Do Camilla and Charles live separately?

She was dropped off in Wiltshire. I was surprised they didn't stay together today.

I'm not hating btw just genuinely curious and I kind of admire her for creating her own space if
It's true.

ALSO, because it's driving me crazy, did Anne and Tim separate briefly back in the nougties?

I'm sure I remember it being announced on Sky, but it was never mentioned again and he seemed to continue accompanying her to Royal engagements.

That Hello article refers to Camilla's £850k house. Must be worth an awful lot more!

vera99 · 16/09/2022 13:42

Is that a racist lamp stand ?

It was £850k in the 90s so really they should be saying her £3.5m house at this point, but it's like they're trying to make her sound relateable!

@Grandeur if someone could get Charlie and Tiggi to write a book it would be a bestseller! They never would though, they are too fond of the boys and protective of the fact they deserved to sew some oats like anyone else. The landlord of The Rattlebone alerted the press to the fact Prince Harry smoked weed in their whilst playing pool and the landlord was ever after ostracised by that village’s community and it only because a good pub again when it changed hands.

I used to smoke weed in that woodshed to get out of the wind in my much younger days.
The pub stopped selling Rizlas after Harry was rumbled, so people had to drive to Malmesbury to buy them.
Very annoying!

I know. Amazing what a difference a few years makes. I suspect the reason she’s looking morose is that unlike the rest of us, who gave a working life and then retire, she’s lived a very comfortable work free life up till now, but that’s about to change.

It tickles me that most on here admire Camilla, a notorious adulteress, but will absolutely crucify any poster who admits to cheating!

Meant to attach this post.

Floralei · 16/09/2022 15:30

She’s probably also looking a bit morose due to her broken toe. Just what you don’t need right now.

Does Princess Anne have security? And her children? Zara’s married to Mike Tindall, I wondered if the family get security…must have been quite strange for Mike Tindall marrying into the Royal Family.
As far as I’m aware he was from a working class background..

No. She only has a protection officer when she is on royal duties.

'What a guy, living with the OW at the age of almost 100. I wonder if the Queen posted on here and someone told her to LTB'
.I think the queen deserved better than that. She must have been lonely. Or maybe she was glad to have PP off her hands, he seemed quite hard work.

You know that it's rubbish, don't you? Some people parrot gossip as fact, and others repeat.

stillavid · 16/09/2022 16:52

I think there is a difference between the aristocracy of 50-100 years ago and now in terms of what they are prepared to put up with.

If anyone watches 'The Windsors' - I love the character of Pippa who managed to marry a billionaire 'you know a 1 with 9 zeros' 😂

Surely that would be the best thing, marry some nice billionaire who isn't an aristocrat and live the life without all the scrutiny.

@CPL593H I live locally to Gatcombe and Tim has a younger girlfriend.

Says some randomer on an anonymous internet forum.

I hope so. Got a bit sad thinking of the queen being lonely in her old age. I imagine it's quite a lonely position being a monarch anyway, even if you are surrounded by people.

I think what people forget is The Queen worked, she had a job. She couldn't also care for Prince Philip. Extensive work was done to the farmhouse to accommodate him, and if family members and friends stepped in to do that caring responsibility so be it. Peter (the eldest grandchild) was rumoured to have visited weekly if not daily.

If anything covid was a blessing for them, they actually got to live together in Windsor. I'm sure if there was a scandal they would have remained in their seperate households. But it was clear to me anyway that COVID which reduced her duties allowed them to be together.

I'm sure like many marriages they had their ups and downs, and whatnot, but I don't believe towards their later years there was some sort of sordid scandal going on 🤷🏻‍♀️

and not all relationships need to be sex related.

