The Palace seems to be Leaking like a Sieve

These people are apparently worried about what Harry will write in his memoir but we've somehow managed to get a play by play of what has gone on this week.

From blocking Meghan's visit to Balmoral to how the joint greeting of well wishers came about.

Please note that these writers are making it clear they are speaking to Palace sources.

Now when H&M start speaking (in defense of themselves), people will complain.

Prince William and Harry’s reconciliation is just for mourning, not for life

Bombshell text from William to Harry that sparked an unexpected show of family unity after the pair failed to meet at Balmoral in the hours after Queen's death, writes RICHARD KAY

Of course they should be able to behave however is it not possible that The Queen herself made it clear who she wanted with her ?
The past few years have shown that family matters are not necessarily kept private when it comes to Meghan so I think it comes down to trust and the RF probably don’t trust her .

So it wasn't that it was inappropriate or because Catherine wasn't going? It was by invite only and she wasn't on the guest list. I can see why people prefer to be vague.

Tillsforthrills · 15/09/2022 20:30

If you think MM was going to be allowed access to the Queen on her deathbed, think again.

Might be relevant if Balmoral was a one room cottage. The idea that people couldn't be in Balmoral and not at the bedside is utterly ridiculous.

ancientgran · 15/09/2022 18:18

I still don't see why that makes it inappropriate. If there was only room for one more and she bagged the place then I can see it but I'm assuming Balmoral has got room for them all. If she'd gone and insisted on sitting by the bed I'd see it but just going with her husband doesn't strike me as a problem.

Two of her GC were there, William and Harry, and a DIL.

But can you not see that if she was in Balmoral, even if she was banished to the library or the study, the tabloids would have eagerly reported that Meghan was there while Kate, Zara, Beatrice etc were not, Meghan summoned to Queen's bedside, Meghan held dying Queen's hand etc

It would have been totally misrepresented.

Exactly and even if they were there, their relationship was much closer to the Queen. Right or wrong, MM was targeting the RF and likely caused a huge strain on the Queen.

LMAO Someone tell the Palace to get their shit together. It's getting comical 😂

They really can't help themselves.

Who made the decision in the first instance?

So life has to be organised on the basis that the papers might whip something up. Maybe people should be a bit more sceptical about what they read.

They saw "Good King Harry" and his guards and GOT SHOOK 😂

This is the thing, I don't think it was "The Palace" who said he wouldn't be wearing his military uniform in the first place.

As soon as the Queen died, the shitty tabloids rags, thier "sources" and so called royal "experts", all started assuming things. They then reported it as fact.
It never was a fact that Harry wasn't going to wear his military uniform. They made it up.
Now, to save face, they are reporting it is The Palace who changed thier mind. They will never admit they assumed it and just made it up. They have to now blame someone else, in this case its the Palace.

Nope. It was the Palace, Victoria Ward from the Telegraph reported the exception for Andrew a few days ago. No such exception would be made for Harry at the time. It says right there "Prince Harry denied"

Now they're acting surprised 😏

But they won't be. The Palace has to be aware of the optics and of not hurting people's feelings.

How would Zara or Beatrice or Sarah Chatto etc have felt if they had to read that Meghan had been 'by the Queen's bedside', 'rushed to Balmoral', 'part of Queen's beloved final farewell' or all the other rubbish that the trashy rags and mags spread around? They would have known it wasn't true but it would still have been hurtful and humiliating.

Omid reported that Harry was being denied the chance to wear his uniform

Ohnonevermind · 15/09/2022 21:26

@ancientgran

Meghan can whip things up all on her own. Ask nelson Mandela’s family

Omid's not trusted around here. Victoria Ward of the Telegraph reported as such too.

So did other journalists. They all got it wrong.

Does anyone think mm media mad siblings seem remotely normal?.
I see raging bitterness and jealousy of the much younger sister who their dad adored..

Unfortunately dad seems a little narsacistic also and self absorbed.

As far as I'm aware her mum's side has not spoken badly of her and certainly not her DM
Of course we don't know but her mum seems very calm, and contained..
I hope I am correct, and she's a warm loving lady who can spoil Harry, Megan and her grandchildren.

Ohnonevermind · 15/09/2022 22:16

MM’s uncle who worked in the consul and organised her internship seemed fine ?

elizaregina · 15/09/2022 22:28

@AmusableDragon

That help line is hilarious!

elizaregina · 15/09/2022 22:34

Bones of what you believe, that's so sad re the flowers.

She must have felt so incredibly exposed and trying to get it right and someone without malice unwittingly throws her and she is not sure what to do!

She has a brother who also has kept a low profile.

If she'd got relations on her mums side that she got on with, surely she would have invited them to the wedding? The only person out of all her relatives that was there was her mother.
So either she doesn't like them or they don't like her.

Have to agree to disagree on this one! Smile

I’m not sure bagging a place is something anyone could have done just because they assumed they had a right to be at Balmoral on the day.

Not everyone has big families. No one can draw conclusions on that.

Who said MM had 'bagged a place at Balmoral'? I thought that had now been disproved as one of those made up stories to besmirch her.

Exactly- she was momentarily thrown. I saw a clip where she was thanking someone for coming and saying it meant a lot to the family, thought that was pitched perfectly- as you say trying to get it right.

Who’s to know? Do you need to invite people you don’t like to your wedding?
