I've seen a clip on Instagram where a group of women completely blanked MM when she spoke to them. It was awful to watch.
I feel so sorry for her, she didn't deserve that at all.
I saw another clip where someone had asked her for a hug, she obliged and when they hugged she really held the member of public and closed her eyes, it looked as if she really needed that hug .
No wonder she ran away from the UK

Phishy your hounding and name calling at Ohnonevermind reflects very poorly on yourself. You have even resorted to calling her a liar about having Covid.
Shame on you.

Ohnonevermind · 13/09/2022 13:50

The fact it was filmed over a number of sittings (I’d presumed one) means that Oprah did no verifying of the claims and following up with Meghan at the next sitting

and despite Phillip being in hospital they saw no need to change the interview even though it was still being filmed

Ohnonevermind · 13/09/2022 13:53

@Snog

Thanks, but it’s okay.

Sometimes people can get very emotional on these threads, I’m sure I’ve done it myself on more than one occasion, but trying to be better !

Aspiringmatriarch · 13/09/2022 13:56

Meghan first had to resile on the “I had not been given any opportunity to fact check” and admit that Sara Latham had done this. She then later had to apologise and accept that the she had drafted notes for Jason Knauf and authorised him to speak to Omid Scobie on her behalf.

Thank you. I wasn't talking about the court case actually but the general idea that Finding Freedom was a Sussex 'project'. They were mocked and criticised over it and IMO the facts that came out really don't support that.

I didn't follow the court case in detail but my impression is that what you refer to was essentially PR people doing their jobs. There is also a question in my mind as to how much control Harry and Meghan really had, since everything was done under the auspices and guidance of the Palace and members of staff who were subsequently 'redeployed' elsewhere within the firm.

Ohnonevermind · 13/09/2022 14:00

@Aspiringmatriarch

if you want to comment, why don’t you read the emails - between Meghan and Jason to brief Omid ? These were provided to the court. Then you could comment based on facts.

Aspiringmatriarch · 13/09/2022 14:01

Ohnonevermind · 13/09/2022 13:47

Was this shown as part of the interview @Aspiringmatriarch ? Then it’s part of the interview. Whether an interview was filmed in one day or over a number of days doesn’t really change what was said in the interview.

they could have redone any parts they were unhappy with, Oprah could have fact checked any parts and followed up

but they didn’t

I don't believe it was, no. That's why I googled because I don't remember any reference being made to Prince Philip being in hospital, since he wasn't at the time. The conversation being quoted isn't the interview we saw and alludes to a successful procedure which again isn't the impression given retrospectively of Prince Philip on his death bed; although of course we know that sadly elderly people can decline very quickly, it doesn't sound as if the alarm bells were ringing at full volume at the time.

I did read them at the time, this is going back a year or so ago now so I don't recall every detail. I do remember there was a list of background information, Meghan expressed some misgivings over Scobie as he'd tweeted a false rumour, and she asked Jason whether she should tell her friends not to cooperate with him and was advised that it wouldn't be in her best interests to do that as he may then take a more hostile position.

Aspiringmatriarch · 13/09/2022 14:07

And I'm comfortable with my comments, but thank you for your suggestion.

Serenster · 13/09/2022 14:11

My impression is that what you refer to was essentially PR people doing their jobs.

Even if it was (which I don’t think holds up if you read the emails that were given as evidence) by the time Meghan was preparing her witness statements for the court case her Palace PR team were long gone, and what she instructed her legal team to write in them was entirely her decision.

The other interesting point about the witness statements filed by her side in the court case is how neatly they coincided. If we are charitable to Meghan and accept that maybe she really did forget her involvement, I simply do not believe that Omid Scobie would have forgotten that he got information directly from the Duchess, via a senior staff member. He definitely deliberately lied about that. So their accounts coincided, and both were incorrect. Often, that’s a clear indication that witnesses have agreed their stories.

here is a transcript of the interview and the comments about ringing Prince phillip are in it. I’m a quick reader but it’s about three quarters of the way down through the interview

Ohnonevermind · 13/09/2022 14:18

Reading the interview again, you really get a sense of Meghan’s animosity towards Kate.

I hadn’t picked up on it the first time, distracted by the other more glaring errors.

Thank you, it was interesting to reread some of the interview. I had completely forgotten any mention of Prince Philip. It sounds like the bulk of the interview was filmed by then so maybe that's why I don't remember it from watching. I'm a little confused - if it was a follow-up conversation, that's not made clear in the Sun's transcript but I imagine it would be obvious in any film footage.

If someone allowed the press to accuse me of making them cry on my wedding day. When in fact they were the one who made me cry .I would be pissed off too

Yes. It's glaring, to me, anyway.

Aspiringmatriarch · 13/09/2022 14:35

Fair enough Serenster - as I've said, I don't see it as a collaboration in the sense that you mean but as a side issue to the court case it does sound as if there was some obfuscation over what information was provided. There was a lot of debate on these threads over what constitutes collaborating on a book and I've already given my view on that.

What stands out to me is that they were in a difficult situation, since they hadn't reached out to Scobie or wanted the book to be written but were advised not to be obstructive if they wanted to avoid the book becoming a hatchet job. Again, this was Palace advice, it wasn't coming from Meghan or Harry any more than the book existing was a choice they made.

I think despite that though she (Meghan) went out of her way to say that Kate was a good person. It seemed to me that she felt Kate was as stuck as anyone in that environment with all the leaks and 'sources' and probably just wanted to stay on the right side of it.

It wasn't the wedding day was it? I thought it was the bridesmaids dress fitting? Where it is said that Meghan was behaving unkindly towards Charlotte and this is what made Kate cry. I don't know if there's any truth in that but it shows that it's all just a load of family drama and she said/he said.

I've said before and I will say again, if I were Meghan and couldn't stand my SIL there is no way in hell I would spend my life curtsying to her and trailing in her wake. I've never blamed Meghan for wanting out, I know I would have been the same. It's the constant sniping since I can't stand.

The thing is that it was Kate that made Meghan cry.
Agree that it is a load of family drama. However, it seems only to be a lot of family drama when Meghan is the victim. When Kate is the perceived victim posters can’t wait to talk about how horrible she is

Anyway, I agree with @Aspiringmatriarch .
post regarding this issue.

What hounding and name calling?

It’s so hilarious how happy you, Ohno and Londonwolf are with people making up lies about MM, but a simple ‘ah Covid, how convenient’ remark makes me the devil incarnate Grin

Meghan said this and it wasn’t denied.
In fact if I remember clearly Kate sent her a note and some flowers by way of an apology .

I had a "shame on you" comment directed at me yesterday for something TOTALLY innocuous.

It is designed to shame a person, I'm afraid it does the opposite for me. It makes me laugh, sorry but it does
