I've seen a clip on Instagram where a group of women completely blanked MM when she spoke to them. It was awful to watch.
I feel so sorry for her, she didn't deserve that at all.
I saw another clip where someone had asked her for a hug, she obliged and when they hugged she really held the member of public and closed her eyes, it looked as if she really needed that hug .
No wonder she ran away from the UK

MrsSkylerWhite

If people could only muster up feeling for their own family, a lot of classic literature would fall flat.

I read that Charles Dickens's 'A Christmas Carol' actually sold out in about two days on its first print run and donations to charity actually INCREASED greatly during the following year. Critics and social commentators actually attribute the surge in public magnanimity to the pathos-rendering and admirable little character of Tiny Tim. It humans couldn't feel or identify spiritually with people very different to themselves, then they wouldn't be able to evolve a more caring civilisation.

I think people like Diana, The Queen, Barack Obama, not for their person but for the abstract values which their lives channel.

I like Meghan. She sticks up for herself, even against a "great" solid institution like what we have. She's also incredibly brave, facing the crowds again, right back in the Viper's nest. But she did it for her husband, she did absolutely the right thing.

@Thisisnotalife And the best part about it, it was most likely her own CHOICE to come back. They couldn't have forced her, staying in California would have been the easiest thing for her to do, but she CAME BACK. And she hasn't had enough praise for doing that.

Harry is indeed a lucky, lucky man that he has a such brave wife who gives him her full support, come hell or high water.

Aspiringmatriarch · 16/09/2022 18:17

Great posts @Thisisnotalife and@Bugeyedowl - totally agree. She's shown a great deal of strength. Harry is a lucky man.

Roussette · 16/09/2022 10:56

That joke's a bit stale now to be frank.

They have both behaved impeccably, leave them alone.

Agree with you @Roussette

Made even more stale by the fact that we now know she had just had a scare regarding her pfb, 5mth old baby, and no one seems to have given a damn.

notanotheroneagain · 16/09/2022 19:40

I do wonder what all the rabid 'squads' on social media will do. Will they spontaneously combust because they don't have a proxy war to wage over the RF? Or will they overnight just switch to a different topic where they can create division and fight?

This sounds ridiculous. Have you been reading too much from Wootton and Eden, who have been trying to smear them, the same as they have been doing for Omid who is just not constantly attacking the Sussexes.

From what I have seen from the so called 'squad' is that when H&M are not in the news, they carry on spreading the good things that they do and raise funds for charities in between. They are very H&M cantered and will ofcourse spring to their defence. If you look deeper, you will find they are liberals and others who believe in human rights. And yes, they are angry with the rf behaviour. They are not a hive mind, just random people somehow brought together in their belief.

Maybe your question is what the supposed 'Derangers' will do, since they don't seem to care about anyone or anything except to spread hate about H&M.

The obsession with a total stranger on this thread really isn’t healthy.
Well no one had posted on since Wednesday so a bit odd that you felt the need to bump it back into active again. Did you want to stir things back up again? Plenty of Royal threads running at the moment to post on.”

No. Have a life so haven’t been on for a few days. Sorry, didn’t realise commenting was time limited 🤣

RaptureGal · 17/09/2022 06:20

It’s all down to her colour, deny it as much as you want.

Oh get real. 🙄

For a lot of people, it is. Harry was supposed to have a white princess, like William.

Many years ago, I worked at a company with a Daily Mail reading, immigrant bashing woman. I’ll never forget the day the white CEO’s wife and kids came in. She was Asian. The cat’s bum face on my colleague’s face was a joy to behold.

Now amplify that by a thousand when it’s a prince, not a CEO.

Oh, the race card.. give it a bloody rest.
We loved her until the Africa interview & all the 'poor me' crap from both of them.

ThickCutSteakChips · 17/09/2022 11:21

I don't really like Meghan, and I'm not convinced that the problems she have all stem from her race (although it has certainly been a factor, see the Daily Mail, Danny Baker).

However, anyone who uses the term 'playing the race card' is a total and very obvious racist. It's such a shitty thing to say.

