I've seen a clip on Instagram where a group of women completely blanked MM when she spoke to them. It was awful to watch.
I feel so sorry for her, she didn't deserve that at all.
I saw another clip where someone had asked her for a hug, she obliged and when they hugged she really held the member of public and closed her eyes, it looked as if she really needed that hug .
No wonder she ran away from the UK

No its not his choice at all. They are his grandchildren they have an automatic right.

It’s not clear though if that’s what they want though is it? the couple said on the Oprah show, that’s it’s not about titles but then say they were stopped from having titles. Would they take offence if that was updated with titles? I have no idea and I expect neither do the royal household so I think it was likely a case of ‘we will err on the side of caution and leave it for now’ it has probably been filed in the box marked ‘things to sort out after the funeral’

i did my dissertation on the royal bloodline

That sounds fascinating. How on earth though do researchers account for <ahem> uncertainty around paternity?

TooManyMoronsHere · 12/09/2022 21:22

It's kind of like a Brit going to America, utilising tax payers money for their lifestyle and then slagging off American Politics and Joe Biden/Donald Trump and then parading up and down outside the Capitol wanting to greet Democratic/Republican Americans. Not really the right crowd to be mingling with when you've insulted them!

Puzzledandpissedoff · 12/09/2022 21:22

(Scobie) is a crap writer and 'spinner' who uses Meghan to enrich himself. I really wish she would sack him and the rest of the leeches and liggers who have done nothing but given her and her husband terrible advice and yet financially benefitted from the fallout

FWIW I've no time for the freakish Scobie and his ridiculous scribbling either, but H&M are hardly forced to use his as their spokesperson or cooperate with his ghastly book, so I'm not sure how it's all being made out to be his fault?

I'm certain Harry would have had a DNA test to quash rumours around alleged paternity.

Not Harry, but going back in time.

I think Scobie's a loose cannon tbh.

Very interesting @Completelyovernonsense. Thank you 😊

StormzyinaTCup · 12/09/2022 21:27

these conversations should have already happened according to protocol.

Well yes, but seeing as PH has no interest in meeting with his father that’s a bit tricky.

Not Harry, but going back in time.

Probably can't prove anything either way without DNA testing.
Like that ghastly fraud who alleged she was Anastasia, one of the Romanovs...
Fortunately she had had an operation, and a bit of tissue was kept by the path lab, and after her death a DNA test showed her to be German.
A German fantasist factory worker who knew not the merest shred of Cyrillic script or Russian.
DNA put that to bed finally.

Some posters here have said H&M were welcomed until after the wedding, the video below includes some of the comments made with 8 days of their going public.

Also, I’m seeing a lot of tone/behaviour policing, infantilising re Meghan:
’Why can she not do as told, why can she not behave’

It reminds me of the policing of black bodies, the micro analysis of what they’ve said, where they’ve been/dressed/acted.

Bit like the vitriol of Diane Abbott actually (Mojioto, photoshopped shoes, whenever she speaks).

I believe I read somewhere, following Omid Scobie stirring the pot

He is a crap writer and 'spinner' who uses Meghan to enrich himself. I really wish she would sack him and the rest of the leeches and liggers who have done nothing but given her and her husband terrible advice and yet financially benefitted from the fallout.

Why would she sack him? He is her most useful idiot

smilesy · 12/09/2022 21:39

Well yes, but “should have” doesn’t mean they actually have. The only references I can find state that “sources “ from the Palace say they are awaiting an update from the Sussexes. I know this is not a reliable well of information, but it does make sense. Given that a huge deal has been made of the non granting of the titles, it’s going to be a bit awkward if the titles were, in fact, granted

Aspiring matriarch

As I suggested, up thread, it's perfectly possible that flowers have to checked by security. Why wouldn't they be checked? Sabotage could range from a single foolish person putting shards of glass in the stalks, to something more toxic or even orchestrated terrorism. Why! It's been on the cards for some time that the Queen might pass, and state mourning follows a proscribed and easy to predict pattern. An obvious opportunity for sabotage.

This is the sort of occasion when there is a need to appear human and not like at Di's funeral, so it might lead some Royals to become spontaneous, and for protocol to be pushed to one side. Also, lots or royals are going to be physically close together. This sort of circumstance triggers some people. Sometimes unbalanced people do use a big occasion to do something that gets noticed: didn't a man run in front of King Charles' car to get a photo?

If you objectively recognise that you are someone who thinks the Royal Family is like the Kardashian clan, and you acknowledge that for you there isn't a constitutional angle, then, fair enough, talk and write about K and M as if they are Khloe and Kourtney ....and discuss who people think is prettier and more like a true Disney princess. But at least TRY to recognise that there might be another more serious lens through which you can look at the workings of the Royal Family and that posters who don't agree with you are not necessarily guided by personal malice. They might be thinking ' We pay taxes to keep this country working smoothly - we don't want trouble making egotists to undermine the edifice on which out country's systems and government is positioned.

Set aside the constitutional issue of undermining the RF, even on a personal level, is there a family on earth who could weather having one of their senior members implied to be a racist? It's like saying someone is a paedophile. It's very serious. And then not to say who actually it is, meaning that that person cannot come back with an explanation, is just knowingly doing damage to the institution. Is it surprising that some people are going to be aghast and disapproving.

Also, what was all that ' the silence is part of the song' and 'I am silent until I speak '??? It's a threat isn't it, like you get in Agatha Christie books when the manipulator says: ' I could have seen or heard something, if I'd been looking'. It's all like: ' I could say something if I wanted to' .

. There's absolutely loads of reasons to disapprove of H and M . There behaviour has been unprecedented in British history. Never before have lesser royals taken on and contradicted the monarch in a thousand years.

If you think, yeah, M and H have got a right to call out behaviour which would shock the world, then don't take the stance that this thread could be people over -reacting to a bunch of flowers, because, it would have to be acknowledged that the issues between H and the rest of his family are more profound .

LondonWolf · 12/09/2022 21:45

It's a very touchy subject though isn't it? At a sensitive time - handover to the new monarch, when support is not guaranteed. So much anger already around M&H retaining their titles, yet not being working royals. What kind of reaction would the granting of such senior titles to two young children who've barely set foot in the UK get? Might explain why they're holding off on official acknowledgement.

Clearly protocol has been followed in part because we know other title changes.

The thing is, we don’t know who hasn’t followed the protocol 🤷‍♀️

Especially was Princess Royal's children are not 'Titled'.
Princess Anne chose for her children to not be 'Titled' as she thought its would be easier for them.
Also the last thing Princess Anne would do would be to try and cash in on 'Titles'.
Harry and Meghan probably want 'Tidles' to wow the American public.