Most of the houses mentioned here are privately owned by the occupants, so not at a cost to the taxpayer. There's a big difference between Crown properties (e.g. Windsor Castle, Buckingham Palace, Holyrood House) and those owned by the family who happen to be the Royal Family e.g. Gatcombe Park (P Anne), Sandringham (Was QE2, now presumably the King) Balmoral (same), Highgrove (the King). One lot are part of the Crown Estates, with all income earned e.g. from farms, visitors etc, going to the Government in return for the Civil List, the others purchased by personal wealth same as any rich family could do finances permitting.

The only saving would be on protection, and a lot of that is assigned to the person and follow them from one residence to another

How do you think they acquired their ‘privately owned’ property? None of them, or there ancestors, have ever had real jobs. Every property they have is on the backs of the British taxpayers.

On the main issue, I divorced after 29-years and was convinced that I would never live with a man again, that if I was in a relationship, we would each keep our own home. When I did meet someone, it turned out he was my soul mate. We’ve been living together for 14 years, married 7 and I couldn’t be happier. It seems we can’t predict these things.

JustLyra · 16/09/2022 19:00

Highgrove will be an interesting one - it’s owned by the Dutchy of Cornwall. So technically the use of it should likely now revert to William and Catherine.

I can’t see Charles wanting to give it up though - I think that will be as tough as it was getting QEQM to leave Buckingham Palace for Clarence House.

Hopeandlove · 16/09/2022 19:07

Floralei · 15/09/2022 19:49

It’s called Ray Mill House - you’d think if it had been in one’s family, one might know how to spell it correctly…

I noticed that the person claimed they used ho
own it 😂or were involved with selling it

royals and upper classes traditionally sleep
in separate rooms and live separated and didn’t look after the children. The queen sometimes was 4 weeks or longer away from
her children when they were babies or young and it was accepted. They didn’t go.
Camilla’s house was 15 minutes drive from Highgrove - it was brought for a reason. A bolt hole and hers if relationship with Charles didn’t work out. He hates noise, smoking and mess - she doesn’t mind them apparently.
No need for the blended families to meet in the early days.
APB and PA were reported to be quite the shaggers in their youth.

A couple I know have a main house and a holiday home in Devon and a house in France. Both are still married. Both love separately and have new relationships as has been the case for 10 years. No chance of them divorcing. Everything is separate and was bank account and bill wise. Children happy. Their wills leave everything to each other and then their own children. New partners will inherit nothing.

seems quite common.

Royals often have affairs and actually it probably would be the case even now that couples will not get divorced because they don’t want to, they don’t agree with it or want the hassle.

and I’m sure like Princess Margaret was told yes you can marry him
but you give up your income and she refused to want to be out of the family - so others refuse.

in years to come we may find Philip or Elizabeth had affairs but ultimately if they did - how do you prove it without evidence?
just like posters on here suspect but don’t have evidence - I’m sure it goes on with the royals too.

PA might strike a deal for example - no public events not seen in public but he is allowed to remarry Sarah and live quietly on a small allowance or he might want a proper royal family wedding and be told no.

but for me - I will not get remarried and risk my children inheritance. Sarah and Andrew might just be happy to live together without the ceremony. Or maybe they both have new partners ? Who knows

I don’t think you get ‘gay ‘ Royals. Secretly maybe, but not publicly.
I don’t think the monarchy will like that , no matter how modern they say they are.
George is second in line to the throne, obviously William has hopefully a long way to go yet.

It’s very well known in the theatre world that Edward is gay. He used to be very involved with London theatre. Not sure if he still is. He had to marry and produce children of course. I wonder if that would still be the case.

J0y · 16/09/2022 19:26

I dont think Sophie would have married him if he were gay. She seems too normal.

I thought Freddie Windsor might be gay tbh or one of lady sarah chatto's sons.
Possibly, who knows. But Edward! No

Roussette · 16/09/2022 19:35

Charles will never give up Highgrove. Ever. He's said so and intends to work out of there whenever possible

Most gay men or bi men don’t tell the women they marry 🤷‍♀️ As I said, it’s well known in the theatre acting fraternity.

He’ll have to pay rent to the Dutchy then…

It’s his personal property, not part of the Duchy estate.