ThickCutSteakChips · 17/09/2022 11:34

I do actually think that Meghan has ovaries of steel coming back over and facing the crowds as she has, I wouldn't want to face those awful bitchy women in that crowd last week. I have really admired her this week, I'm sure I'm not the only one.

However, the problem is, they will now go back to America and release the next 'tell all' book, and interview, and they will undo it all.

As others have said, the absolute best thing to do is not comment on anything, just get on with your job, do it well and keep a dignified silence.

Their need for their 'little wins' and the short term validation is their downfall.

Thisisnotalife · 17/09/2022 12:12

Meghan Markle, by marrying Prince Harry, exposed the ugly, racist underbelly of the UK. But part of it is likely also because certain members of the royal family got jealous that Harry and Meghan, at first, eclipsed them in attention and popularity.

Because some of those calls are coming from inside the house: A staffer for William & Kate was feeding stories about Meghan to the tabloids as a trade for them not writing about Will's affair with Rose Hanbury; since Philip's death Edward & Sophie (a former PR exec) have been waging campaign push themselves (and their daughter) forward, and curiously enough, the writers writing positive stories about them, somehow get 'leaks' about Meghan & Harry. This is the horse trading Harry was talking about in that Oprah interview. It really wasn't until this campaign against Meghan started that Kate was getting so much fawning coverage.

None of this is new though. Years ago, when Charles was peeved at his Edward for trying to film William at school, Charles had his own staff wage a PR campaign against him, leaking stories to the press about his brother. And, of course, Charles' friends (for years) spread stories in the media about Diana being 'unstable', etc. But Diana wasn't unstable; she was right: Her husband's having an affair. And Harry & Meghan are right; horse trading with the media by his family (and hers) has exacerbated the whole situation.

It is one nutty family. Harry and Meghan are well off out of it.

I must saw photos of Meghan and Harry at the palace last night.

The first thing I spotted though was her make-up and I just felt sorry for her. I know people are going to pick up on it on Twitter and accuse her of going for the nightclub look.

It struck me how out of place she much feel back at the palace and how she has no-one to guide her in these subtle matters any more within the palace.

I don’t think it’s Kates responsibility though as the non verbal cues show relations have completely broken down.

Why feel sorry for her about her make up? She uses an experienced make up artist. I think "no-one to guide her" is a stretch! She's a capable intelligent woman in her 40s. She can ask Harry or others.

You say none of this is news, it certainly is to me! Seriously how do you know all of this? It seems like very insider information!

mamabear715 · 17/09/2022 12:45

@ThickCutSteakChips I'll ask my african & pakistani friends how racist I am, shall I? Oh, I forgot though, they don't cause trouble within the royal family or the country..

Thisisnotalife · 17/09/2022 14:02

Haha. I have “Sources”. Just like the daily mail and the gutter press do. Now who are you gonna believe?

Thisisnotalife · 17/09/2022 14:02

Oops the old excuse. I have black friends. I can’t be racist.

Time to get out the bingo card!

Are your posts supposed to be ironic? I genuinely can't tell.

Xenia · 17/09/2022 20:06

I am glad Prince Harry is back in touch with and having more contact with his father, the King, who never wanted to lose contact and loves him very much. I hope the family can use the current sad events to ensure more continuing face to face contact and I am sure that is what Harry and his father want. If MM could also try to have contact with her father and half siblings and let the children know both sides of the famly that would go a long way to helping ensure Harry and his wife are held in higher regard.

I certainly wish them well but I am not a fan of MM because of the things she has done including the well sourced matters Tom Bower mentions in his book.

Why should she be forced to see her toxic father to appease people who seem to hate her?

I must admit that ( As a White person) even I wince at the “ “Some of my best friends are Black” comeback.
If one has friends of different races, generally it wouldn’t be mentioned in such a “ Pat” way.

My brother’s White Schoolfriend married a Black woman, and it was only then that he saw the small prejudices about being Black or POC in a predominantly White country. (Eve. In London, which is reasonably multicultural)

White people are largely unaware of it, as it doesn’t happen to them.

Africa is such a huge and diverse continent, perhaps you could be a bit more specific?
