Charles and that “bloody” pen

The clip of Charles with the leaking pen is an interesting insight into how the royals behave and how they are treated by their seemingly very obsequious staff. Is Charles’ behaviour reasonable or do you think he’s kicking up an unnecessary fuss? Interested to hear other people’s perspectives really because I’ve never seen a clip like this before.

I think it demonstrates beautifully how hes a pompous entitled twit. I think you can learn a lot by how someone treats people in a ‘lower’ power position.

What, the pen?

Sorry how did he treat people “lower” than him in that room exactly??? Did he direct something at someone? Did he speak disrespectfully to someone? Did he fuck the pen at a plebs head?

asblindasabat · 13/09/2022 22:53

it was quite funny. I think it just shows he’s human like the rest of us! I’d probably have said worse if I had got ink all over me!

that said, he will undoubtedly be stressed and emotional right now so might be irritable

The only one trying to help out was Camilla while everyone else just stood there watching.

I think that's because he's so tetchy, it's going to be exhausting for Camilla if he can't even negotiate signing a document.

Whatsthepointofmosquitos · 13/09/2022 22:55

What a fuss about nothing.

He behaves like a normal tired elderly man doing something he doesn’t want to do and near the end of his tether. He doesn’t even know the date anymore poor dude. He should be in an armchair somewhere watching telly, not zooming around the country marching after cars while people throw things at his mother’s hearse and shout at his brother. Just the stress of doing ‘meet and greet’ with the public while
knowing how many lunatics and terrorists are in the world must be incredible.

And surely it can’t be that hard, with that number of servants, for someone to perhaps make sure that the pen the King has to sign a book about his mothers death actually works?

lemonyanus · 13/09/2022 22:57

'I’m sure he is and that’s totally understandable - but I can’t imagine Queen Elizabeth behaving in that way?'

Prince Philip would have though! Remember his 'take the fucking picture' moment? They're only human OP.

Rainbowcat99 · 13/09/2022 22:57

I saw absolutely nothing remarkable in this video at all, the pen leaked and went all over their hands both Charles and Camille exclaimed over this slightly then moved on. Are we all causing drama because Charles said "bloody"?
I'm so glad I'm not royal, having every tiny moment of your life picked over like this must be exhausting!!

heartbroken22 · 13/09/2022 23:00

He definitely wanted a mummy to marry rather than someone like Diana who wanted a husband. She got a little boy. Think he took it out on the pen because he got the date wrong.

Nope, he's still doing his tour of the British Isles. Friday is cardiff (3 different places of course, paraded in between for all to see)

Oh yes I'd forgotten he's still got the service at Cardiff to go as well! He's

heartbroken22 · 13/09/2022 23:00

He had a mini tantrum 😂

She did not behave the best when Diana died for example.
In what way?

She didn’t say anything. Criticism mounted then she gave a speech.

Charles is 73. He’s grieving and he’s probably exhausted too.

megletthesecond · 13/09/2022 23:05

He needs a decent biro and a rest.
I manage to get that pissed off about things most days without grief and being in the public eye.

ijustcouldntthinkofausername · 13/09/2022 23:05

Poor man his mom has just died and he can't grieve in peace because he's got cameras on him left right and centre and he's plastered over the news internationally. He is grieving and is stressed to the hills 🥺

SirenSays · 13/09/2022 23:06

I'm sure I'd have said worse 🤣

Scrambler4 · 13/09/2022 23:11

I hope if he goes walk about tomorrow shaking hands with the public he yells “ get your fuckin phones out of my face! I’d have a whole new respect for him if he did that.

tara66 · 13/09/2022 23:17

He was signing important historical document so I think he should have had a decent pen and known (or be reminded of) the date - considering what his state of body and mind was likely to be in those particular circumstances.

mistermagpie · 13/09/2022 23:23

Most people take time of work when they lose a parent, Charles has been working more than he ever has before. He's in his 70s and has been travelling around all week being filmed and gawped at and shouted at. He must be absolutely shattered. I personally would give him a pass for being a bit grumpy, most of us would be on our knees by now.

scissorsandsellotape · 13/09/2022 23:34

I was wondering whether they have the day off tomorrow
They must be shattered

Bythehairywartsonmywitchychin · 13/09/2022 23:40

He is singing very important documents, in front of TV cameras. I’d be pretty pissed off too, and embarrassed if the bloody pen I’d be given had leaked everywhere. Twice now his staff have fucked up and made him look daft, off with their heads I say! 👸🏻 🃏

*signing….

Rainbowcat99 · 13/09/2022 23:42

Are these the same staff who have all been handed redundancy notices?
Wondering if it's deliberate 😆

This 😂

I couldn't believe it on Friday when he stopped outside Buckingham Palace to greet the public and the sheer amount of rude arseholes that were just shoving their phones in his face!

Bythehairywartsonmywitchychin · 13/09/2022 23:47

Plus the getting the date wrong, I’d be the same, every day will be rolling into one.

He’s not being given time to grieve and is under Immense pressure, his staff are making him look incompetent. Perhaps they’re doing it on purpose?

FrangipaniBlue · 13/09/2022 23:54

StressfulBedtimes · 13/09/2022 21:39

His mother died
He has had a camera in his face and his every move scrutinised all day every day since
He’s flying back and forth all over the place and waving and shaking hands with strangers all day
He’s having to take part in ceremony after ceremony and sign paper after paper at a time he should be grieving
He isn’t allowed to cry or show anything but stoicism days after watching his mother die and being surrounded by it constantly since
He’s 73
So yeah I think a pen leaking on me would’ve tipped me over the edge too if I were him
Poor man should be at home crying and going over old photo albums in his comfies surrounded by the people he loves right now
I hope he signs the next thing in biro

This. A million times over.

As someone who has lost both parents I cannot imagine having to effectively start a new job within hours and one which puts me in the constant public eye at that.

I think I'd want to scream.

OutwiththeOutCrowd · 14/09/2022 00:10

He and Camilla should be allowed to lie low until the funeral. All the frantic glad-handing and jumping through one ceremonial hoop after another is just too much.
