagements.

I didn’t mean you @CaptainBarbosa but yeah. Definitely a WFH job…

NiqueNique · 16/09/2022 12:01

I think that’d be a very risky strategy, knowing how MN threads are wont to take on a life of their own! Grin

I know but "if you don't ask, you don't get" seemed like a natural opening to volunteer 🤣

As a lone parent I have to boost my income wherever possible, so I'll sell a kidney if need be or a pound of flesh if it keeps the heating on over the winter 🤣

Dillydaffy · 16/09/2022 12:11

@Grandeur if someone could get Charlie and Tiggi to write a book it would be a bestseller! They never would though, they are too fond of the boys and protective of the fact they deserved to sew some oats like anyone else. The landlord of The Rattlebone alerted the press to the fact Prince Harry smoked weed in their whilst playing pool and the landlord was ever after ostracised by that village’s community and it only because a good pub again when it changed hands.

antelopevalley · 16/09/2022 12:13

@Dillydaffy so ostracising a local business person because they told the press William was behaving illegally is good?

Dillydaffy · 16/09/2022 12:14

@Grandeur I heard it about Tim from my horsey gang - they employ many grooms between them as you can imagine. If you go for a wander in Cherington you will see many royals going about their daily routine and often hacking out.

Dillydaffy · 16/09/2022 12:16

@antelopevalley I didn’t live in that village but they are very protective of ‘their’ royals. I think they felt the boys should be allowed to be young and silly like everyone else. It was just hoped I suppose that they behaved once they were married. Kate was extremely patient with William when they were dating 😯

MrsFezziwig · 16/09/2022 11:22

Many posters on here clearly disagree with you.

Yes I know. But why marry? It seems more like a boyfriend/girlfriend arrangement than a marriage.

antelopevalley · 16/09/2022 12:18

@Dillydaffy It just seems awful to ostracise someone like that. Possibly medieval.
I have read Kate was as you call it patient. I hope it was worth it for her.

She said Harry , not William.

derxa · 16/09/2022 12:35

Charlie and Tiggy were at the wedding. Charlie and Tiggy... yegh right
Prince Charles and Tiggy Legge Bourke an inspiration perhaps

I've Googled it and she's absolutely correct.

https://www.gazetteandherald.co.uk/news/9010447.norton-landlords-take-a-royal-wedding-break/

Landlords Charles Walker and Tiggi Wood who run the Vine Tree pub at Norton had one of the best seats in the house for the royal wedding of Prince William and Catherine Middleton.

Dillysaffy said it was Harry behaving illegally.

Someone says something you don't like or disagree with. You have two options.

  1. "Call them out". That way all the posts remain and the discussion remains intact.
  1. Report the post as not being in the spirit of Mumsnet, offensive or whatever and the post is taken down. Then the whole thread is disrupted.

Yes that is what I have done.

Arbesque · 16/09/2022 12:40

diddl · 16/09/2022 11:24

William and Harry used to help themselves to the young girls in the area

So the young girls were all neatly lined up for W&H to "help themselves to" & had no say in the matter?

I though it was a rather strange turn of phrase.

Fair enough

Dillydaffy · 16/09/2022 12:42

@Arbesque sorry if it came across wrong. What I mean is that the girls at the Hunt balls, polo parties and NY Eve parties at the Vine Tree would make it very apparent that they were interested and the boys had their pick!

undermilkjug · 16/09/2022 12:37

Dillysaffy said it was Harry behaving illegally.

If someone was behaving illegally, why would your first thought be the press?
££££

Dillydaffy · 16/09/2022 12:55

@diddl the thought was by locals that Neil was well paid for selling the story. He stayed local, although he gave up the pub. His wife suffered most from it all I think, she had a bad drink problem and died a few years ago.

Prince Philip lived separately with his woman partner coach driver in a cottage at Sandringham. I think they even let her attend the funeral.
Are you talking about Penny Braeburn, Countess Mountbatten who is married to the 3rd Earl Mountbatten, grandson of Louis Mountbatten, Prince Philips uncle. As such the whole RF is very close to the Mountbattens - Prince Charles gave their daughter away at her wedding at Windsor because the 3rd Earl now has Alzheimers. Penny Braeburn lives at Broadlands in Hampshire and runs the estate. She lives 70 miles away from Windsor.
Why make horrible stuff up about a dead man?

She's not Penny Braeburn, she's Penny Brabourne.

I am not a Royalist, but I hope the monarchy survives a bit longer. I'd go mad without all this juicy gossip. Which seems to be the sum total of the monarchy's raison d'etre anyway.

I'm trying to dig up the memory of Anne and Tim's marriage breakdown and I think
The Queen told her a second divorce was not possible.

Who are Anne and Tim?

They are better than EadtEnders these days. The decision to share more of their lives in an attempt to keep themselves relevant opened an entire can of worms that amuse the world.

FayeGovan · 16/09/2022 13:21

There is an article about Camilla's house with pictures here www.hellomagazine.com/homes/20220915151151/queen-consort-camilla-ray-mill-house-photos/?utm_medium=social_media&campaign=hellouk&utm_source=Facebook#Echobox=1663228646

I do wonder when pictures were taken though and if decor had changed, it definitely is if a certain style. One picture of kitchen was pre sale to Camilla's family so I wouldn't have imagined it was kept the same as this time
