Meghan's long-awaited podcast has launched. Sorry if there's a thread about this already. Has anyone listened to it yet? Thoughts?

Imagine how refreshing it would have been if she had responded with gracious, pleasant remarks about the BRF, or expressed some humility - and gratitude - over the fact that the BRF paid for the mansion she is living in. But she talks as though it's all just her due. It's quite odd.

Exactly and maybe remember that no one would’ve the slightest bit interested in what she thinks if she hadn’t married into the RF .

Roussette · 29/08/2022 14:29

I am not being paid to post . This is a discussion board so I can say what I want ( within reason)

And that is exactly what I said. 😮 She wants to, she can, you want to you can.

SilverLiningPlaybook · 29/08/2022 14:31

Absolutely nauseating. I assume she blames Charles for the fact that Harry 'lost his father'. It would never be Harry's fault, would it?

Ohnonevermind · 29/08/2022 14:33

@Roussette

Do you think this article is 100% true - every anecdote, every tale of woe, every conversation between Harry and Meghan, her assertions about princesses etc

Credit where it's due though she does look stunning on the cover

Trying to recreate the Diana photo

And the lies don’t bother you ?

I won't answer your question in general because it will result in a pile on.
I will repeat, I found it interesting.

susan12345678 · 29/08/2022 14:36

She reminds me more of Steve Jobs there than Diana

I’ll take it that’s a no 😀

I think its great that they're enjoying their life and living it how they want. They should be happy in a perfect house, determining how they want fund themselves and what projects they want to work on. As the writer said, Meghan has the best of both worlds now. But I don't think they can be happy when they're constantly looking back and holding in so much anger. I'd have thought all the therapy they've been through would have helped with learning to deal with that but apparently not.
I think that's sad because the bitterness parents hold is invariably passed on to their children.

Admirable as it is, there's just one problem with lower key, grassroots charity work SilverLiningPlaybook ...

It doesn't pay the bills

Doesn't pay the bills for the charity you mean?

Otherwise what is the point of having a famous patron/supporter etc. It is to get the fame so donations keep coming in.

Yawn. Another day, another litany of complaints from one of the Sussexes. The record never changes. This time, it comes with a threat too. Lovely!

I think forgiveness is really important. It takes a lot more energy to not forgive,” she says wisely. “But it takes a lot of effort to forgive. I’ve really made an active effort, especially knowing that I can say anything,” she says, her voice full of meaning.”

Ohnonevermind · 29/08/2022 14:44

Wherever she walks I now imagine a Loren Allred serenading her with ‘never enough’ (from the greatest showman)

and palm trees bending in hearts before her

tattychicken · 29/08/2022 14:45

I agree, lots of that was not flattering at all.

notanotheroneagain · 29/08/2022 14:46

You can repeat this rf connections and titles nonsense as much as you want, it does not guarantee success and interest.

MT has a podcast and does drop little crumbs about the rf, now and again. W & K's appearance in podcasts did not garner that much interest. And Eugenie 's one is not a world wide number one despite her being literal hrh princess.

MM was slaughtered, and could say nothing about it. She can now talk about her lived experience, so she will. Good on her. Her takedown was played on the world stage, but now she cannot also correct on the world stage ? Sorry that is not how it works.

I only recall Prince William doing a podcast with Peter Crouch, and it was very well received I think?

notanotheroneagain · 29/08/2022 14:52

It was not number 1 worldwide.

You can't even remember KM going on about how tired she was on a podcast that is mostly directed at less privileged women ?
That is how much of an impact it had.

Madasahattersteaparty1749 · 29/08/2022 14:56

It was a very odd article and I don’t know the writer but it did not flow well, perhaps over editing to add or remove parts.

Parts seemed to be overly gushing with others not at all flattering and seemed like passive digs.

themessygarden · 29/08/2022 14:59

Gosh, I read that article, am I imagining it, but I feel there is an undertone to it, it almost feels like the interviewer is mocking her and didn't like her.

The strong insinuation from MM when she says she didn't sign anything (I'm guessing she means an NDA) and that she doesn't say what she wants because she choses to (I'm paraphrasing), it actually sounds like a blackmail threat.

CPL593H · 29/08/2022 15:03

Thanks @derxa very interesting indeed. Smiling assassin, that interviewer😂

Xenia · 29/08/2022 15:06

The article seems to be confused on who is a Princess. Diana was because her husband was the heir - he is Prince of Wales. Meghan is not nor ever will be as presumably a few seconds checking on line and yet the magazine still chooses to get that wrong.

AlexandriasWindmill · 29/08/2022 15:10

I liked the article. I thought the journalist very cleverly walked the line between fawning and revealing.

MarshaMelrose · 29/08/2022 15:10

But it's interesting that she thinks of herself as a princess. A princess with the common touch, inviting people into the bouncy castle. I definitely got Diana vibes from the photo and how she wants people to see her.

Serenster · 29/08/2022 15:11

Kate appeared on Giovanna Fletchers Happy Mum, Happy baby podcast. It was very successful, Giovanna later said. Like most things the working Royals do though, Kate wasn’t promoting herself. She appeared primarily to talk about the “5 big questions” survey that her Early Childhood Foundation was running.

My understanding is that without the Sussex Royal Dukedom, she would be Princess Henry. Pretty certain that's the case.
