I've seen a clip on Instagram where a group of women completely blanked MM when she spoke to them. It was awful to watch.
I feel so sorry for her, she didn't deserve that at all.
I saw another clip where someone had asked her for a hug, she obliged and when they hugged she really held the member of public and closed her eyes, it looked as if she really needed that hug .
No wonder she ran away from the UK

@phishy I can see you are a person who takes being disagreed with extremely personally. The thing with @Roussette is despite the fact that she annoys me intensely at times and vice versa I am sure, she somehow always manages to move on and not bear a grudge and even share moments of humour with those who disagree with her. I can't imagine her scoffing at someone being ill because she's not "winning" the discussion.

If you don't mind. I am going to ignore you now, I don't want to be drawn into argy bargy which might result in suspension/ban.

@Lampzade

you admited she lied about the court documents so the ‘this’ is rather hypocritical

You have accused her of lying about practically everything to be fair.

I don’t think we’ve spoken before so not sure why you think I bear a grudge. I don’t know you from Adam Confused

You don’t need my permission not to respond to my posts anymore, feel free.

I do urge you though, genuinely, to reflect on why you hate MM so much.

Yep, she forgot and the court found in her favour. The Daily Mail lost its appeal.

How is that evidence of lying?

baldymog · 13/09/2022 12:54

I think rather than reconciliation the Queen's death will enable them to further distance themselves. She was always the tie that would continue to bind them till her passing. Following the funeral, their duty is done.

Serenster · 13/09/2022 12:55

It's all been hashed over so many times on these threads but I just wanted to point out that the Oprah interview was not filmed when Prince Philip was in hospital

This is 100% wrong, Aspiringmatriach

From the transcript:

Meghan: This morning, I woke up earlier than H and saw a note from someone on our team in the UK saying the Duke of Edinburgh had gone to the hospital.

Oprah: Yeah.

Meghan: But I just picked up the phone and I called the Queen just to check in.

Ohnonevermind · 13/09/2022 12:55

@phishy

You are spectacularly missing the point 🤣
she won the case as she was found to have copyright of the letter sent to her father not that she was a truthful witness.

Aspiringmatriarch · 13/09/2022 12:56

The whole thing about the Finding Freedom book was ridiculous. She was accused of working with Scobie and his co-writer and basically using them to ghostwrite a pro-Sussex narrative. The emails showed that in fact she provided them with some boilerplate background notes through a third party, wasn't particularly impressed with Scobie's credibility and certainly didn't approach them or instigate any kind of ongoing collaboration. So no, she didn't lie about her involvement with the book. Scobie approached her through the Palace and was given a list. Big woop.

Ah, fair enough. I have absolutely no memory of that but ok.

Ohnonevermind · 13/09/2022 12:57

@Serenster

i do worry what she will tell Oprah on the next interview about her private conversations with the queen. Seeing as they were ringing for chats and all.

Is she having another one?

If so, that will match Sarah Ferguson. She did two

Ohnonevermind · 13/09/2022 12:59

She lied to the court.

I'm not convinced Oprah will let herself get burned that way again!

Ohnonevermind · 13/09/2022 13:00

Thanks for that @Roussette - that’s really helpful 👍

Aspiringmatriarch · 13/09/2022 13:00

And a quick google indicates this was a later conversation, after the main recorded interview. So actually, it's confirmed that Prince Philip was not in hospital at the time of the interview we saw.

I actually think Oprah would love another interview with the duchess. Audience and all that!!!

SpinCityBlues · 12/09/2022 13:06

Meghan ‘did her duty’ though yesterday which was interesting to see, whichever way you veer with opinions on it all.

I think it’s best if she (and Harry) get some agreement with Charles and William now. A détente. They all need a long mental health break from all of it, everything. M&H need to ditch the nutcase advisers and spokespersons, detach from the media, ignore the tabloids (as do the Waleses) and live well, looking after their life in a simpler way supported by the right people.

And Harry needs to stop winding her up.

This. All of their actions recently seem as they both need to step away from the podcasts and media and look after themselves better.

Serenster · 13/09/2022 13:09

So no, she didn't lie about her involvement with the book. Scobie approached her through the Palace and was given a list. Big woop.

In a signed statement Meghan’s solicitor denied on Meghan’s behalf that Meghan had spoken to Omid Scobie or gave authority to anyone to speak to him on her behalf. (Meghan’s solicitor would have given that statements on the basis of what her client told her).

Meghan herself described the allegations that she had in any way assisted Scobie as false, fantastical and a conspiracy theory. She denied that she had been given any opportunity to fact check. “It had nothing to do with me” she claimed.

Omid himself also have a signed statement “Any suggestion that the Duke and Duchess collaborated on the book is false”.

Three statements, three clear denials.

Meghan first had to resile on the “I had not been given any opportunity to fact check” and admit that Sara Latham had done this. She then later had to apologise and accept that the she had drafted notes for Jason Knauf and authorised him to speak to Omid Scobie on her behalf.

No big deal to you maybe, but to most people, a very serious outcome.

If she does it, I think it will look very different to the first one. Oprah has been heavily criticised, I think she will want to push back on that. I'd like to see such an interview.

I find it incredible really that people don’t see it.

She hears PP has been in taken to hospital, she personally picks up the phone to The Queen and one would imagine gets an update, expresses her concern, best wishes, keep in touch blah blah blah and then straight to air with a tell all mud slinging interview about said gravely ill man’s family - classy!

Compassion in action right there!!!

If you look upthread, you can see this is not what happened. The transcript Serenster provided was not from the interview we saw but a later follow-up conversation.

Serenster · 13/09/2022 13:43

Right, so to be correct, Aspiringmatriach, your statement should be amended to read:

It's all been hashed over so many times on these threads but I just wanted to point out that not all of the Oprah interview was not filmed when Prince Philip was in hospital

Ohnonevermind · 13/09/2022 13:47

Was this shown as part of the interview @Aspiringmatriarch ? Then it’s part of the interview. Whether an interview was filmed in one day or over a number of days doesn’t really change what was said in the interview.

they could have redone any parts they were unhappy with, Oprah could have fact checked any parts and followed up

but they didn’t
