Do Camilla and Charles live separately?

EdieLedwell · 15/09/2022 17:29

She was dropped off in Wiltshire. I was surprised they didn't stay together today.

I'm not hating btw just genuinely curious and I kind of admire her for creating her own space if
It's true.

ALSO, because it's driving me crazy, did Anne and Tim separate briefly back in the nougties?

I'm sure I remember it being announced on Sky, but it was never mentioned again and he seemed to continue accompanying her to Royal engagements.

Also worth noting that William and Catherine had Camilla’s granddaughter as a bridesmaid .

Penny Brabourne’s daughter Leonora died aged 5 , she was Diana’s god daughter and her sister was Charles’ god daughter . The family have raised millions for childhood cancer charities.

Charles was the best man when Penny married Norton who is the second cousin of Charles.

@NiqueNique We all know some are far from perfect.
The Royal Family seem to have a higher rate of divorce than most families.

Someone says something you don't like or disagree with. You have two options.

  1. "Call them out". That way all the posts remain and the discussion remains intact.
  1. Report the post as not being in the spirit of Mumsnet, offensive or whatever and the post is taken down. Then the whole thread is disrupted.

This was a reply to @Arbesque's question marks, the quote function didn't work.

Not according to my ex-RN ex-husband, whose ship was at the Falklands. He and his ex-matelot mates would swear blind that Andrew never flew anywhere near any serious action.

People also say the same about Harry and having been a military family for 30 years I’m well versed in how people can take great delight in running others down while blowing their own trumpet.

Let her crack on and report as much as she likes. At least then she wont be furiously responding to every single comment and name-calling.

Harry himself complained he was not allowed to go into the most risky combat with his unit.
It is not running down their achievements. But the truth is the services did not want to have to report to the public that either had died in the line of duty. So they did what they could to prevent that happening.

This.

Frightening, and really, really depressing.

But for a lot of people the history and heritage don’t matter one bit; it’s just about a seat ringside at the circus. So they don’t know any of the underpinnings and don’t understand the significance of the detail, hence they cannot understand why things are done the way they are and why it matters.

Exactly.

Yes I think it’s much more likely that they worked through the difficult patch and have found themselves happy together again.

Anyone expecting PDA or fussiness/excess emotion from Princess Anne is quite unaware of her personality and her approach to Royal duties. She is old school.

Quite, the grief and strain of this week is visible on Anne's face, but if she started clutching Sir Tim's hand in public I'd think we'd reached the End of Days.

This is NOT a criticism of the RF members who are more openly demonstrative, just that it isn't her way, never has been and doubt it ever will be.

Dillydaffy · 16/09/2022 11:12

@CPL593H I live locally to Gatcombe and Tim has a younger girlfriend.

I've skim read the thread what have I mistaken ?

Mainly the idea that randoms on this thread have superior insider knowledge into the domestic arrangements of the royals?

Dillydaffy · 16/09/2022 11:16

@MrsFezziwig You forget that these people have staff. They live in communities. Their children go to schools. People work as their grooms, their car cleaners. They do not live entirely behind walls and gates. They are known in the communities they live in. Zara is always getting speeding fines - I know that because of where I live. William and Harry used to help themselves to the young girls in the area when they were young - I know that because I know some of the girls.

MuckyPlucky · 16/09/2022 11:18

I can vouch for the perks of running two separate houses. Myself and DP of several years do this. Houses are adjacent to one another. We spend agreed portions of the week together, holiday together, decorate jointly, share food etc, attend weddings and events as a ‘married couple’ are each others NOK etc… but we get our own front door, our own space, enough autonomy. It’s amazing. I’d never in a million years go back to cohabiting like I used to with ex-DH.

If the unfounded rumours speculation and gossip go from Mumsnet then I want my subs back and will cancel my subscription. 😁The pearl clutchers may be interested to know that us abolitionists are committing sedition potentially punishable by life imprisonment.

I wonder why anyone would marry if you do not want to live with each other.
If DP and I had separate houses we would just spend all of our time at one of them.
And the Royals hardly live in a two up and two down. Many live in 80 to 120 room homes. Very easy to get away from each other in one house.

Many posters on here clearly disagree with you.

NiqueNique · 16/09/2022 11:23

@MuckyPlucky so many marriages would be much, much happier were that an option to the individuals involved. I am very happy to be able to live with DH now (luckily we are very well suited) but we previously kept separate households for 10 plus years and it worked very well indeed.

diddl · 16/09/2022 11:24

William and Harry used to help themselves to the young girls in the area

So the young girls were all neatly lined up for W&H to "help themselves to" & had no say in the matter?

BiddyPop · 16/09/2022 11:27

I am currently dreaming of buying a house locally that is for sale - unfortunately it is up for significantly more than I can get in a mortgage in my own right. Mostly it's because of teen DD, but DH and I occasionally sleep separately as we both snore in recent years. And we do have different approaches to house decor and clutter. But we would likely still spend a lot of time together even if I did find somewhere that would work for me.

Dillydaffy · 16/09/2022 11:28

@diddl gosh no. They were delighted to be picked. There is one house near me where it is said there should be a blue plaque because of what Harry got up to in there!!! . They had a room upstairs at the Vine Tree pub in Norton where they could go to drink and play cards slightly out of camera’s way and the landlords Charlie and Tiggy were at the wedding.

This is some fantastic insider knowledge, @Dillydaffy Grin I always take people who claim to know personal facts about them with a pinch of salt, but this is the most reputable comment I've seen on here!

I'm curious as to how you know Tim has a younger girlfriend. Is it just an 'open secret' kind of thing in the area?

ImJustMadAboutSaffron · 16/09/2022 11:51

I find it interesting on the various royal threads over the past few days where there's been talk about affairs by different family members. It seems to be accepted and tolerated or even expected, whereas on a relationship board it would be:

Leave the bastard
Where's your self respect
What are you teaching the children
Get your ducks in a row

Etc.

I think that's because the injured party is telling their side, their truth and we naturally will help.

In this assumed fiasco nobody is coming out as the inured party telling their side, so it's all just speculation and rumour.

What and How people manage their marriages up to them, if they choose to forgive and move on, live separately, remain married but have other partners, have an open marriage or there never was an affair, we are not privy to that and shouldn't be accusing and gossiping.

When you say help themselves, do you mean took advantage of them?
