I've seen a clip on Instagram where a group of women completely blanked MM when she spoke to them. It was awful to watch.
I feel so sorry for her, she didn't deserve that at all.
I saw another clip where someone had asked her for a hug, she obliged and when they hugged she really held the member of public and closed her eyes, it looked as if she really needed that hug .
No wonder she ran away from the UK

I really feel for her. She was victimized and bullied by the media from day one, and after that comment about her baby's skin colour and all the other stuff she's put up with, anything other than leaving would have meant a life of misery and silence for her and her children.
And all this stuff about her causing grief for the royals... Is she not allowed to speak about her experiences then? Is she meant to shut up and look pretty? The misogyny and racism that woman has had to endure is absolutely disgusting. There's far more talk about her causing upset to the Queen than there is Prince Andrew.

Totally Agree, all the begrudgers and bullies just focus on hooks that they want to hang their negativity from.

i also heard the rumour that they wanted to go and greet mourners with their netflix show to be filmed

charles got wind of this and said no you can come with william and kate to windsor or nothing

It's amazing how many people have got the inside track on the Windsors. Who needs Kate and Harrys TV show. I'll just come here and all will be revealed!

No one should be rude to anyone. MM appears to have made public lie after lie including that she married 3 days before the royal wedding and has chosen to make money from a royal family she and Harry seem to want to leave so obviously is not going to be miss popular but that does not excuse people being rude.

If she wants to start to make up for her conduct I think she should start with a visit in private to her father who wants to see her, won't last long and has an open door waiting for her. Then most on to her half siblings.

Spot on.

Racists are the same everywhere.

Including on here.

Aboutnow · 12/09/2022 14:53

I live near Highgrove. Everyone in my village knows that Prince Charles used to meet Camilla in his art studio - she would drop her kids with friends in the village and they would meet at the studio he had bought for a local artist to 'give him art lessons in'. He made a mockery of the Royal Family from the moment he met Lady Di and then treated her like muck.

I don't give a shit about skin colour. She has slagged the RF off for years and is all "me, me, me". She went too far with the Mandela thing. People are calling out her lies.

Actions have consequences.

Can you or anyone list explicitly what Meghan has said to create these high levels of vitriol that she has levelled at her?

It honestly baffles me.

Roussette · 12/09/2022 14:54

likepeddlesonabeach · 12/09/2022 14:50

I have a friend who worked with MM before she married and she said she was absolutely lovely and went out of her way to be helpful to my (not famous or powerful) friend. Sure she seems a little lacking in self awareness given the enormous wealth and power she wields but no more than the rest of the royals or anyone else with unearned status and privilege.

The hate campaign against her is so targeted and specific, she’s become a hate figure and now it’s lucrative for journalists and bloggers to talk shit about her, it gets attention and that means money in an attention economy. If you hate her, think about how many times the message that she’s a witch has been fed into your brain by the media and ask yourself if you’re immune to that repetitive propaganda. She criticised her in laws in fairly tame language, so what? Millions of us do that every day.

Fab post

SpudleyLass · 12/09/2022 14:54

Prince Andrew, no. I don't like him.

King Charles, yes I would.

ThickCutSteakChips · 12/09/2022 14:55

Those women made themselves look pretty pathetic to be honest.

But then again Meghan is really quite dislikable and seems to just dig a bigger hole every time she opens her mouth. The Nelson Mandela thing was just the latest in a long line of gaffes.

But I still wouldn't blank her like that, because it would just make me look like a twat.

JudgeJ · 12/09/2022 14:55

It’s all down to her colour, deny it as much as you want.

I know that on MN this is the usual convenient excuse made but her behaviour over the last couple of years has alienated her from a very large percentage of people and it has nothing to do with the colour she inherited from her mother.

Wheresthebeach · 12/09/2022 14:55

Considering how she treated the RF and the Queen she's had a pretty polite reception. This constant stream of 'Megan the victim' is just absurd.

sidewayswalking · 12/09/2022 12:28

also asking a member of the public for a hug is just weird and needy.

When did she do this?

That never happened.

Beautiful3 · 12/09/2022 14:56

That's the way of the world. Actions have consequences. Some people have taken her and Harry leaving the royal firm and the UK, very personally. When you're famous, you have to expect both good and bad from the public. It can't all be glorious.

Yeah, sure you did. I heard the rumour that the moon is made of cheese!

AngelicaElizaAndPeggy · 12/09/2022 14:57

Don't get the logic of these batty spectators who refuse to shake her hand.

They say she was rude and disrespectful....and then behave rudely and disrespectfully back. (probs all the while hoping they will be filmed and become dubiously famous)

If you don't like meghan then fine, that's your perogative. But you don't make a case for yourself by behaving rudely back. Whatever happened to 'when they go low, we go high'?

BellaCiao1 · 12/09/2022 14:57

Georgeskitchen · 12/09/2022 13:47

The media were awful to Kate when she and William were dating.
Camilla had to endure some horrific treatment from the press when everything became public.
They bore it quietly and never complained, never explained. Now they have earned the respect of the people (most of them)but it took a long time.
William tried to persuade Harry to take things at a slower pace with Meghan and ease her into the role but he kicked off and that's what started the rift. It all went downhill from there unfortunately

Can you not see how mental and toxic this explanation is?

Meghan should shut up, ride it out and grin and bear it like Camilla/Kate to earn the favour of the British people.

Why are people on this thread advocating how Meghan should accept it and stay quiet? If it was an advice thread on mumsnet the advice would have to been to go NC with the toxic, narcs.

ThickCutSteakChips · 12/09/2022 14:58

Sorry, just to clarify, is anyone who criticises Meghan Markle automatically racist then?

A Royal source apparently told the Telegraph that this was completely made up. Interesting that some journo went to all the bother of concocting this slander; @whynotwhatknot might want to consider that the media are playing her like a fiddle.

Ask Alex Beresford!

ThickCutSteakChips · 12/09/2022 14:58

Of course not. But to make out that none of the nasty, venomous attacks against her, have nothing to do with her heritage is downright disingenuous. Funny enough the racist never come out and admit to being racist, do they?

ImJustMadAboutSaffron · 12/09/2022 15:02

phishy · 12/09/2022 14:46

I don't care if she's black white or chuffing rainbow coloured.

This gem is on a par with 'I'm not racist but...' and 'My best friend is black...'

Grow up.

ThickCutSteakChips · 12/09/2022 15:05

She does seem to lie as well - the story about how the actually got married 3 days before the Windsor Castle wedding? Bullshit apparently.

The story about the actor telling her that when she got married they celebrated on the streets like they did when Mandela was released? Bullshit apparently.
